How can you really tell the differences between the two rising signs for a man? If a man loves luxury, fast cars, expensive watches, designer jewellery, would this indicate a Taurus rising? I've noticed that Taurus rising gives two types of guys - ones who have it all and ones who literally have nothing and really don't care. Leo's seem to have auras that are magnetic and just compel people to them but they also love the nicer things in life. Any clues/experiences to share? Thanks HLIP: Logged |

I'd say if there is an inclination to be a shopaholic, that's a Taurus rising. In my experience, they can be hung up on brand names. "Keeping up with the Joneses" comes to mind with this type. The Leo rising is more self-centered. They like things because they are pretty or flashy to THEM and even though they show their pretties off, they aren't hung up on the brand name. They just want you to be happy for them because they got a new (whatever they bought). They also want you to buy it for them. Even when they have money, they don't enjoy spending as much as the Taurus does. (just in my experiences with these dudes... your mileage may vary) IP: Logged |

I must be the "other" Taurian because I really don't have much and all I care about is the basic necessities. I go more for "inner peace" than outward showing of wealth. If I had to sum myself up, I'd say I'm the "country cowboy"- just into really simple things. IP: Logged |

I beg to differ. though I don't know many Leo Asc as not many people go around sharing the Asc positions(cause not everyone is aware of where theirs is). But I have noted that Sun in Leo and Moon there brag a lot about labels and what they own/can afford. Looking "fabulous" is especially important for the Leo Moon and even when they walk past people who don't afford as much, they don't feel guilty about that. I had a colleague who was convinced that girls didn't like her because of the way she dresses and how "beautiful" she is. Lol When I looked at her positions, she had Moon in Leo conjunct Mars.

I m a taurus with leo rising and i Don t like luxury, shopping and the big show. I dislike prople who go for the grand stage. i dislike everything that is too Big, glimmering, and showy. In fact actually i Don t mind luxury but if so then in the Way of " understatement", the Rich Guy who doesn t show. Or minimalism or Country style. i usually waer H and M or Second hand Stuff or else good quality that ins t showy like Boss, Marc o Polo etc. But never the label sonewhere where others can See it! I m afraid i m quite Self centered although i have a Big Heart and are warm, when i feel i m not noticed i become very unhappy IP: Logged |

I ask for birth time and when people won't play along, I go behind their backs looking for birth records or talking to their moms. I've scared a few people off with my astrology hang up. *lol* IP: Logged |

My Mars and Jupiter in Taurus demand quality not name brand labels. My Moon in Leo could care less about the name. It wants *my* pillow and blanket, my own shelf in the bathroom, not just Vanilla but French Vanilla... Make it a game, make a show of it, make it special, make it my own...IP: Logged |

Maybe it's my own Leo Rising speaking (I'm a girl though), but it's all about drama. Taurus Rising doesn't care for that, unless they've got Leo placements, of course. They also seem more solid somehow. Leo likes being noticed. Taurus--don't think so. IP: Logged |

Leo ASCs have swag. Taurus ASCs have a very soothing vibe. IP: Logged |

Hmm i think there is a huge difference. I'm a leo rising and i tend to have to make an effort to not come off as egotistical, arrogant, attention-seeking, etc. taurus rising is generally easily viewed as sweet, classy, etc. Maybe they don't offend others as much with their style/mannerisms because of their traditional vibe. I have Leo rising, and people just notice me.. JK. I like looking nice, and though I would love to have designer stuff, I care more about making sure I have money in the bank. So as long as I look good -- I'm good to go.IP: Logged |

Im a Leo Moon. Yes, looking 'fab' is important to me. If somebody else cant afford as much, why should I feel guilty? I dont brag about what I can afford, nor am I going to deny it. Leos are generous people. I do my bit for others. My gifts would be the most thoughful and most often the most expensive ones. Thats my way of showing love and affection. I work hard to earn my money. If my money buys me expensive clothes, lucky me! IP: Logged |

Ditto. Taurus Asc. here. Since style and fashion seem to be popular standards of comparison, I'll put it like this: I hate shopping. And I hate having to shop for something that I've already bought even more so. That said, I like to be comfortable and look decent enough to navigate a variety of social settings without having to think about my appearance. Those slacks that are on sale? The fade resistant ones with the quality double stitch and just the right cut to go with my dress shoes or my classic black Chuck Taylor's? The ones that aren't too hip or too douchey? Yeah, I'll take three pair in brown, three in slate grey, two in blue, and two more in black. And that equally adaptable long sleeve Oxford button-up? Yeah, I'll take three in black, two in grey, two in white, one dark red, and one more in dark blue. Thanks. The brand name or designer? Who gives a $#@%. Jeans, eyeglasses, undershirts, socks and unmentionables? ...Well, you get the idea. It all goes well together and looks presentable regardless of whether I take it off a hanger or pick it up off the floor. I only have to hassle with buying new clothes once every few years, and I never have to give it a second thought when I'm getting dressed. My face? Staying clean-shaven or grooming a full beard are both a chore. I won't even get into dealing with goofy stuff like goatees. Once every week or so with an electric razor is just fine. I wear stubble well enough. My hair? Again, a nice low-maintenance medium length, thanks. I don't want to worry about having to style it every morning or getting it cut every few weeks. Same goes for cars, vacuum cleaners and other stuff around the house: I'm good with a wrench. Give me something classic and well-built that I can change the belts and bearings on once in a while and keep using forever. --------------- Then again I am also a Leo Mars. So maybe I just save my showing off for other more personal aspects of my life. IP: Logged |

I have Venus in Leo and I love to dress in the best clothes and buy everything that's top quality. I don't buy it if it's cheap. Unless it's discounted. Also I am very generous. My gifts are always expensive and things I put thought into as well. IP: Logged |

Life is just too short. You know? I'm also very low maintenance. I just don't like to fuss too much at all. I don't know what house your Mars in Leo is in. That plays a role. I don't have any other Leo placements to compare with and so, the "Leo" vibe is foreign to me. IP: Logged |

Yeah, I scratch my head at the importance some people put on all of it.I just have the one placement, 4th House, squared my Chart Ruler and further mellowed by some other aspects. So it's a fairly foreign vibe for me too. They say the 4th House Leo placement leads to a certain pridefulness regarding the homestead. And I suppose I do appreciate an honest compliment about my home. But knowing the people who visit are comfortable and at ease there is much more rewarding to me than knowing that they're impressed by its value. IP: Logged |

Thanks for all your replies. They have made interesting reading.I've noted that Leo asc have a smug, cheshire cat grin, Mona Lisa type of smile that shows that they are the cat that got the cream, the Rolls Royce, the latest Royaums, Rolex, etc. which they take to be the best of the best. I've also noted that they don't need to shout to be heard as they seem to get some sort of instant recognition that the "King" or "Queen" has arrived!! Haha Taurus asc seem to be comfortable as long as they are well dressed, are getting the quality they seek (whether it be food, clothes, holidays) and their "class" shows through in a more understated way. There is little need to have the latest of whatever but if they do need something it must be the best that they can afford. Both are lovely rising signs and I find both quite fascinating. IP: Logged |
