Just curious if there are certain signs that healthcare workers (PSW's, nurses etc) tend to possess. I'm talking about sun, moon or ascendant. IP: Logged |

I've noted that the 6th house plays a role. The individual could have any Ascendant. But if the outer planets;Neptune,Pluto,Uranus are collected in the 6th,then they would have an interest in health -related matters. Some become doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, dieticians etc. So I would look out for anything in the 6th house; especially for Sun, Mercury,Jupiter ,Saturn,Uranus and Pluto. IP: Logged |

Hmm. Moon on an angle... The Cancer I know has Moon in Virgo conjunct the ASC. The Pisces I know has a Leo Moon conjunct the MC. No 6H planets. I have a huge 6H + Virgo Moon and I can't see myself working in healthcare... except maybe mental health. /shrug. IP: Logged |

Oh yes, I forgot to mention;Pluto,Saturn,Neptune,Mercury and Moon on the angle can also play a significant role in a person deciding to go to this area of work IP: Logged |

I just realised there are quite a few nurses in my family and so far they seem to have either cap or aries sun. I can't ask them their other placements without getting a weird look.IP: Logged |

My mother is a Nurse Practitioner. She has her sixth house cusp in Aries, with no planets there, but her venus is in Scorpio conjunct her ASC in 12th house along with mars. She is a Scorpio ASC, Sagittarius sun, and Pisces moon. She has always wanted to work with people, and actually wanted to be an obstetrician initially. IP: Logged |

Honestly, I work with nurses in all of the Sun signs. There may be something else at play, like the 6th house, but it seems like anybody could get into nursing these days if they really wanted to. The same can also be said of nurse aides, and even NPs (since they're nurses, as well). IP: Logged |

But that’s the problem most people get into nursing for the money not because they actually care about people. IP: Logged |

First time I 100% agree to your post. Lots of immigrants take on nursing or PSW work just to be able to immigrate into countries in the West because our population is getting older (Canada, US, UK and etc). There not bad people, I'd say 90% of immigrants just want a better life, are hoping there newly adopted country will allow it but get $hit on by most of the population since there at the bottom of the barrel. But if they had another option they would have taken a different path. My Planets ========================================= ☉‘ ♊, ☽ ♈, ASC ♑, ☿ ♊, ¡÷ ♉, ¡ö ♋ , ♃ ♒, ♄ ♏, ♅ ♐, ♆ ♑ IP: Logged |

People get into nursing for many reasons, but I can promise you that getting rich is not one of them. The pay does not match the work that we do. When you take into account the cost of a nursing education required to become a nurse, you barely break even as a nurse. I don't know a single nurse driving a BMW or Porsche. Many nurses continue to work well into their 60s or 70s because they cannot afford to retire at a comfortable age. What I hear from most new nurses is that they want job security, which is a fair enough assumption. Nurses are in demand, all of the time. We can afford to pick and choose our hours and jobs. But the overwhelming majority of nurses that I've met and worked with seem to truly care about their patients and the quality of care that they provide. So please do not spread misinformation about this profession. There's enough out there already. IP: Logged |

Depends on the place..You can complete a four year undergrad in Canada for $35,000 and thats in Sciences or Engineering not Arts, even cheaper in Europe . I know lots of people from the US coming here because its cheaper. All the people I know that went into nursing did fly by night community college ....which cost about $10,000 - $15,000 or the cost of a brand new car. Some even became nurses "as practical nurse" meaning they apprenticed and never paid a penny to go to school for it. Its a misnomer to say that nurses are rich but there is some truth to it if you consider the perspective of the person that makes that claim. If you have limited means or coming from a poor background and need quick cash nursing is the best option or become a cop, hence why there is so much problem with policing. Nursing may appear as "rich" to the people doing that type of work because they don't know any another way to acquire money its that or Fast Food that is there perspective. FYI: Half of my Dad's side of the family are nurses, there Filipino. I choose a different path as I have options. I get what you're saying. From that perspective, it does make sense. But I'm not sure that's what the OP is suggesting...overall, it seems like she's suggesting that people only go into nursing for the money (irregardless of their economic class, since she did not specify). If that were the case, their licensing board will weed them out after a few years. Back to astrology now...
I am a nurse. I'm also a triple Virgo. My 6th house has Chiron in Cancer and Venus in Virgo. I have 3 planets in my 12th house and Pluto conjunct Scorpio MC. Cap ASC. Some of the best nurses that I know have Sun signs in Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Capricorn, and Scorpio. I know several Virgos who are nurses, as well. No quoting, please. IP: Logged |

@StubbornVirgo: With nursing you can make decent money. It really does depend I’m not saying you’ll be rich but you can live comfortably. Especially if you decide to take additional training. In regards to how much schooling costs that depends as well. Community colleges aren’t that expensive. Did you work as a CNA before applying for nursing school? Or did you have any kind of Medical background? My Mom has Moon in Virgo and she went to nursing school. I do have Moon in the 6th house and my 12th house is in Cancer. I don’t have any planets there. I couldn't stop laughing when I read this. The pay is crap for the immense pressure and work that is expected of you. I made more money as a high schooler than I did in my first 3 years as a nurse. If someone goes into any healthcare field for the money, then they are fools. There are far better and easier ways to earn money. A dirty little secret about nursing is that only nurses with at least two years of experience are in demand. New grads, however, often have a very difficult time landing that first job. One of my classmates took 3 years of job hunting to land her first nursing job even though she graduated from a well-regarded nursing program. Anyway, back to the original question. While the 6th house probably contributes in some way to one's career, you also need to look at the 10th house. I have gemini on the cusp of my 6th house and Mars in Gemini in the 6th house. In my 10th house, I have both Saturn and Pluto in Scorpio with Pluto conjunct my MC. Both houses contribute to my nursing career for the following reasons: 6th house Mars: I don't hesitate to advocate for my patients. I don't blindly accept doctor's orders. If an order seems inappropriate for a patient, then I will not hesitate to discuss my concerns with the doctor. 10th house Saturn and Pluto: nursing requires you to think deeply about how the patient's medical conditions all interact with each other and affect the patient's organs and lab values. I frequently have to decide whether a particular lab result is a sign that my patient is headed for trouble and then figure out what I need to ask the doctor for. Doctors will often ask nurses for their recommendation on how to proceed. IP: Logged |

@StubbornVirgo Awhile ago you said you thought I'd be good at nursing based on my chart. So now what? I enjoy helping people and I could offer massage to my patients. Or either work in hospice. IP: Logged |

I'm not replying directly to you, or even responding to you or your goals...I'm agreeing with another person about their post...but okay? By all means, if you want to become a nurse, do so. Don't let a bunch of strangers posting on a public forum make that decision for you. IP: Logged |

Yes I know but why do you say people don't make money as a nurse? I know this guy who's a nurse. And he's going to school for additional training so he can make $60 an hour.
