I've run across my share of Sagittarius and 9th house Suns and Moons... Only one of which seemed interested in foreign cultures... and similar disinterest to higher learning or philosophy. What gives?

The ones I run across seem to share themes of freedom (especially from responsibility or convention) and honesty, however wounding it may be.

Sagittarians, please set me straight on this!

I'm a 9h sun, merc (in pisces), and venus (in aries) with a Sag mars, saturn, and uranus in my 5h..

I love foreign places and people. New cultures intrigue me and traveling around the world is one of my dreams. So, I'm not sure about the folks you're referring to.

The 2nd part is true as well, freedom from responsibilty, and being brutally honest. I don't intend to be mean, and will even try subtle hints to start, but it seems like people don't get me when I hint. So being direct and to the point is just the best way to communicate

Thanks for the responses! Keep them coming.

I've got 9th house venus conj NN, so I end up attracting women with some kind of Sag placement. Sweet romantics, but blunt at times

Did the online dating for a while. Whenever a profile for a woman started talking about camping and fishing, it was even money or better I was reading the profile of a Sag.

I'm a Sag sun/m/M/N they split between H1 & H2.
My H2 is Sag, 9H Cancer.
(or are you asking about 9H IN sag?)

I grew up in a multi cultural environment, speak 5 languages have lived on three continents, have dated only boyz from different countries expect for my first BF in high school, and have lived outside my country of birth for almost 20 yrs.

I like philosophy and history stuff but don't get too deep into it. I don't like religion and I'm not all that spiritual. Astrology is probably the only "esoteric" thing I'm really interested in.

I'm not particularly academic but I did get a masters degree, mostly to prove I wasn't dumb. Scarecrow syndrome.

I love my freedom, freedom from responsibility. But I prefer to be in a relationship than single. Must have my freedom in that relationship in that I don't like controlling people or those who tell me what to do. That really bugs me about my mother. She loves to tell me what to do. Grr.. I'm honest, but not brutally so. I'm not one of those blunt blurt out anything type Sags. I don't like to hurt people and I know words hurt.

Geez. Now you know everything about me! AND.. it's sounding a bit "online dating profile-ish"... eeks!

Oh... I HATE camping and fishing and "nature" stuff. Yuk. Blech.

Sag Moon, here.

I loooooooove philosophy! I minored in it in college!

I also loooove foreign things. My major in college was French, and I spent about a year and a half living in France. I am also a dual citizen (US/Italy) and hope to move back to Europe post grad school.

I'm a sag sun/ascendant

Obsessed with travel, philosophy, higher learning. Took philosophy in university and travel several times per year.

My mom is a sag sun, moon, mercury, saturn. She has 5 university degrees and is now working on her phD. She is 56

My sag sun/mercury sister is a doctor and completed her residency 3 years ago, but is going back to do another fellowship and a masters degree in.,, something. She travels about 3 months out of the year. Has worked abroad as well. She has been pretty much everywhere.

I've got Venus and Mars in the 9th, 3 planets in Sadge, and my Moon in Aries in the 5th is ruled by my Mars in Leo in the 9th...

So yeah... I tend to attract and be attracted to people who are from other countries/cultures, but I think, more oddly, these experiences just seem to find me.

Case in point, last night I met up with a guy I met on a dating site who I didn't initially realize was from another country. He was apparently from Panama, but had actually lived all over the world due to his having been in the army (formerly).

Unfortunately, in this case, there was no spark, but I've had a lot of contact with foreigners in my past, so this scenario is not unusual.

I love higher learning and philosophy. I do enjoy freedom, but I don't try to get away from responsibility, though I will agree that I don't care for convention all that much (not because I want to be different for the sake of being different, more because I like variety in life, and why limit yourself?).

And finally, yes, I am honest to a fault, but the facts are the facts (provided they aren't opinions) so I don't feel that anyone should feel personally attacked when faced with factual information. I prefer directness in communication. It's the easiest way to avoid confusion.

I like things like....
If you spill soap, is the floor dirty or clean? lol

No seriously, I at least find that amusing.

But I do enjoy philosophy.

On topic - see second post.

Yeah Sag moon-merc and I love foreign cultures, places, people, etc. Plus with my Aqua venus and I'm pretty much blind to racial or cultural labels when it comes to making friends, who I'm attracted to, etc. Although that's unusual for where I grew up so I honestly feel very out of place in my own "home" town/culture, etc.

I also have Sag lilith so I'll pretty much take any opportunity to travel, even if it means roughing it or going places that could be considered "dangerous" lol (went on a service trip to Honduras with a student group despite the warnings and increased violence there at the time.. for example) Without traveling-even if it's just small trips, I get a little stir crazy...

I do like higher learning and philosophy. I'm way too burnt out with school and life right now but originally wanted to climb the ladder in academia...
