What's the difference between someone who has Saturn and Uranus in the first house, vs. someone who has them in the 7th (natal charts)?

First is Self, Seventh is Others.

I know but I'm having a hard time imagining how each position portrays itself in the personality.

Saturn acts as a sort of anchor in the chart. Saturn is the planet the in a way structures/conditions the focus of a personal planets, culturally and socially speaking. Having Saturn in the first could mean the native's focus has been conditioned to structure around itself, it's self discovery and the emergence of its identity. The native will be naturally inclined to use itself as a reference point in regards to the functions of the other personal planets. However with structures come limitations, and with Saturn it indicates that this conditioned way of structuring the focus of its life has now become limiting to the growth/evolvement of the native, in one way or another. Maybe the native's focus is so structured around itself that it completely disregards the existence of others?

Having Saturn in the seventh would mean the soul has been conditioned to structure it's focus around its relationships with others. The limiting effect to this however could be that the soul has let itself, it's personal sense of identity blend into the background.

Structures become restrictions which become limitations. Hence why Saturn is sometimes seen as the planet of karmic debt. Saturn represents our conditioned limitations but it also points to the sort of experiences in our lives that are going to make us become aware of these limitations, which are basically two sides of the same coin. It will be through the realisation of these limitations that our society or culture has set upon us that we will have to work extra hard to break through and ultimately restructure.

Uranus shows us where we have chosen for this lifetime to decondition ourselves of beliefs and complexes that have developed over a series of past lives. The type of deconditioning that Uranus will thrust and enforce into our lives will mutually benefit the process that Saturn sets up for us.

So going back to Saturn in the first. Life focus structured around the self, etc. but Uranus is in the ninth? Once we have realised the limitations of Saturn and begin the hard work towards creating new structures, we open up the gate to Uranus in the ninth. We will begin to rebel against the ideologies or spiritual/religious beliefs about our existence within and relationship with the world and universe. From here we will begin to establish original and authentic beliefs, radically changing our life focus structured around our self identity.

Thus, Uranus in the first will correspond to breaking away from and deconditioning beliefs/complexes that are inhibiting soul/growth on the premise to individuate (discover and reach it's highest potential). Uranus in the seventh will correspond to relationships.

Its tough to tell the difference,but it is there;

Saturn in 1st- Acts responsibly and considers maturity a part of their nature.

They instinctively "know" themselves to be capable,are very hard on themselves and expect to achieve a lot.

Their mantra;"I am responsible, I am going to be the manager."

Saturn in 7th- Doesn't see themselves as very disciplined,responsible or capable.

They often need confirmation from others i.e awards,applauds,encouragement,recognition, a task etc before they acknowledge this quality in them-

Their mantra:"My co-workers say that I am responsible,they say I am going to be manager"

One always "knows" and the other needs support and encouragement to come to the same realization.

With Uranus, it is the same;

Uranus in 1st "owns" the fact that they are changeable, disruptive, easily bored and like trying new things.-

Their mantra :"I will never be happy with the same thing. I need constant change to feel alive."

Uranus in 7th doesn't own that part of their nature and so others point it our to them by stating; how easily bored they are, how disruptive they can be,how they are so eager to try new things all the time etc.

Their mantra: " People say that I am never happy doing the same thing. Others often say i need constant change to feel alive."
