So I've never really sung seriously in front of people unless collectively..I have this weird tendency to tear up when I sing a capella to myself and sometimes when hearing others do the same. It's like my heart is coming to life times 100 and can't handle it. Does this happen to anyone else?

I'm assuming the planet that rules singing is Mercury? Maybe Venus? Either way I know there's a tie to the Moon.

Just curious if you think aspects/placements have anything to do with this.

In my opinion, music is the best medium to express emotion. I don't think what you are feeling is beyond the pale.

When I performed regularly I had an uncomfortable level of anxiety performing solo. Is there some of that happening for you?

Anyway, maybe Saturn aspecting Venus, Mercury, or Moon? Water placements?

Venus is more likely to rule singing and the arts. Personally, I do tear up when a song relates to how I'm feeling, but this is a rare case since I don't like crying in public. My Mercury and Venus are conjunct (Virgo) in the 3rd house and both are sextile my Moon (Cancer) in the 1st house. I think a trine would be best for tears flowing just naturally whether the song relates or not to how you're feeling at the moment. This is because trines basically shows us talents that come naturally without effort and tension. With sextiles, they're talents that we need to develop, but they develop easily rather than oppositions or squares.

Anyway, I'd also look to the 2nd house for it rules the throat. For example, Cancer rules my 2nd house and my Sun is in that house. This totally makes for an emotionally (Cancer, moon-ruled house) expressive (Leo sun) singer.

I have to control what songs I listen to and sing because I will totally cry.

I think it would be a moon thing. Maybe moon mercury? Something with moon and expression. Like emotions expressing themselves without you even trying. Hm... Not sure where to begin with this one.

When it comes to being spontaneous around new people, I get a serious case of Moon(Aquarius) square Ascendant(Taurus). It's so frustrating! I'm sure that's the shyness part. In general there is sometimes a problem with communication. I like deep and intimate connections so anything mediocre is a mental turn off at times. Maybe singing is an emphasis on all the repressed communication?

These are the only aspects that come to mind...?

Mercury and Moon on the Midheaven
Venus Conjunction Saturn
Moon sextile Venus
Moon sextile Mars
Venus trine Mars

Depends on the song. If I sing # 1 Crush by Garbage or Amy Winehouse's song Back to Black - I get choked up and it emotionally clears me out. Not sure what meanings these songs have for me.

Sometimes it's a song that I can relate to on a personal level. Sometimes, I find myself in songs and certain ones explain an era in my life.

Cancer moon. Moon trine Neptune conj Jupiter. Third cusp cancer. Mercury in Taurus in the 12th. Venus in Pisces in the 10th. My moon also sextiles Saturn in Taurus and Pluto in Virgo. Some emotional intensity and control.

I have moon and venus in Gemini

And merc sun and mars in cancer

I tend to get emotional listening to minor chords and a lot of tonal qualitya favoring minor and 7th chords
Literally if a song or note plays

It hits me it makes me tear
In actually one of only guys who is ashamed to head a friend sing in public in fear I will have an emotional button trigger and cry

Sad but true
