I know there are pluto threads. It's a popular topic sometimes.

Many know that I have pluto conjunct asc in first. Also, according to a test that a fellow member did, Pluto is my strongest planet.

For people who have a prominent, dominant, pluto, what are your favorite things about it and most hated things about it?

Or, if you have had to deal with it, you can jump in too!

I love the power and intimidation that it gives off. The sexual magnetism is cool - who doesn't want to feel attractive?
The intensity and intuition. Lack of fear and dealing with crisis well, since pluto is extremes.

Even as the person who has this aspect/planet being very strong - even I get extremely exhausted with the constant digging for truth. I feel like some little terrier dog on speed just digging holes all over the yard. Sometimes I wish I could just relax... slow down.

Any tips on reigning in Pluto?

I do sometimes I guess. Leo and Gem moon sometimes tell Pluto to have a seat and shut up.

I took this handy test that other readers might be interested in, with apologies to whomever posted it first...I can't remember who it was:

How Strong Is Your Pluto?

My score was high, over 40.

My main issue is that Pluto is square my sun, so it's not the best way to experience Pluto. Case in point:

quote:
One of the most prominent characteristics of these aspects is the tendency to be intensely dissatisfied with their personal accomplishments and expressions of self. These people put a lot of pressure on themselves regarding their own endeavors. A child, for example, with a challenging Sun-Pluto aspect may work hard at a piece of artwork, decide it's not right, destroy it, and start all over again.

Link

Going through some of my old artwork from high school, I am still shocked to realize:

a) How good it is
b) That I left it unfinished because I hated one small part of it...and I still remember exactly which part drove me crazy. Like I did this one exquisite portrait, but I struggled with the teeth, so after all the time and effort I spent drawing, I ended up totally frustrated and feeling like it was a waste of time. Cursed myself for it. And that's been one thing I've been trying to overcome...toxic perfectionism.

But on the bright side, I like my Mars trine Pluto, love the endurance it gives me...feeling like I could literally walk 500 miles. Or talk for 500 years since my Mars sign is Gemini.

37...not surprised, have a few Pluto squares in my chart.

The biggest concern I have with Pluto is having it in the 10th house. As much I as enjoy the challenges, I wish sometimes work was a little simpler.

Faith, I have Pluto square Sun too! Its a constant battle between self-worth and career; I have trouble separating the two.

Edit: I saw your reply in the other thread, will get to it later.

I don't have a Sun squ. Pluto, but this has also been a major issue for me when it comes to my art (and music). That, and I have ADHD, so stuff can go unfinished because of that too, lol.

I do have Mercury opp. Pluto and Venus opp. Saturn. Pluto is also in my 5th, as is Saturn).

Also, I do have a Moon-Pluto conj. happening in my progression; it will be exact next month @ 29.5 Libra in the 4th...which also conj. my natal Pluto.

47.

Best thing about it: KSS - Killer Survival Skills! Put me with my back against the wall and I turn into ninja/hypnotherapist asap. Don't know where it comes from and I cannot make it come out if I'm not threatened. But it sure has perks to it!

Horrible things about it: I can get a lil bit obsessed with people, things, projects or generally anything new. I have to know everything about them and I have to know NOW.

(a little sidenote in response to DF's comment about not liking his chart today):

When I first got into astrology and saw my chart, and read the interpretations for it... I actually got depressed. Because I could relate to everything, and most things were very negative.

And then, little by little, I got used to it.
Can't say that I'm happy with it now, because that would be like saying I'm happy with who I AM now, and that's not really the case, but... I can see the strengths and potential in it.

Sure, I can see the weaknesses, the downsides... But, ultimately, we can work with the energies we were given at birth, we can master them (or at least try!).

And that's pretty much what keeps me going.

On topic now.

Let's start with the dark side:

- the power of negative emotions: instead of being angry, we feel rage; instead of feeling minor embarrassement, we feel utter and complete shame; instead of feeling disappointed, we feel desperate... it's easy to fall into the power of negative emotion, especially because we can see things through a very dark veil and react based on that.

