I was always fascinated w/astrology since I was a kid, but didn't really have that drive to study it frivolously until I was 13 (17 atm). One day I just plopped myself on the computer and started searching for the history of astrology, and thats how my passion ignited. Discovering birth charts has been one of the best things that's happened to me. I find that I can understand people better, less prone to dislike someone cuz I understand WHY I dont like them (synastry and personal aspects/placements) and best of all I can understand myself better. Scorpio rising Libra sun Scorpio moon Sun in 12th house, sq Neptune (maybe thats why I'm so into astrology) IP: Logged |

Started in 2011 because I tried to figure out a Libra Sun/Gem Moon. I gave up. 3 years later I finally understand him. And here I am I had zilch knowledge about anything prior to him. Funny thing is that now I realize that my entire life has been riddled with Gemini Moons. Most my friends from highschool have one. Other people I worked with. Some of those coworkers boyfriends were Gem Moons too. Quite odd actually. It's a lovely moon. IP: Logged |

I've got Sun in the 12th square neptune too!My mum got me into astrology. She discovered it when she was in her 20s at a a bookshop back in the 70s. She said it took her weeks to get up the courage to actually buy the book lol (she grew up in a conservative household. Not that my grandparents were particularly austere, just conservative) Anyway, when I was growing up, whenever I got mad, my favourite way of showing my anger was the silent treatment and so I'd get quiet and cold and my mum would say exasperatedly "You and your Moon in Capricorn" or if I was being stubborn she'd say "You're such a Taurus rising." Eventually, I took her books and started reading it just so I'd know what she was talking about, haha. But the more I read, I couldn't believe how accurate it was, so I read as much as I could. I never thought of it as being weird because it's my mum who talked about it Now I say the same things to my friends and most of them have really picked it up IP: Logged |

I was a kid... maybe 8-9 years old?I was in the grocery store checkout with my grandfather and I grabbed one of those tightly rolled monthly horoscopes for my sun sign (Virgo). The only reason I knew I was a Virgo is because his birthday was close to mine and he always used to do things and then tell me "it's a Virgo thing, you'll understand someday." After that, I started reading the astrology books at the library. Keep in mind that being a child of the 80s, internet was not in every home. Heck it was "cool" if you had CABLE TV (lol!) but I digress... I started freaking out my boyfriends talking about Venus and Moon placements and what our challenges may be, so I backed off a bit. When I got married the first time (I was 19), I married a very religious man and astrology and some of my choices in music caused a lot of friction, so I simply gave it up for a while. I didn't get reacquainted with it until I was about 26-27 and I didn't get serious until I was 30 (I will be 36 in a few weeks). ------------------ “Most people would rather be sheep than stand on their own with antlers on.” IP: Logged |

My father was an astrologer, and I've always been interested in it…. I new from I was a child that I had moon in pisces and ascendant in cancer But it was first when I was about 16-17 I saw my whole chart again and discovered the rest of my placement…. then I was running around with only that info for a couple of years, but I always read about it on the internet, read about the placements, the planets, then discovered the different aspects and house placement… and today I am 24 and practically know everything, but still I am learning new stuff!Astrology has both helped me, but the first years when I didnt knew much I felt it was also holding me back a little… but now when I think I really understand my chart it feels like astrology can REALLY seriously help my life to get better, and I don't know where I would be without it! It has helped me understand so many things, and I have always been criticizing astrology and thought that it wasn't true, but I constantly got to face the truth, because it is so accurate and fits everything…. how else could I be able to guess random peoples placement and signs, and guess people birth time even? I am able to foresee events, and be prepared for them I hold everything a secret to people though, not even my dad knows I am into it… astrology is my own thing, and something I only practice with 1 person, the rest of the world does not need to know about it, and never will, not even my children (If I ever have any) either. A guy insisted I learn it, I doubt I'd have bothered otherwise. He was teaching me the Western Mystery Tradition and astrology is important to that. His aunt loaned me a book by Linda Goodman so that's when I first started reading her. I wasn't expecting much out of it at first but I got drawn in enough that I started to experiment with it. As I looked up my chart I also made "random charts" (each placement different) as I wanted to compare & contrast them, to see if all the charts fit me. It didn't, only my actual chart had a lot to say about me that was accurate. As that then became a way to explore myself it appealed to my Scorpio Jupiter. I then drifted away from it for the most part but at some point I got into studying archetypes, which I saw astrology as being related to and began to view astrology as psychic energy that came from us and our imaginations (and the names we gave planets and constellations) so I got more into it. Friends started asking me to do their charts and so I did, including for the skeptics, I wanted to see what they said about it. To my surprise everyone was saying I was accurate, even one that had so many conflicting aspects that I was sure I couldn't be getting right but she said I described the inner conflict she walked around with all the time well, one that she'd never been able to explain to anyone before. Even the skeptics said I was right, though they said things like I already knew them so I just focused on what fit and ignored what didn't, treating it like a cafeteria. In those cases I'd show them various books that described their placements and then show them what it said when in other placements (which are not the same) which I know unsettled one. And that definitely appealed to my Scorpio Jupiter because it was giving me a window into the mind. I also found it very useful to fix a relationship when counseling failed. Some time later I found it worked really well into getting insight into some people and how to get along with them (which appeals to Libra on the Scorpio cusp side) so I took it up again. My story is the same. I had never dated a Cancer prior to my current partner and wanted to know everything I could to prepare myself. Little did I know there was so much more to it and 6 months later I am as fascinated as ever! I wholeheartedly agree about someone else mentioning it being life-changing since I do see and understand people differently. You do have to be careful though - not letting what you read become a self-fulfilling prophecy - at least that has been my lesson. You can really let a good relationship turn sour if you interpret everything you read literally. IP: Logged |
