What is the effect on the house and the ruler of it if the ruler is in its own house? What have you noticed about it if you have this?I've got my 12th ruler in the 12th (Mercury), and my 6th ruler in the 6th (Jupiter). One of the main things that I've noticed is that I don't seem to have as much of the negative sides of those houses as some do. Those houses seem to have their positive sides strengthened. Is that from the HR being in the house? IP: Logged |

I think it makes the house traits more pronounced and the planets in the house sort of show off more. For example, my 5th house ruler is in my 5th house and it is also the ruler of my Sun sign. As a result, I feel like my Sun's traits, the traits of the ruler itself *and* the 5th house traits are all very noticeable. All the planets in my 5th house play a big part in my natal. IP: Logged |

I have my 8th house ruler (moon) in 8th house. I have read that this means i would like to connect with people's feelings through sex, specifically orgasms And it gives very heightened senses. Basically although my moon is a leo moon, it is on a "plutonian" mode, for plutonian purposes. IP: Logged |

I have my 12H ruler, Pluto, in the 12th [Scorpio]. Pluto rules my Venus, Mercury, NN, and Jupiter. Without a doubt, Scorpio and 12th house issues have been intensely magnified through my life - I must agree with previous comments. I feel that typically, having Pluto here would mean a total 'lock up' of Plutonian powers, but in my case, I feel this placement makes Pluto stronger in a unique way, with more of a 12H emphasis on how it works... and true to the placement, I am my most powerful when I am regenerating myself, letting go vs. holding on, and reaching out to cure others' ills. That would be a very powerful placement! Do you meditate a lot to try to get better control or a good grasp on that energy to learn how to direct it as much as possible, to use it for good? That is one placement that could be powerfully destructive if someone tried to ignore or deny the path Pluto was leading them down, good thing you seem to accept and respect the energy! I have Pluto on AC and I'm well of what Pluto does if you ignore it's guidance....ouch! IP: Logged |

Well, astrological wisdom suggest that when a ruler is placed in its own sign, it "dominates" that house.I think not,I think it becomes lethargic-unless on an angle. I have Jupiter in 8th(the house house of Sagittarius)I think I was very "righteous" about the theoretical views I held of this house and its issues. The reason I say that is because it took a conjunction from transiting Pluto to "shake me up". My belief system changed and I started to assume more conscious revelations. I think for someone with Jupiter(on the cusp of 7th house Sagittarius) the transits can shift them "inside out". More so than my internal change,i think their "physical" life may have been altered completely and psychological change was necessary to "catch" up with their "new" perspective. IP: Logged |

I have always wondered why people b*tch and moan about Saturn in 11H! It's a dignified placement? I have never read anything bad about this. I have Saturn in Leo 11H and I think it's a great placement! Yes, I have to work a tad harder on some "Leo things" but it gives me stamina and a very refined persona. IP: Logged |

I have the ruler of the 6H in my 6H, in domicile. Libra - Venus in Libra.Umm. Yeah, it takes over the 6H. I'm very complacent and lazy. I don't like working. I don't like having to do chores. And I try to avoid crises in my life although they *always* happen no matter how hard I try to bury my head in the sand - I have a Scorpio stellium in that house, following Venus, which I personally experience as repressed energy. I'm not sure I'm "lucky" when it comes to 6H stuff. Err, I have health problems, and I have overall problems functioning in my daily life due to mental problems (overwhelming anxiety and apathy mostly). That's probably because of all the other Scorpio stuff being afflicted in that house. Meh. IP: Logged |

I have 2 such planets. Saturn. I'm afraid it doesn't help me with the 5th house matters but I have a feeling it'll bring me some greens Pluto, 3rd house. I'm not an excellent communicator nor I'm lucky when it comes to my siblings and my immediate environment. It simply adds a Plutonic flavor to my mind and communication style.------------------ I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy. IP: Logged |

I have Saturn in 11th, and I've always wondered the same thing. It seems like it should be a good placement since the 11th is the house of Aquarius and Saturn is its traditional ruler. A lot of people also think it makes a person antisocial or friendless, but that's not true in most of the people I know with it. You can go to astrotheme and look at the list of celebrities with Saturn in 11th and there are thousands! They obviously aren't antisocial friendless hermits. The only thing "antisocial" about me is that I don't do social networking. I like my privacy and have no interest in putting my every thought or private moment on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Just not my thing. That's most likely how my Gemini Saturn in 11th materializes. @DeepFreeze My 12th ruler in 12th is also widely conjunct my Mars in 12th. I know exactly what you mean about overdrive! IP: Logged |

I definitely have sensed both the capability for power and destruction with this placement. As I get older, I'm learning how to better harness and recognize the power of this placement. I've yet to totally grasp it but I'm getting there. I feel it also means that all my potential for psychological healing comes from within. I have the capacity to transcend and be spiritually reborn. It's the journey to this point that can be exhausting. I do respect Pluto's energy and its intensity, since as you mentioned, going against what fate has planned for you is usually a huge way to incur bad karma. Pluto here tells me, I think, that all my power lies within the mind and soul. Being physically aggressive and rash with other people will set me back. Taking revenge will set me back. I've stopped getting into as many fights since realizing this lesson. IP: Logged |

Hmmm I don't like that either...the whole Insta/Facebook/Twitter/Youtube thing so I guess that would make me "antisocial" in that regard but my Sun is in 11H as well as Saturn so I LOVE being out and about, among people. IP: Logged |

Sun in 11th is nice! Happy place for the Sun. My 11th house Saturn rules my DC/ 7th house, so that helps mine. It makes me very attracted to 11th house/ Aquarius/Uranian energy. Plus Uranus rules my 8th, too, so that adds to it even more. Jupiter in 9th sounds great. Jupiter is hands down my favorite planet, but it's hard to not love Jupiter. Someone who's had a very strong spiritual impact on me has his 9th house Jupiter conjunct my Sun and Venus 0°. It sits right between both of them and they're only 1° apart. His 9th house Jupiter lights me up like the 4th of July. IP: Logged |
