EDIT I'm assuming we're talking mentally strong and dealing with the hardships of the wonderful 12th house. The key to getting it to submit is to be in complete and total control. Find your true self and don't ever let that go. Remember where you come from and all that you've overcome. Positvity changes things. Don't dwell on the past or things that aren't in your control, the past is the past and everything has reason. I've gone through tremendous hurt and self issues and it's helped me see the light. I think the 12th house is the most beautiful and misunderstood house! One more thing what's going on with all of the 12th house inquiries lately, it's like every other thread... IP: Logged |

I'd say it's a case by case basis for anyone but a must have is knowledge of it and control of it. IP: Logged |

^ Ooooookkkkk, I'm still voting for Hilary tho. 12th house people I think are exceptional. They have to deal with tremendous internal and external challenges. Learning that things are outside of your control and working with the circumstances you have. Letting go of your fears and facing the things that terrify you the most. Finding your higher power and aligning them with the quest for self actualization and spiritual goals. Having Uranus in 12th though is a real mindf@ck, I will say that. But going through a really difficult Pluto in 12th transit was worth it in the long run. Things needed to come to light in my life and change. IP: Logged |

Here's a short nutshell of some things with me personally. A lot had to do with identity, discovering talents, gifts, and weaknesses. Venus / mercury / Mars (last two conjunct) Knowing who I wanted to be, personality, and not being able to fulfill it. Not feeling like I was an effective communicator (still struggle) Feeling like an outcast Not understanding my own actions or how to change them Bad relationship patterns (Virgo) internalized criticism (still struggle!) Just generally feeling like a 3 if everyone else is a 1 or a 2 Having crazy intuition but when others are called out or I voiced it, it was denied, then I doubted my intuition Intuitively knowing that I'm a bit different and not accepting as a treasure and actually identifying it as a large fault Escapism... Big big big time! Still a struggle on occasion. Just wanting to immediately drop stressful/frustrating things Once getting a grip on *almost* all of those things I feel more capable of bringing out gifts that the 12th offers and putting them into the world, into my life, to do positive things. To actually be able to USE that energy rather than it running rampant and my not understanding what the heck is wrong. I could probably damn near write a book on it and my personal stories.

I am talking about mentally, physically, spiritually, hidden, not so hidden, whichever you have. Is it the kind of house that denotes strength? They say athletes can have active twelfth houses so there can be a physical component that isn't always hidden. It's like superhuman in some cases. Is this the house of the gifted? IP: Logged |

^Absolutely. I don't know why but the 12th house reminds me of criminals(like murderers, rapist, etc) who turn around after being imprisoned. We all have those bad, dark sides and once controlled it blossoms beautifully. IP: Logged |

So you think of a criminal who spends all his time working out and bettering himself while he is in prison? I can see that scenario but I also see plenty of folks who never get in trouble to begin with and are just gifted in some extraordinary way. I can also see the obscure person who experiences some kind of fated, posthumous fame they never knew about or intended that just happens and they have no control over it whatsoever and never benefit except in a small way, like, their name being known. No I mean like bettering themselves spiritually, not religious necessarily but just the whole spirit is lifted from the clouded darkness. I used prison as an analogy for us 12th housers because we are in the prison of our heads. IP: Logged |

What about the twelfth house being active in people who are disabled but have an extraordinary, supernatural gift of some kind, like a savant?Do you think this is where savant abilities are in the horoscope? IP: Logged |

^ Some of those abilities are activated by an accident. Daniel tammet, a well known savant because he can describe his ability and socialize well, had his activated with a seizure. I don't know his birth TIME, so houses are unknown but that might be like a transit playing a part in that also. Possibly Pluto? (transformation) Idk... Just throwing it out there. There is some other guy who was hit in the head with a ball and now can recall the weather for any previous day... Even 20 years ago - instantly. IP: Logged |

I wouldn't take it that far. I think there's a reason for everything and a lesson to be learned from people like that. It's because of a higher power, I wouldn't say its the zodiac. IP: Logged |

Exactly, I don't think you can know beforehand what lies in a person's 12th... Or patterns of the 12th. It's like exploring new land for each and every person. IP: Logged |

I don't know if it's Pisces because I never met one that was that out of the ordinary - savant like - or anything.I am just saying it is one possible way 12th house shows up - not that every twelfth houser is a savant. Obviously we all aren't! What about Mars in the twelfth? It can easily show up in any twelfth house ruled activity even ending up in the prisons, working in a hospital, social worker, nurse, prison worker, librarian or even someone in the midst of a serious mental illness - even to the point they are extremely disabled. I looked at Elizabeth Smart's chart because she is one person that I can think off the top of my head that was help captive by others and she has Neptune in her twelfth house. I was expecting to see a bit more but at least there's something.
She was kidnapped for religious reasons and the ruler of her twelfth house, Saturn, is in Sagittarius. IP: Logged |

I hate my sun/saturn conjunction in the 12th. If I could wish away something in my chart it would be that.IP: Logged |

I think all the twelfth housers on the forum are much stronger than they realize and their twelfth house can become their greatest treasure of inner strength and character. As far as strength, I can be pretty strong but also really weak. I used to be extremely weak physically and my relatives compared me to a feather. I am much stronger now, so I am experiencing the other side of things, but I am not used to being able to stand up to people. Being a feather weight did not give me much fortitude. So I am still trying to be assertive without feeling on the verge of a panic attack. Still negotiating that feat. I know some of you struggle with this to a certain degree - confronting people and what not. It just makes me feel sorta breathless, having to do this. I could probably really benefit from assertiveness training. This is probably what I need and afterward I can unleash the full power of the twelfth house bwaahahaha. Anyone relate? This is my greatest challenge - all this negative conditioning from my childhood where I developed the coping strategies a weakling would to survive but they are counter productive and I wish I could be more confrontational without feeling panicky and not fearing the consequences. That's my twelfth house dilemma in a nut shell :/ IP: Logged |

Physically, I wouldn't say that I'm crazy strong, but much stronger than I LOOK - verified at the gym seeing bigger guys lifting the same weight that I just was (and yes, I'm Virgo, so having perfect form was a must) But I do have a bad back so some things are off limits, including running. It even says this specifically in the birthdays book, if anyone has that book and believes what it says.
