It's not that simple really. The planet that rules a house cusp basically acts as the means for retrieving information/experiences regarding that particular house cusp. The house/sign the ruler is in gives us clues as to how the individual may go about retrieving this information. For example, Mars as ruler could indicate that the individual retrieves information regarding their family, vibrational heredity, personal domestic responsibility, emotional foundation, etc. via taking direct assertive action and exercising their personal will. If in the third house, the area would be their most immediate environment and personal experiences. Their thoughts about what is going on around them in the here and now, free of the emotional conditioning of, say, the fourth house. If in the sign of Sagittarius, the Martian energy of direct assertive action would be coloured by a jovial, experimental, philosophical approach. In regards to the fourth house ruler being retrograde, any retrograde planet signifies an inward or 'reverse' type action in relation to how the planet would normally function. The energies would become internalised and perhaps even function on a subconscious level. Having Aries on the cusp of the fourth house, thus Mars as it's ruler could signify a vibrational heredity that prides itself on being strong-willed and independent as a tribe. If Mars were retrograde however, this typically ying extroverted energy would become introverted and would take on similar characteristics to Mars' second sign, Scorpio. So rather than consciously projecting the typical Arian energy for the whole world to see and hear, the vibrational heredity would be more inclined to express its strong will and independence by simply keeping to themselves and staying in the background, watching everyone else from a distance. My IC ruler is Pluto and Pluto is square my Moon and Sun. I wouldn't say I am "close" to my family...especially not with Sag in my 4H and Jupiter in 9H. Everything about me is Foreign. Religions. Travel. Food. People. Earth is my home. Oh. Pluto is NOT retrograde so I don't even know why I answered :-/ But Neptune in 4H is! IP: Logged |

You won't find a correlation simply based on the planet being retrograde. IP: Logged |
