I had this question when I saw America by Dinesh Di Souza. He is really sexy, I think, although he is not a conventional hunk. He vibed some sort of charisma, so I went to the charts.

I was expecting Mars in Scorpio or some charismatic placement.

I found Moon conj Pluto.

My question is how does this differ, in a real world way, from Moon in Scorpio.

This same question could go to any placement.

How does Venus con Pluto differ from a Scorpio venus etc

Thanks

Ya know, I've given this a lot of thought myself, and I truly can't ever find a difference.

I have natal Moon conjunct Pluto 3° applying.

They both square my Sun-Venus conj., so I also have a tight Venus-Pluto square and Sun-Pluto square.

I've read many descriptions of Scorpio Moon that describe me, as well as descriptions of Scorpio Venus and Sun... even though all I have in Scorpio is BMLilith.

So, I can't say which has the stronger effect, the planet in the sign or the planet closely aspecting the sign's ruler. The same goes for the planet in the house. I know people with their Sun or Moon in 8th, nothing in Scorpio, no close Pluto aspects, yet they still act very Plutonian.

This makes me tend to think of them as all being almost interchangeable really.

I view it as the sign being a bit more soft and free flowing. More in control of the energy at play.

The planet conjunct as hard edge, more difficult to control and more turbulence.
Can be mastered but takes time and practice to obtain the level of control that the sign has.

That's just my viewpoint.

That's a great explanation, DeepFreeze. Makes a lot of sense thinking of it that way.

In practice, I can see what you're saying. Since my Sun conjuncts Venus, this can make me act very Libran, but I don't think it's as softly or gently Libran as a Libra Sun would be. It feels more overt.

Yeah, exactly.

I might have details wrong and everyone is different. Some may disagree completely.
I have Pluto/asc in Libra.

The moon I imagine might be like...
Scorpio moon feels natural and at home to have such intense emotion. That's just them and they may not mind.

Libra Pluto conjunct moon would perhaps be very similar but not quite able to keep some things in check because Pluto is a planet of extremes. But mostly just uncomfortable with such deep emotion. They want to feel balanced and light but that's just not the way they are. Might be some internal unrest until they learn control and accept it... Find balance while expressing Pluto in healthy ways.

Just my thoughts.

I'm Leo so I'm allowed to toot my own horn from time to time right?

Astrology is like a never ending learning experience I think, like my job and I love that.
But I feel kind of proud sometimes to have come so far in 10 months trying to grasp it.
Edit:
Thanks Ami

I was told by astrologers that is one of my gifts if I pursue it. (based on my chart but I just enjoy it. No real goals with it)

You are welcome, DF!

So, I guess it is like the Scorpio Moon is more seamless and more free flowing that Moon conj Pluto which may be more like a tight dress that you wear to the party but can't wait to get home to take it off

Yeah
The tight dress being Libra when at home Pluto is free.
Virgo may try to rationalize the emotions... Good luck!

I think of it like the sign is a nice glass of orange juice. The planet conjunction is like a teaspoon of the concentrate in the bottom. If you hit it (aspect this point) it's like, "whoa! That was a potent something or other... Jeez" Like mercury/pluto might be like, "whoa I wasn't expecting that" when you hear them speak or share deeper thoughts. Where as the sign it might be a little more apparent on the surface, through body language and other subtle clues.
The planets are the ruler Of the signs so I see it as these little concentrated doses of that energy.

That's just how it makes sense in my head. Welcome to my world
I could be wrong, heck.

Well, my Dad has a Leo Moon exact to Leo Pluto and he is VERY intense and charismatic!

My mom has a Scorpio Moon in 8H (with sun and merc) sq Leo Pluto and she is just a mess.

They are both very intelligent but my mom can't handle her share so she drinks it away.

My Dad has a built in bs detector bar NONE I have ever met.

Based on other analyses, I thought that Venus conj. Pluto means having love for power or that love will be a very transforming experience. Venus in Scorpio is more like projecting mystique and sexiness, vibes that other people notice.

I was kind of thinking about something, not exactly that, but similar.

I was thinking of people who have the same placements, coming together when the same placements hit the Node, especially when that is happening on the Vertex of one.

But, I guess that has a different context to what the question asked.