- (leading to) the desire to destroy, to hurt, to manipulate, to sabotage, to poison, to imprison, to torture, to experience or inflict trauma and abuse, to sink deeper and deeper into the Hades; to stretch out the limits and boundaries... even if it's all internal.

- the obsessiveness: mental loops that never seem to end. Mental anguish. Driving ourselves crazy with thoughts, ideas, memories or feelings, or even sensations.

- the need for intensity: yes, drama-free life is good. But at some point, it gets boring. Plutonians can't be truly 'content' without some form of intensity going on. While this often means we'll look for "drama" in the negative sense, I believe it can also be about positive intense experiences. But that's a lesson we need to learn - to turn lead into gold, the power of Alchemy and transmutation (hey, I'm talking about the good side here, woops).

- being demanding: once we truly want it, we want it all. That means overstepping the boundaries, being pushy, being forceful. Of course it doesn't *have* to happen but it often does once we feel strongly about someone/something.

- all the psychological BS that comes with it, really.

... And now onto the light:

- the perceptiveness: understanding things on a fundamental level before even being able to put them into words, or clearly explain them.

- the "intuition", or gut feelings, including the ability to know if Mr. or Mrs X is good or bad news for me personally (shady people vs. trustworthy people). "Feeling" things out.

- the intensity of feeling: feeling things on a soul level is truly a transcendental experience; when we surrender to the power of our own depth, we can tap into pure positive energy that feels very purifying and transforming.

- the resilience: no matter what we go through, we keep going, and we intend to win. This goes along with the desire - the drive - to overcome obstacles, to reform the inner and/or outer world, and to RISE, against all odds.

- the passion: romantic, sexual, ideological, no matter. When Plutonian energy is properly channeled and allowed free expression, it's full of passion and force, and conviction.

I guess that's a pretty good list already.

Whoa.... Whoa whoa...
You nailed everything. Amazing.

Mine is not the strongest, but at 38, it's still powerful.
I think with it on asc it's felt more... In your face (the native) because it's not buried or in another house. It's on the house of self, so it's felt within ones own self.
A lot is internal.

Anyway.... Pluto and Virgo. Enough to drive me nuts some days.

39. I think I'm Plutonian mainly when it comes to relationships. Also I have a very with me or against me view of the world. I totally get when you say you get tired of constantly digging for the truth. Like I wish I could just be content and happy and calm like everyone else. My life's been a constant cycle of destruction and rebuilding and learning from the past. I feel like I can handle anything life throws at me. I survive and I know I can make it.

Boyfriend scored 47!! Though I'm not sure if I should count one of his squares it's a wide orb. Still that puts him at 42.. He is really into experiencing the seedy underbelly of life. I think that's what attracted him to me in the beginning. I won't go farther but let's just say we were partners in crime. Figuratively.. Maybe. Hehe. He wants to do work in something involving crime like detective work. Though I'm not sure if all that is. Pisces thing or a Pluto thing.

Yes! Sometimes I feel like we're the same person in some areas! LOL word for word all that you said is exactly the way I look at it. When I first got into astrology my chart scared me too. The negative stuff described me to a T along with the positive. I of course being the rule breakering charmer that I am didn't want to believe any of it. It felt like the people writing the descriptions and generalizations that I read were the people who had never even experienced the stuff that they were bad mouthing, which for the most part is true. It reminded me of my parents lol. I have a very hard time accepting my bad traits and qualities, even more so when I was younger. I believe that everyone here has a purpose and were born for a reason. Our charts are who we are, and unique to every one of us. We should embrace them and master them.

