I know someone who has Gemini sun, and my moon is in Gemini, so I had assumed that we had a Sun/Moon conjunction. I checked our synastry and we don't. How exactly does it work then? Is there no way to tell for sure without actually calculating the synastry? I thought it would be like house placements.. Where if you have Venus in Aries, your Venus would fall in my 12th house since it's ruled by Aries. IP: Logged |

I classify any two planets in one sign as a conjunction to some degree. The closer the aspect, the more visible it is your right about the venus thing. If he had venus in aries and you had a taurus ascendant with aries on 12th house cusp at say 2 degrees and his venus was at 5 degree aries, it'd be in YOUR 12th house And vice versa, say he had a leo ascendant with 12th house cusp at 7 degrees cancer and your mars was at 12 degrees cancer, it'd be in his 12th house IP: Logged |

I've kinda wondered something similar myself. If you have compatible elements in your charts but they don't aspect each other in synastry, does that still count for something? I have my Venus in Leo and my partner has his Venus in Gemini and his Mars in Libra. Technically those are sextile both ways, but we don't have these aspects in our synastry chart. Would we still feel their effects? We have various other scenarios like this, most of which don't aspect. For example, I have a couple of friends that were dating for 5 years and just got married. Their synastry is practically non-existent - I would say only 5-6 aspects and most of them are outer planet aspects, maybe only one personal planet aspect. Definitely no Saturn. I realize the houses would play a role, but is that enough? IP: Logged |

You can use the degrees mentioned in the natal chart. Like if my Sun is Aries 14 degrees and your Moon is Aries 15 degrees we sure will have a conjunction, but if it is more like 7 and 28... nope, the orb is way too wide. Also, with houses and without using degrees, you can only say for sure if the house in question encapsulates the whole sign. Otherwise early or late degrees might slip out. For example, in a synastry chart I posted in the other subforum yesterday, the other person has Gemini on the cusp of their 5th house, but my Gemini Moon, sitting within the first few degrees of Gemini, falls into their 4th house, because the end of their 4th house sort of stretches into Gemini a bit. I also believe in two planets in one sign being a conjunction of sorts. It's a symbolical conjunction. If those are the same planets (two Moons, for example), I always felt it pretty much like a real conjunction. IP: Logged |
