Mars-Neptune, perhaps also Venus-Neptune. Can idealize the lover and put the lover on a pedestal. Initially only sees the great qualities in a new partner and thinks that this partner will be 'the one', almost every single time...however, just as quickly falls out of 'love' when faults in the partner can no longer be ignored, but may try to change partner for the better or hold onto the fantasy. I have experience with Mars-Neptune and feeling this way.

Quick lust makes me think of Mars and Venus in aspect, usually a stress aspect, with either [or both] planets falling in the 8th. When you say someone has a hard time loving/being loved but wants to find a real soul mate, I instantly thought Venus in aspect to Saturn.

Venus rules my 1st and 8th
Uranus rules my 5th
Mars which rules my 7th is also 12th

It's like falling in love with a car and later discovering that the seats suck on long journeys, it stumbles when you take off. The color doesn't look like it matches in certain lights.
It makes a noise every now and then and also figuring out that it actually doesn't fit who you are. It looks like it belongs to some other jackass.

Awww, sorry DF. I've had serious issues with my placements too, when it comes to not seeing someone realistically when we first meet...I idealize the other person, only see great things in her, then slowly but surely have my image - and the potential for true love and acceptance - come crumbling down while I desperately try to save it.

I have Venus conj both Neptune and Saturn and I can actually relate to your destinations for both. I tend to idealize the person and "fall" fast but I don't truly fall completely in love until they pass my tests. I guess I crush easily but like intense crushing. I always felt like you can never truly tell if someone is the right one for you unless you jump in, so until you find the one, anyone can be that one. But once the haze of Neptune fades and I can clearing see that person doesnt live up to my Saturnian strict ideals of love, I bail. However that always takes a long time because I actually think both those planets being conjunct my Venus actually makes me hold onto the illusion longer!

I too have tried to hold onto the fantasy, usually by fantasizing about the beginning when things were rosy or I try to change them into being the person I thought they were too.

I used to hang on to the illusion too but then I'm a fixed sign, Leo, so the idea of a failure is unacceptable.

Once I did make up my mind (not just from an impulsive reaction).
Boom, I was done in every single way and it was certainly no secret. Cold, very snippy with words. There's never going back. Not the next day and not 10 years later.

In the past even when I've made up my mind I stayed for a long long time. It's like I'm constantly pulled between Saturn/reality and Neptune/illusion. But also saturns longevity and neptunes disillusionment, not sure if that really makes sense but they all coexist like that. I'm not washy washy, I always knew exactly what I want but it's like I can see the flaws, but Neptune wants to live in fantasy because Saturn won't give up.
