If he is a good guy he could just be a good role model and have a therapeutic effect on you..this could be karmic. He could be entering your life to help transform you and help you be the best you can be and get rid of old patterns of behavior that our outmoded..

But if you are not ready for this and he or her is not very evolved and is on a power trip then the problems start....

But thinking about self fulfilling prophecy I would suggest you approach this with an open mind and an attitude of change and growth and hope for the best otherwise you might just project your fears of how this is going to play out and bring the worst out of the interaction.