I got 43 which honestly surprised me but the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. As I've gotten older I've learned to control myself more, control my outbursts and anger. I ignore a lot of the negative, evil thoughts in my head. There are some things that trigger them and make it harder to let go, but for the most part I don't let them get to me. When I was younger I was completely OBSESSED with my weight, the way I looked and the way people saw me. I had to be "perfect", be the "perfect" size, have the perfect hair, and always had to say the right things. I was depressed, suicidal and very very hard on myself, but forever put up this wall so no one knew. It drove me crazy constantly being misunderstood. I drove myself mad forever trying to be what everyone else wanted me to be. I also was pretty damn evil. I was extreme, vindictive and manipulative when pushed over the edge. I was and still am the only girl(minus my 4 half sisters) and was quite spoiled, so of course I was demanding and expected more out of my mom than I should've. Pretty sure that contributed to the many problems we had, plus the fact that she's a Taurus with Scorpio Moon, yikes!! So absolutely all of that led me to drinking alcohol which I'm almost certain if I didn't stop when I did, I wouldn't be here much longer.

Despite all of the bad I've gone through and have experienced throughout my life I'd like to think that I'm a genuinely, good, kind-hearted person. I looove people and would do anything for anyone who needed me. I'm pretty positive despite having a history with negativity. I'm very passionate about a lot of things and can't wait to add mother to that list. I aspire to inspire others. I'm a good counselor, made for talking and making other people feel good about themselves. I love the energy Pluto brings to my chart and can't imagine being anyone else other than myself.

Awesome words Doux

Sorry for the looooong a ss post LOL.

Off the top of my head, I have around 45. Manfriend has a loaded 8th house & a Scorpio MC. I am tickled as he is a Leo & I am a Libra as like you & BarbieGirl. He also has Mercury in Virgo which is part of his crazy 8th house stellium. His Sun-Mars hangs out in my 12th & My Sun-Pluto is in his 8th. My Scorpio IC widely conjuncts his MC by 7 degrees. I like Pluto; it is the gift of heaven or the scourge of hell. Pick one.

I got 50 on Pluto.
It's pretty much what Doux Rêves said. The thing that I like best is that need to know everything, maybe because my personal planets are in air signs, I like knowing everything and I love doing research, that sorta of what drives me.
I crrep myself out though when I am basically stalking people. Have to keep myself under control.
BUt it's like I know every little secret and I am always a step ahead from someone else sometimes and turns my life into a rollercoaster.

Glad my post resonated with you, guys.

I like the energy you exude, DF & Barbie. I don't know, there's something nice about it.
There was a time when I felt a bit odd about you two (not sure why... maybe the lack of connection/talking, or the flaming that was going on) and now it seems to have dissipated.
(Well, energy is probably fluid/changeable, and doesn't stay in the same place... I think? lol)

That was random, but I guess what I mean is that it's cool to have you guys around, you add a special kind of vibe on here.
Stay cool!

Hello... Cute test there, but them's some mighty wide orbs. If I use the orbs allowed, I score 54... 56 if I give a couple of extra credit points to Pluto sq. Vertex (conj Mercury). 8th house sun Scorp rising here with Pluto tangled up in my Uranus opp Saturn sq Mercury T square... and so on.

Yet Pluto is all alone in my 11th. Even conj Uranus is back in the 10th.

Let's see... First, I live the death rebirth thing throughout many areas if my life. Home, career, relationships, friendships... Every few years life tears it all down and leaves me to rebuild.

Rage? I suppose the things that most get under my skin are politics, society, abuse of authority... People who love me ask me to stop talking about those things even when they agree because I become so passionate about them. 11th house Pluto sound right for that?

Over all though, I think Jupiter trine Pluto along with Venus Cancer and Saturn Pisces trine my Asc help moderate rage. I know how deep that rage can go, and how tempting it is to give in. Its a power rush like a drug only better! But... Anger is like swallowing poison and expecting the other guy to die. I read that somewhere once... I'm a Gemini, we've read everything somewhere once

Edit: Mercury and Saturn both test in the 40's for me as well, so it's definitely a case of "your mileage may vary" for me.

Oh I did as much as our Uranus/Jupiter mirrors allow. We are both odd ducks despite our Neptune, Pluto, Saturn DW's. We have been exclusive for almost 5 years & are loyalties are to each other despite my court ordered custody inability to move to his state. I was with him for a whole week (I usually can only visit him when ex husband has our daughter, but ex was able to have her 2 weeks when school let out) , and he wanted me to stay another week; but I have duties & responsibilities (damn you, Saturn!). Also, I always leave on a high note. He is my bestfriend with whom I can share my darkest secrets/moments & hopefully I am his. I think I am as he is a special forces combat veteran & nothing he shows or tells me upsets me. That is pretty damn Plutonian.

