I have no clue, but, I am interested in what people have to say about this. I'm not sure what in my chart has this in it but most of the time I am underestimated.

For example - I got a job working in a homeless shelter and the boss I had strongly thought the clients would have eaten me alive. A month or two in, my boss was regretting ever thinking that. I pulled my weight and stood my ground.

They're that bad there?

I've worked with homeless (as a volunteer) and while there are the occasional schizo, tweaker, drunk, and the like, many don't want to get themselves thrown out (and those who get a rep for that sort of thing just won't be allowed in at all in the future). They can sometimes be mean to each other, especially when there's competition (and wow can the vigilante justice against each other be harsh), but typically not to staff & volunteers. Most offenses were sneaking (and then using) drugs onto the premises (and theft was also a problem, and interesting enough it wasn't too uncommon for a homeless guy with a laptop to somehow hack the computer system to pirate movies or music which then got the shelter in trouble).

Many homeless shelters will also recruit the homeless as volunteers to help run the shelters (and provide security).

What is it you did? Some sort of case management?

I don't think this includes me...but I have experienced predators who were very surprised when was able to turn the tables or just didn't flinch under them. And I know some are very surprised when I start talking guns and one guy was stunned when I took my holster off that was chaffing my skin to put my Glock into its safe. I'd think my Texas accent would give people a heads up over that.

But my BFF gives off a very soft vibe. Heck, I'm very protective of her over that...and sometimes she does let herself get walked over (but she's not putting up with as much as she did when she was younger). Even so her resolve inspires me, and just how clever she can be at dissuading her tormentors who try to take advantage of the weakness they sense in her makes me glad we're friends instead of enemies. (A lot of them will never even know she engineered their ruin. She's not vengeful about it, just pragmatic.) I think her Uranus Scorpio might be part of what gives her that hidden steel, at least when it comes to tormentors.

More importantly she's a 9H Aquarius, 9H giving her a bit of fire for her air (and vice versa), and has a 10H Pisces stellium (even her mercury is Pisces). She comes off as a Pisces to me given her somewhat soft, dreamy way of sometimes being, but the 10H is Cappie earth so I can see that earth bolstering her water so she's not as fragile as she sometimes appears to others. In any case she can be surprisingly stoic.

Position - CSW

Some were extremely violent and one night a few staff members were violently attacked and seriously harmed. Police were at the center a few times a week. 911 called several times.

Check my birth chart, can't count the times people have apologized to me for underestimating me.
They always see me as innocent and very vulnerable but alot of them said they were amazed by my inner power and knew they shouldn't mess with me lmao.

My early Virgo Sun in the 8th House opposes my Late Aquarius Saturn in the 2nd
Sun conjunct Mercury & Chiron in Leo in the 8th
Moon in Capricorn conjunct Late Sag ASC
North node in the 12th

Ah, sounds like a government or mental health type of shelter. I don't think we have those in the US. Taking in the mentally ill (as in to get them off the streets because of their inability to function as they're so crazy) does change things considerably (as our jails and institutions that do that here can attest to). I've been around those kind of homeless as well but they generally don't seek out the services for the homeless (and when they do they're often turned away, at least if they're known, and the police spend the most "hassle the homeless" time "encouraging" them to move on).

I know a Cancer (and trained psychologist) who once worked with the criminally insane. I was so furious at his wife for that (among other things) and glad when he quit that job and divorced her. He had some hair raising stories of what went on there. I wish I still had his chart. Still, he handled himself well, but as far as I know I'm the only one who underestimated him, I really thought (and still think) he should not have worked there.

Lol, yep. One, I work with a Scorpio sun (I don't know her other placements). She comes off sweet as pie, goody-good, etc. but every now and then she let's a "s.it" slip out, and she's been with her boyfriend for four years, or share what her favorite alcoholic beverage is. So I know there has to be more going on beneath the surface than what she presents.

My other friend is Sun in Scorpio conjunct Pluto (ALL her Scorpio placements are conjunct Pluto!) and she looks like she's 17, when she's 27. She's also very sweet and quiet so I think most people treat her like she's stupid which is hilarious. It's sooooo entertaining watching her argue with someone and completely shut them down!

