I have pisces ascendant and saturn in the first house. I think because of that, I like the music I like because of it.Pisces ascendant - I like music with a lot of tune, and feeling. Saturn - Sometimes I like dark and depressing music. Saturn is melancholic. Most fire-y people can't believe I like such boring music (I have fire the least). Some artists I listen to: The KVB

I have a 1st/12th H stellium in Libra.
MC in Leo.I am a singer-songwriter.
Learned to play piano by ear at age 6-7. Not sure if these placements show this TBH. We also have to consider that both my parents were and are musicians.
My uncle is a musician, and my grandparents were singers, actors, writers, painters. I was immersed in the arts growing up, so irrespective of astrology, it would probably have rubbed off to some degree.

Ah, sorry about that.
I must not have read properly.I like mostly ethereal, atmospheric, classical, organic, earthy, soulful. Mostly minor keys. Complex harmonies.
Depth music, if you like.
I have to be moved by it, or I don't even hear it. I like very few "fun" or lighthearted songs. I don't tend to like bands or albums, it is almost always by song. I also have Saturn on AC.
Pluto on AC probably brings the need for depth and transformative experience - that will extend to my music taste and expression. IP: Logged |

I see. The ascendant can tell a lot by what we like. Not only music, but movies too. Because of my pisces ascendant, I like fantasy movies. My friend who has aries ascendant, prefers action movies. It makes sense. ------------------

Never thought I'd see anyone say 'shoegaze' as a favorite genre.  Awesome! I love shoegaze music, darkwave too for the matter. I have 5 astral bodies in Scorpio, so any song with themes of struggle, power, domination, alienation, sex, vengeance, loneliness, rebirth, etc. appeals to me. I like Goth music. All of my Scorpio bodies fall in my 11th, and I love shock rock and glam rock. Some of my favorite artists that could fit into this: David Bowie, Alice Cooper, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Bauhaus, Joy Division, NIN, Concrete Blonde, Hole, etc. I agree with Saturn influences making one prefer melancholic or contemplative music; maybe even classical. I'm Saturnine and have played classical instruments, I also like some classical music. For modern music, I like heavier songs that make me think. IP: Logged |

*High five!* I like siouxsie and the banshees too! Another reason for my dark choice in music can be scorpio mars trining ascendant, now that you mentioned scorpio I can play the violin, flute and a bit of piano, and these are some classical/traditional instruments. (Saturn in my 1st house). xx ------------------

We have the same music taste I like goth, new wave, grunge and some modern alternative music, some metal. It really depends on my mood. I'm usually more down than amped up so I listen to the more subdued music more. I'm very saturnine too. I like depressing music. Sad lyrics, sad melody. However, I can enjoy anything as long as there is a nice melody. But for me to really feel an emotional connection to it, it's usually kinda depressing. IP: Logged |

It's nice to see more people with similar taste in music! xx You guys should check out the artist called BLOUSE. Hearing from your taste in music, I hope you'll like it. It's a bit depressing but the tune is very Pisces-like at the same time. So it's like a Saturnian and Water element mix. xx ------------------

Cool! I love Siouxsie Sioux, and almost all darkwave music. Have you listened to Peter Murphy's new CD? I feel that Scorpionic people are absolutely inclined to like darker or heavier music, but just as easily, we can appreciate lighter music too [since every dark side has its light side  ]. Scorpio Mars is an amazing config. I have my Mars in the 8th and it makes me feel like a Scorpio Mars. Also, props for playing such a variety of amazing instruments! That's so awesome. It's a pleasure to meet someone with a similar taste in music. I feel that Goth/darkwave is under appreciated, personally. I fluctuate between being contemplative and high energy, so I like artists who produce music with a variety of mood and meaning (Bowie is an especially good example of this, and he's also very Saturnine and Aquarian, unsurprisingly!). Saturnine people are very inclined to appreciate things that are heavier and more serious in nature. I think Piscean people can also appreciate 'sad' things that they can emotionally connect to. I'm Scorpionic above all, Piscean second, Saturnine third. And I love things that are sad. I appreciate happiness, but sad or contemplative music is special to me [and gives me inspiration to write]. This is my guess for music genres and their planets:Saturn: Slow, low-pitched, dark (dark wave, shoegazing) artists: The KVB Neptune: Tune and feeling (synthpop) artists: grimes, blouse. Mars: Loud music with a lot of beat, releasing anger (rap) artists: eminem, etc. Jupiter: Victorious music, optimistic, happy (nursery rhymes, festival music) songs: jingle bells, happy birthday. Venus: Graceful and party music (pop/dance/etc) artists: General mainstream music. (venus is known for music itself) Uranus: Foreign music, extremely different and unheard of/unique. arists: anyone you can't imagine of (lol). Pluto: pluto don't like music it seems. saturn + mars: frustrating anger that needs to be released (rock/metal) artists: (Idk many rock/metal bands sorry, but I think you might know). Moon: emotional music with meaningful lyrics. (country music, classical) artists: whitney houston, adele, taylor swift. Jupiter + mars: Motivating music.

I already know M83 lol! But it was a long time ago I used to listen to one of their songs. I think it was midnight city, but you're right they are pisces like in tune.xx ------------------

Electronic, drum and bass, FUNK, hip hop.. ambient when i'm at home, but the BASS, anything with tons of reverberating bass will win me over.
Infected mushroom, justice, pendulum, deadmau5, opiuo, vibesquad, sub focus, nujabes, gorillaz, bonoboI think all that uranus on my chart between my asc and sun is why I love futuristic sounds, synth, etc
The pluto aspects, scorpio 8th house energy i'd guess is what add to my preference for music that is "dark"
Mars in aries with the squares, probably why I like energetic "in your face" music, music that feels like the soundtrack to a battle scene hahaha. I seem to prefer music that has minimal lyrics or vocals, I think because half the time I can't understand what they are saying, and would rather just enjoy the sounds. Moon sextile both Mercury and Venus
