In this context I mean idyllic AND romanceit must be my Venus inconjunct ASC.. Neptune on the ASC, Neptune opposite Sun, Venus inconjunct Neptune, Venus in the 5th making me feel this way. I know some eras were in the "Romantic" period but this one just seems like the "Cynical, bitter, complain about everything and theorize when are we all going to die" period IP: Logged |

Depends on how you define anti-romanticism. Are you referring to how dating is or the attitudes people have about dating? The expectations (or lack of)? The reality or the imagination? I can see your Neptune in this post. To be fair, I have Neptune in 1st, Neptune conj Asc and Venus semisextile Neptune, and....Neptune-Mars lolololol. IP: Logged |

I mean people's view of dating, romance, and relationships in general these days.And modern society's distaste for all that is beautiful and ethereal, from writings to music. You know the Romanticism period of the late 1700s mid 1800s, also refers to idyllic and idealizing things, the 80s was like a mini-romantic period in this way. Right now it seems we're focused on Apocalypse, no love for the ethereal or beautiful or delicate except glamorizing human flesh in the media which I guess is a form of a corrupted Neptune. Yes.
I blame it on Taurus moon, Moon trine neptune, venus square pluto, and venus conjunct ascendant. Its really startling when you look at music today and compare it to music 20 years ago and earlier. Back in the day music had soul and you could relate to the emotions conveyed by the lyrics. but today? its all about "getting up in dat Azz", "getting money", or "look how hot i am".IP: Logged |

Neptune square libra asc, moon trine Neptune, mercury square Neptune, Neptune opposite mars. Yep definitely, nothing has class anymore, it's all bland and plain. Almost everything is a quick fix or rush, I wish people would slow down abit and smell the roses. IP: Logged |

I feel ya! Neptune in 5th Singleton - very strong
12th house Sun, Venus, Mercury, Mars I've already resigned myself to the fact that this world will never be as ideal or romantic as my heart desires.
Thankfully, my Virgo Moon helps me endure the cynicism. It helps me to be more of a Pragmatist. It helps me empathize with the bitter cynics a little more, even if I wish they'd be more hopeful and joyful. I just try to focus on the little bubbles of joy that do float around. My children's grins and giggles, my dogs goofy antics, the simple things. My Ceres is in Leo, so I need romance, joy, and lightness in life to feel nurtured. Neptune is strong in Pisces now, so that should help this era some.