I am a Scorpio female with my Mercury(r), Venus, Jupiter, and Pluto in Scorpio. My ascendant is in Taurus so my descendant is in Scorpio and Pluto is the ruler of my 7th house.

I also have Sun conjunct pluto, mars conjunct pluto, Sun opposite ascendant, pluto opposite ascendant, mars opposite ascendant, and Saturn square Pluto.

My mars is also on my 7th house cusp.

My true node is conjunct my mars in my 7th house.

My Scorpio stellium is located in my 6th house.

I have a love/ hate relationship with all of my plutonic energy.

I love how I can read people and the fact that I possess a hidden magnetism, but on the flip side, I hate the fact that most guys my age can't match my intensity.

I have a lot of Saturn placements along with all that plutonian energy so you can imagine how my love life is going.

I love the fact that I'm a Scorpio with a lot of intense energy. Nothing is more beautiful than knowing you contain so much power within yourself. It's an amazing feeling even when I'm in pain. The intensity of my feelings go above and beyond the "normal standard of feelings".

I scored 39. I am 51 Venus. Pluto is my second strongest. I've been described as having that Plutonic look, but I have Scorpio Pluto in the 1st, trine my Pisces Sun in the 5th (almost a double whammy as far as appearance/disposition), and square my Mercury in Aqua, sextile my Neptune in Cap, and widely opposite my Venus/Jupiter/Juno in Aries (7h). I am Libra Ascendant.

I have some of the Pluto good and bad, but I think the Sun Pluto Trine smoothes out a lot of the Pluto negative. I'm intense, somewhat brooding, but still approachable and not intimidating. I've been told I'm like a magnet. Lol.

My worst Plutonian traits come from my Merury Pluto Square. God. I have a hard time trusting, and I feel like everyone has bad intentions sometimes. I dig and dig and dig until I find something that proves me right. It sucks. I usually self-fulfill prophecies. It's something I have tried desperately to overcome. I agree with DF's analogy of the terrier. Yikes.
I'm a snooper.
---
My boyfriend has a ton of Pluto in him, including a Pluto stellium (including Sun and Venus) in Pluto in the 8th house. Natally he has Pluto Venus conjunction, so he can handle my obsessive tendencies. Both of our Venus (touched by Pluto) touch our Saturns, which we both have Natally and synastrically, so we deal with all the heavy energy well. In composite, we have a packed 8th house and a 12th house stellium, with a baby 1st house stellium (sun, Merc, Venus).

We are both intense to say the least. Lol. I think he scored something like 50.

I'm a 64, which is just fabulous for me.

I get sick of talking about Pluto's negative qualities. So, I'll just focus on the positive:

Mainly, it's a real GIFT, especially with me being an actor. All of that emotional intensity, that high awareness of my feelings, that acceptance of my dark side/life's dark side, that ability to "just get" other people's motivations and to be able to transform myself in subtle ways all really, really help me as an actor. In fact, that's all just something I understand very intuitively and I've learned to completely trust my gut, in that regard, when I'm performing and not rely on any sort of technique. Coupled with my Sun in Leo, I'm very thankful for my birth chart because I feel like I was just born to be an artist.

I'm glad I've also gotten to the point to be able to really SHOW my feelings, at least through the form of acting, because it's been something really transformative. I'm not saying I'm a total open book now. I still engage in some forms of emotional hiding/secrecy, even though it's easier for me to talk about it. But, it's given me an amazing outlet to really express that and direct that. All the Scorpio/Pluto is in my 10th house, so that makes sense (transformation and intensity through career).

Doux Reve said everything else excellently.

Your score is insane.

I really like what you said here.
I think much of Pluto's negativity can be successfully dealt with by bringing the issues to light, and that means expressing them, and even let others witness that expression (provided there's no shaming, blaming or judging going on, but only acceptance).
