Since the ascendent is our physical appearance and such, and having people's personal planets aspecting our ascendents describes the type of attraction they would have…

what if we had plastic surgery and altered our appearances…

would those who have their personal planets aspecting our ascendant still be attracted???

What about those who don't have their planets aspecting our ascendent, but the plastic surgery we have would make us look like the ascendants that they would be attracted too… would they then be attracted?

For example say if you're a cap asc and had plastic surgery and now you resemble a leo asc or whatever, would those who are attracted to leo asc, now be attracted to you?

This is actually a very interesting question and I'd be curious to hear responses.

Megan Fox and Pamela Anderson are said to be "beauties" ,but both have altered their physical appearances. And I am sure there are numerous other Hollywood "beauties" and "hunks" who have done the same(Tom Cruise had a nose job when young and straightened his teeth too)

Based on whom they'll attract; I am guessing that there would be a definitive increase in attention from differing people(all of a sudden.LOL)

This is true for me . Profound perspective

Come to think of it, there are people I look at and think "Wow,that is gorgeous"! But never give them a second thought.

And then there are those who stay/linger in my mind for a while.

Usually those that linger have aspects to my Mars/Venus. Even the sextiles and the trines are enough.

I think of a guy who still finds me attractive now with all my make up and how much better and slimmer (just a little bit) I am now, different sense of style etc, who also found me attractive when I looked really..... not so attractive then to say the least. If our physical appearance can change drastically and yet someone can still find us attractive, it means that there is more than simply appearance when it comes to ASC. It is still our social mask, our external energy, the gateway into the rest of our personality and chart.

I look different but my humor is the same, the way I am around people is the same etc.

Nice post. I support you on these thoughts. I feel that PS will change our physical bodies, but the definitive traits of our Ascendants will remain as undertones to our personalities, regardless of how we progress [in body, spirit, and astrological standing] throughout the years.

It seems like we have a lot in common! I feel your pain... I have Saturn and Chiron loosely square my ASC, but square my ASC nonetheless, and for me I've never felt the need to have original features so you're lucky that you can make that argument with yourself to begin with. I've always been driven for perfection [Moon-Chiron con. in Virgo] and I've gone to therapy but until my critical placements see physical results, I will not be happy... it has nothing to do with vanity, it is literally about peace of mind. I'm aiming to get the money for my surgery asap and it would be a dream come true to have it done in the next 6 months. I am a Libra, which doesn't help matters much, LOL...

But yes, I'm sorry to hear you can relate to this insecurity. I'd be curious to see if you have any major Chironic issues in your natal chart, concerning your ASC, ASC ruler, maybe your Sun and/or Moon too. I don't take photographs really much at all anymore because I hate my nose. I don't want to let this control me, since I'm planning to take action to change it and it's silly to let it ruin my quality of life, but it's hard not to sometimes when I can't even pose for a pic without mentally gearing myself up to hate it...and then hating it.

I am glad someone can relate. I've had many people oppose this idea often saying things like "your nose is perfect" or "if you get it done I won't talk to you" and it only makes it worse. It isn't just about vanity, you're absolutely right and I think the people around me fail to understand that. It is something I seek for my own peace of mind. It's funny.

My nose is disgustingly asymmetric, and I relate to 95% of this. I have Venus in the 1st House, and have the same thought-process when it comes to beautifying myself. July 14th, the day of my rhinoplasty, will be the best day of my life.
