Topic: Horrific nightmares and Scorpio IC

Im up and im afraid to go to sleep. Every night i dream of something dark chasing me, really really dark demonic stuff. Last night i literally dreamt of a dark lizard that transformed into a green smoke mass that had a deep voice and asked me a question. I didnt answer correctly and it was sucking my soul out. Ive had much worse. Snakes, demons, murderers, rape.I woke up immediately. With the full moon and the death of Robin Williams im even more afraid of what i will dream tonight. I try to keep positive but i hate having repeated nightmares.I read that the IC is the deepest part of the chart and your subconscious, i have it in scorpio and also have pluto in the 4th, does this explain my nightmares? Keep in my mind i dont watch scary stuff at all and im a happy girl. I want it to stop. IP: Logged |

I'm sorry.  This sounds really upsetting. Have you always had these intense dreams? Or are they very recent? If they are recent, perhaps it's being induced by some adverse transit from Neptune to your Mercury, or Moon. I know several people with 4H Pluto and I've never heard of any of them having intense dreams to the point of avoiding sleep. Also, non-astrological question, but are you taking any new medications? Herbal treatments, especially? That could be inducing crazy dreams as well. IP: Logged |

Thanks  , its not recent, ever since i was about 10. Natally, I have neptune square sun, moon and mercury on top. I dont think that helps. I think im very very sensitive to any astral stuff. No new medication, i am reading up on this and trying to control it.IP: Logged |

The shooting dream sounds especially horrific.  I'm sorry this is happening to you...Neptune can make the unreal seem real, fantasy seem like reality, so dreams like this can 'feel' real to you, I'm guessing. I have Moon tr. Neptune and I have vivid, sometimes psychic dreams, and I have also had some bad nightmares...but not very often. Usually only if I take melatonin, which is why I asked about herbal sleep meds. Melatonin can induce insane dreams. Have you tried meditation before bed? Avoid eating too soon before bed time also. Sometimes it really helps for some people to have a noise machine that plays the sound of the ocean or white noise, since this can help calm you down. IP: Logged |

Thank you for the advice i have a tv in my room and ill often sleep with it on to help me fall asleep. It sorta helps and i watch a fun show before so ill have happy thoughts. I will try the meditation IP: Logged |

You're welcome. Let me know how it works for you. Sometimes, the light from a TV, computer, phone, etc. can keep you awake or disrupt a sleep cycle. I've experienced it myself. For some reason, staying on a computer or watching TV too late can make me feel restless or apprehensive about sleeping. It's the weirdest thing. Like I can't shut off my mind, even when I want to. I have Scorpio on the IC and Pluto in the 4th House as well and have bad or negative dreams very frequently (when I do have dreams that is, which isn't very often). Sometimes nightmares like yours where I am being killed or something in that serious nature.IP: Logged |

I did it for about 15 minutes or so, really relaxing!! @mercurian oh my goodness its all clicking together!!!! Neptune square sun moon mercury + most aspected planet and Scorpio ic with Pluto in the 4th AND pisces on the 8th!!!! Recipe for nightmares that's what that is lol. Makes a lot of sense. Yeah, lol. I would think Neptune/Pluto aspects would play a big part in rather negative or traumatizing dreams. I have Neptune sextile Pluto, but it's a harmonious aspect, and I also have Neptune trine the Sun, so it's doesn't manifest how you would think. My Neptune is in debilitated in Capricorn and in detriment the 6th House (Virgo's natural house, which is the sign that Neptune is in detriment with). I also think the 12th House has to do with dreams for the most part (along with Neptune). My 12th house is ruled by Cancer, with it's dispositor; Moon, quincunx Pluto in Scorpio in the 4th House. Quincunx is a challenging aspect - so I think this is one of the main reasons for my negative dreams... along with Pisces ruling my 8th House, and Scorpio and Pluto in the 4th House. My IC is in Scorpio as well. I've also got Moon and Pluto in the 4th, which always made me feel like my soul has been in a dark place before my current incarnation. My dreams are never pleasant to say the least. They're either horrific or sad. :/ I wish I could see your chart! I wonder how much we have in common... IP: Logged |

Please post your chart with transits. I want to see what planet rules your 12th house and what aspects this planet has and would also like to see transits involved. Are these nightmares more recent or ongoing?? For how long have you been having these nightmares regularly?Perhaps looking at your progress chart will be a good idea as well but lets start with your natal and transits.
