Hey everyone, I'm doing a bit of research to sharpen my astrology skills and if you wouldn't mind being my "Guinea pig"! Since the 8th house is the house of other people's money, please share your experiences with this. For instance, did you feel that you benefited from the partner's money? Did you ever have a sugar daddy? Did you experience any financial ups and downs? Did you ever inherit anything? Have you ever had your partner's personal planets (sun, mars, venus) fall into your eighth house and what was it like? What are your sexual turn-on's?/turn-offs?

Thanks.

My eighth house holds the sign of Sagittarius... I have had very good luck when it comes to having had partners that we very well of financially... In fact, all of the people I have ever been involved with have been.

It has come as a surprise, actually. I hadn't really ever gone in with the mentality of being interested only if they were well off financially.

All have been distinguished, have had succesful careers, etc.

I think that with taurus there, it may help since the chart is basically inverted with opposite signs in their respective houses. Since the 8th is ruled by Scorpio, there may be a nice balance to all of it.

At the same time, any money may be steady and the themes of the eighth house more structured and maybe a bit "old-fashioned". No surprises in the bedroom or anything. Just good ol comfy love.

But also since taurus is ruled by venus, I would look to venus and also maybe just take a look at the condition of pluto who rules the eighth house naturally and maybe mars (traditional ruler).

If they're in a nice trine, then I would assume the eighth house matters are just probably downright perfect.

Just be aware of the transit saturn is making through the second house for the time being. That may be making finances stand out a little more than usual. And if the house of taurus is wide open, why swim upstream? Go for the bull with the money.

I have Taurus in eighth. with Saturn inside conjunct the cusp and square Venus. I am non materialistic to the point people criticize me for not being more confident and ambitious about money. I wish I could be with all my heart but I just cannot get into that mindset. I often feel like I am simply not a part of this world, more like part of the Bubble People. Remember Boy In A Bubble?
Yes yes I understand money is necessary and all that but I feel extremely uncomfortable when discussing money and asking people for it. I cannot explain. I feel uncomfortable discussing fees and whatnot with people. It just makes me squirm for some reason. I have no idea why.
On a job application, I feel uncomfortable putting down how much I wish to make in an hour because of course I wish it was $1,000 an hour and anything else would be a lie, so what on earth should I put there? I want to say what I believe. $1,000 an hour.

Time is precious...how can you put a price tag on something that's priceless? I feel human life and time are both priceless so I struggle with these eighth house matters.

Interesting responses so far everyone.I can pretty much relate to you guy's experiences.
I have taurus on my 8th house cusp
-ruler venus in leo in 11th house conjunct moon 10th/jupiter 11th, square pluto in scorpio in my 2nd house.
-my saturn also trines my 8th house

As a result, I've found that in terms of my finances other people have been a contributing factor as well. For instance, I was able to graduate from college fortunately debt-free because my dad was able to support me financially throughout my years at college. I've also had admirers/partners who were financially stable and who wanted to "take care of me" so to speak. But as StarlightSmileSupreme said, I was uncomfortable and still am a bit uncomfortable with accepting gifts/financial aid from others in my life because I feel kind of guilty. But at the same time, I have people in my life who says "just go for it" and tell me that I should count myself lucky.

It's kind of weird and I don't know if anyone has experienced this, but sometimes in close intimate relationships, it's awkward because it can easily cross the line to a sugar daddy/benefactor situation.... strange.!

As C1ND3R said, my turn ons are really simple and not really at all adventurous. For instance, all it usually takes for me is a good meal, beautiful setting, a glass of wine, and a kiss on the neck/ massage to get me in the mood haha

In addition, I've also found that I attract tons of Taurus men these days. My 7th house is split between late aries/early Taurus, and my 8th includes late Taurus at about 18 degrees, so I've found a lot of men I meet have personal planets in my 7th or 8th house. One guy had his mars in taurus in my 8th house opposite my pluto in 2nd!!!! This combination was interesting b/c as you can imagine there was a lot of sexual chemistry, and he was very showy and persistent with his money (mars in taurus)

Benefit from Partners money?
Yes. I was married before and that's what allowed me to go to college. I didn't even work for a year. I sometimes feel like that was the universes purpose for that marriage. We split 4 months after I graduated.

With the above, I didn't work for a year, if you want to count that as a sugarmomma. Otherwise, no.

Financial ups and downs?
Yes, with Uranus in my 2nd too! Bills and checks just come out of nowhere!

Inheritance?
Yes.

No partners planets in my 8th that I've ever known about.

Turn ons? Hahahaha! I'm not going to go into specifics. Think girl next door with Venusian qualities. (wife is a Libra)

Really interesting what you said about the opposition houses and Pluto/Venus condition since they rule scorpio and taurus...
I have 8th house in taurus, it's empty except my NN.
I've never inherited anything but I've always done really well for some reason, every taurus man I've seriously dated was very generous with money....and still were/are even after the relationship had ended.
My libra Pluto is conjunct my AC and my Venus, Jupiter opposed both, saggy Neptune trines both.
Venus on anti-vertex 2 degrees and it's opposed Chiron by 5 degrees.

Love has been a game of control most my life, I guess that's the Pluto/Venus/AC but maybe taurus on my 8th cusp has the same effect.
In the past it's seemed once I got into a relationship the guy began a battle of controlling me or at least limiting my independence and very often they will use money to do it! It seems I've outgrown that issue by now, whew!

I have to disagree about the routine sex part though....a taurus Sun/Merc/Venus/Saturn/IC and his gemini Mars were all in my 8th, and it was amazing, spontaneous and at times out of control....but never routine, slow or boring. Consistency, deep feelings and sensuality are absolute must though!

Control has been the name of the game for me too.
But it's good now.
I've learned where to let go of it, etc.

Yes, in the end it us who has to learn to pick our battles wisely in relationships, and pick our relationships wisely, there's to much powerful, potentially dangerous energy being passed around to take anything lightly in that area.

My Uranus is also in my 2nd and I cracked up when I read your comment on bills and checks appearing out of nowhere, that's soooo true! I'd never put it together with that placement, makes sense!
