What can you say about this aspect in synastry? is it basically made for failure? I've mostly read bad things about this aspect in a relationship, saying things like unfaithfulness and delusion are usually involved. Can be unstable. Or that even if the relationship is over, one person usually never gets over the other, kinda like unrequited love. So far its still painful.

I had this with a guy I'm not over yet, and the neptune sq venus aspect is said to have one of the partners idealize the other one through rose tinted glasses which is only half true for me. I still till this day see good in him and am magnetically attracted to him, but I also know his dark side which is pretty nasty.

So please give me your insight/experience on this, because it's driving me crazy! thanks

The couple I know have been married for 30 years. The Venus (guy) idolizes her (Neptune). Even after all these years he still thinks she can do no wrong.

It can be kind of annoying to see sometimes. Even when Neptune is acting bad the Venus is still defending and putting her on a pedestal.

Do you know if the couple has saturn in their synastry? That could be the glue that keeps them together. My sun is opposite his saturn and he just seems to never really leave my life (mutual friends plus he just sneaks in sooner or later)

So weird. Because I'm the neptune person and he's the venus, yet I feel like I'm the one whos being deceived and always making excuses for him, not seeing the picture clearly. It's usually HIM that's very vague, always unclear of his intentions, hard to get a grasp on...

I just looked and they do have some saturn aspects.

I don't know if the square makes things tricky. Does he have a natal venus square neptune?

Neptune COULD deceive Venus, even if unintentional. They may promise things that they intend to fulfill but don't. Neptune may proclaim love that they don't actually feel.

Venus could be drawn into a world of promises and lies that even Neptune isn't fully aware of. Thus, either may be put on a pedestal.
Unfaithful, I think it's possible but in any chart all of these things can be balanced out. Without seeing full Natal and synastry it's difficult to say for sure. So not to worry right now.

Think when it comes to Neptune, the roles easily switch back and forth. Sometimes its the Venus person putting Neptune on a pedestal, sometimes it's the other way around. Neptune can be very confusing and it gets rid of boundaries.

Ive had Neptune Venus aspects in synastry and it always was back and forth. And since I have the conjunction natally, i can be very deceptive and it's not like I'm trying. I do both he idealizing and I get idealized. But I always get tired of trying to be the person people think I am.

Usually conjunctions, trines, and sextiles have few problems but squares and oppositions imo are tricky. Yeah, he's got venus sq neptune which makes him delusional and always confused but I was hoping his venus sq saturn would at least balance it out somehow.

Oh, in reference to my post above. I have Venus square Neptune natally. It's the only aspect to Venus and it's in 12 so it has the full Neptune experience. lol

But, I've never been unfaithful.
The illusions, yes, sometimes it's tough as I'm not aware of it. (both planets in synastry May not be aware of the illusion)

As for unfaithfulness. Neptune aspects would make it -easier- for someone inclined to be unfaithful to cheat but I don't think Neptune makes a cheater. Someone who is used to deceiving could easily get away with cheating, but that doesn't mean they will do it. If someone only saw the good in you and believed everything you say, it would be easier to cheat than if they were totally hard and saw your flaws and scrutinized everything you said and did.

It's like, some people could easily get away with murder... It doesn't mean they'll do it.

Yeah, I have sun in 12th house, sun sq neptune and neptune in my third house so I understand the neptunian waves of delusion and confusion. So does having venus sq neptune mean you attract/are attracted to ppl that aren't available (married, teacher, boss) like a forbidden love situation? Or does it make one very idealistic?

Ah, I see so it means it has the potential to but doing it would depend on the person. He didn't necessarily cheat but he had trouble keeping his eyes off other females but that could just be the flirty libra venus. Still not ok though.

Yeah. It would be easy to deceive but most people wont cheat just because they can get away with it. Also Venus loves beauty. If he didn't have very strong feelings for you then he probably couldn't resist staring at other girls. You said you know his dark side but you still idealize him.

Yes, I very often found myself attracted to taken (most often married) people. Once was with a married woman but she actually pursued me.
I finally overcame it.

I suppose you're right, I make excuses for him more than I think. Having a double whammy sun conjunct venus doesn't help either.

Glad you did. Do you find yourself deceiving or being lost in a fantasy world when it comes to romance?

Used to.

I used to basically give people a chance... Kind of like, "maybe they are the one" and sort of pushing yourself to love that person to find out. But you don't really love them, as you discover that later.

So, I spent a long time single and rejected people until one day I KNEW that what I felt was real.
