Using the equal house system, I have Saturn in my 9th house.I used to travel a lot when I was younger and have even lived in 3 other states other than the one I was born in. However, once I hit like 12 or 13, the traveling stopped. As I get older, it gets harder and harder to travel. Something unexpected always happens that gets in the way of a planned vacation or getaway. It's very frustrating. IP: Logged |

Could you possibly expand on what gets in the way of your travels? Are they Saturnian themed like your career/responsibilities holding you back? IP: Logged |

The first half of my life I moved a LOT back and forth over the country. I'd love wild global travel, but for some reason felt thwarted. Saturn restricting travel...and higher education. I have just about enough credits for several degrees...architecture, archaeology, anthropology...but no degree. Saturn is a thwarter. This is painful because I'm Sag Mars.IP: Logged |

Can I ask what obstacles are/were in your way? And why do/did you feel thwarted? IP: Logged |

Yes. I started later in life but I love it. I started traveling quite a bit in the last 2 years. The odd thing is that the obstacle removed itself during Saturn return - in the 9th. ------------------ ~the raving one dancing in the nude~ IP: Logged |

Saturn in 9th here I can honestly say the year I decided to travel was the year that changed my life. I only really grew up during that year and learned more than ever before. Now I know most young people traveling will experience this but there was such a huge difference in me that my own friends commented on it when I returned. I wasn't the same person anymore. It's been my biggest most valuable lesson in this life. Travelling opened my mind and eyes to the world in a really big way. IP: Logged |

Thank you! I greatly look forward to travelling, it's literally my biggest life goal. Were the obstacles Saturnian themed? IP: Logged |

Thank you, glad to hear you had a great and life changing experience from your travels! From what I've read/seen on travel blogs/vlogs most people do change for the better and even get the travel bug lol. Are you planning any future trips? IP: Logged |

I basically started this thread because I really Really REALLYYYYYY want to travel (teach abroad, volunteer, and backpack in different countries) and I'm not too happy with the "possible" outcome of having difficulties in travel. So I just wanted to hear about other peoples experiences.I've traveled a little bit in a few states and last summer I did a small trip but it was only to see my sister. I've yet to travel out of the states though (I am planning a trip to Canada next year though to prep for the big leagues ). Kind of like Heartsong11, I want to travel not only because I get to see so many cool places, but because I'd really like to see and get to know the world and people through a different lense and I think it's a great way to learn about yourself through your travels. So yeah , I'm hoping this aspect isn't a complete blockage to travel. There's always a positive and negative manifestation to things (or maybe I'm overly optimistic about life). IP: Logged |

Yes the travel bug never really goes away after that first experience. I'm done with travelling for now though lol. I did an around the world trip and also lived on a different continent for a year so for now I've gained what I wanted from travel. I see Saturn in 9th as a teacher of travel, philosophy and spirituality. And it hasn't been a blockage for any of those things. In fact I think Saturn in 9th leads you on the path to learning about these subjects. What aspects does it make? My Saturn widely conjuncts my pluto 10° so not sure if it counts. I think this only manifested once when I was 12 and I moved country. That was one of the more difficult things in my life. I felt like the rug was pulled from under my feet and it took years to get used to my new home/country. Other than that Saturn in 9th has been good in regards to travel. IP: Logged |

My experiences of travel are so inconsistent I looked up the placement. On the one hand I feel invulnerable, have travelled alone and on reflection have put myself in dangerous situations with no consequence. Usually meet up with locals but quite solitary and lonely otherwise. Some overlap with living overseas in that there where I have worked when living abroad .. Even on holidays there's a kind of ordinariness, grittiness to the experience. I like western cultures and European cultures but not drawn to Asian cultures .. Am fearful of not knowing both the language or the customs. I don't have the travel for the sake of travel thing either. I imagine these being attributed to moon opp Jupiter or Jupiter in cancer I have felt a kind of restriction when travelling .. Based on locations, others, travel arrangements. Kind of a frustration but only mildly and nothing bad has happened. There is a kind of lack of control to an extent in that I've moved or travelled to suit others & often times I've fallen in love with a place I have to leave it for some reason. I feel Saturn in 9th more in educational settings IP: Logged |

Honestly, I was probably my own obstacle, but wherever I find Saturn, I find a great big NO.