Virgo ASC, 7H Moon Pisces, 4H Venus conjunct Neptune, Retro Mars in Taurus. I think it is cute when people underestimate me. Ex hubby made that mistake during the divorce settlement. The mediator who is supposed to be impartial & encouraged me to demand more assets. I had a shark of ann attorney & put a smiley face next to my signature on the divorce decree. Mercury in Scorpio opposes Mars. Mars is inconjunct Pluto & Trines Asc. BML trines ASC. Sun (Libra) conjuncts Uranus. Also, that 4H Venus conjuncts a Scorpio IC. I have a strong inner b--ch.

Yep. Virgo asc and people really really underestimate me. I also have a 4th house stellium of mostly outer planets and mars in the 8th house, I don't eff around!

I think Virgo sac go unnoticed the most! At least this is what it seems like, at work and at all my previous jobs I work very hard and do a lot that deserves recognition but I a, ignored or even worse, belittled. And viragos, even Virgo ascendants, have that strong survival instinct you were talking about.

I'm going to say Pisces sun too. My boyfriend seems like a lost little lamb but then his Aries moon comes out and he's all fire.

Anyone with a soft seeming ascendant or sun and a strong pushy moon will be the kind of person you shouldn't underestimate. Libra sun, Scorpio moon. Virgo asc, Leo moon. Both terrifying people I know that hide under a gentle surface lol.

Are you describing me?
I'm 27 and everyone thinks I'm 17. I have 3 planets conjunct Scorpio Sun and so many people are disrespectful to me. They ask me the most ridiculous questions that no one else would dare ask a human being, especially in a workplace or classroom setting, or out in public, period! I am always being pushed around, even by people who claim they love me.
There are people who act way more brattier than I will ever act, and way more snobbier, but I'm the kind of person who helps out others no matter what. Yet I still have a rep for being like this sheltered person who has everything given to me. I know what its like to be down and out and I've hit rock bottom.
Then if I stick up for myself then they start calling me names because they don't expect it. People try to be so rude to me, or they try to stereotype me as I'm a dork and it's really annoying! I always tell people they need to look in the mirror first and stop judging people. I have a strong Aquarius Mars, so I'm a pretty fair-minded person who does not really hold grudges, I just want everyone to get along.

Mars in Aries in the 12th

I don't get underestimated but they say the 12th house is where your hidden talents are. I have pretty strong placements overall except for Sun in the 7th which gives me too much patience with the few people that are pushy toward me. Eventually I set them at their proper level though.

I have some theories.

-Cancer, Virgo (especially so), or Pisces Ascendant. I've found that these have a very soft, receptive presence, and frequently go unnoticed, even though they do a lot of things worth noticing.

-Placements in the 4th, 8th, and 12th house. Since the water houses are introverted in nature, planets placed in these houses are hidden from the view of outsiders. But once the native knows how to use their emotions to their advantage, they can get a lot done.

-Mars/Pluto or Sun/Pluto

Lol I have all of the placements mentioned.

Cancer Ascendant
Sun/Venus/Mercury/Chiron in 4th
Sun sextile Pluto
Moon trine Pluto
Scorpio Mars

I'm told often that I come across as adorable and sweet looking.

When someone does "try" anything with me though, they've always backed down once they saw I wasn't going to cower away.

This has become more rare as I've gotten older though and while I am approachable I have learned to give off the vibe of "try me if you want to" that is very effective.

I do mma and have done Jiu-jitsu and Judo in the past and people always remark how much stronger I am physically than I look though.

I think my Scorpio Mars and sun/pluto moon/pluto and moon/Mars aspects help give me that inner strength and resilience though.

Venus conjunct ASC...

I can come across as innocent and naive, and really quiet and nice..but that's just my front when I'm not sure if I'll be well-received. I surprise the hell out of people after they get to know me. Venus conjunct ASC is just a pretty greeter for the Plutonium Mars Sq Mercury crazy b*tch within lol
