Strong word there & I realize it's rude to make generalizations, but that is what I feel about a certain sun sq. pluto person in my life. Lately he has prodded for info about me and what I'm doing, but if I ask him the same types of questions, it's off limitsFrustrating! Especially as I'm trying to get to know the person better. Anyone with this aspect care to explain this more? Are you more private than you would like others to be? IP: Logged |

LOLOLOL. Not hypocritical. I'm very private and fiercely protective of my boundaries. I have to be since I used to be very open and willing to help people, and got burned very badly. I am more controlling about the image I put out and career decisions, but not of other people. I'm very good at reading BS (even said that in the bday book!), so I will call you out on it, I get your frustration though. I'm pretty equivocal on the info I ask people and the info I get out. I don't typically ask the deep stuff unless I really know you well. IP: Logged |

I would love more elaboration from people with this aspect because my partner has it and I am still trying to understand him.I thought at first it was just him being a typical Cancer - slow and careful to reveal himself and "side-stepping" any direct questioning - but I'm finding it goes much beyond that. I totally agree about one with this aspect holding their cards very close to their chest. He will not answer anything he does not want to, especially if he feels it will open him up to criticism or make himself vulnerable. I find that most of the time if I ask him something on a touchy subject he will dance around it until I back off, and then after a few minutes of quiet he will come find me with an answer/explanation. I interpret this as him wanting to have the right words to say and not to misspeak in the heat of the moment. I wouldn't necessarily call them hypocritical. In my experience, my partner will not ask me any more questions than is necessary to get a satisfactory answer to his question. Once he has the facts, he drops the subject. That is I guess you could call his "b/s" radar in effect. In contrast, I have the Sun trine Pluto aspect, so we are polar opposites in this regard - I am an open book. In all honesty I probably offer up way more information than is necessary to him but I just can't help myself! lol IP: Logged |

I have this aspect. Bella, I didn't know you did, too! quote: Originally posted by margym0o: I totally agree about one with this aspect holding their cards very close to their chest. It's kind of simple, really. Sun square Pluto gives a person the feeling that they are deeply flawed. Pluto is constantly telling the person's sun, their core, that there is something fundamentally wrong with them. So people with this aspect control their outflow, out of fear of the other person eventually discovering the fact that they are not good enough. Or that they have been pretending to be a better person than they actually feel like, inside. If you look at it as a self-esteem problem instead of a hypocrisy problem, and treat it with sympathy, the sun-Pluto person is more likely to trust and open up a bit.

I would hardly equate this to a self esteem issue. It's more of what we disclose may be used against us at some point. Until we can fully trust that person, we will keep our cards close to us. IP: Logged |

This is typical for Aquas. Aquas like you to pick things up. They are not gonna tell you much, especially if they are very Aqua and are a bit less mature I'm an aqua with sun square pluto and I find that sun square pluto Aquas are more likely to eventually tell you something about themselves because they are more analytical if themselves than typical Aquas. Pluto square sun is not an aspect to take light of. It means the person felt their privacy was invaded when they were younger. It's to dominate or be dominated. They are very strong people. If you loosen someone with this aspect and allow them to trust you, they will be a lot more sharing than typical Aquas

My boundaries were invaded big time when I was younger, so of course I will fiercely defend them and carefully let people in.

Sun square Pluto are careful of having the proverbial wool pulled over their eyes.So they are extremely vigilant of any underhandedness and can be pretty dodgy themselves to self-protect.As such, they are very suspicious and can be very confrontational if they even suspect foul play. The Aquarius nature you described rings so true. There was a guy,my friends ex, who was like that. He wanted to befriend people, myself included, and would ask questions that I thought were very personal and sometimes not very appropriate. In the process of sharing, however, he would be very slow to come forward to the party. He would always answer questions with "I see", "Okay"," Perhaps" etc. After you have written an essay about yourself. I couldn't understand him so we drifted apart and haven't heard from him since. My sister has the opposition to Pluto and she "see saws". She will open up completely about herself and share. But once she feels taken advantage of or under-appreciated for bearing her soul, she closes up,becomes defensive and swears "never again". I have the sextile aspect and as another Know-flake wrote,I tend to "over-share" LOL IP: Logged |
