Barring mitigating factors, I'd say the square. And aspects > signs, as a general rule. IP: Logged |

You think aspects are stronger or can be stronger than the sign? IP: Logged |

It's not as simple as "stronger," rather, the planet in aspect to planet X takes X's qualities in addition to its natural qualities. So, a Leo Venus is still a Leo Venus. It will never be a Scorpio Venus. But it will take its own natural traits (Leonine traits) to an extreme, and can also manifest definite Plutonian traits. So there can be over-the-top lavishness, "larger than life" type of love, extravagance in the expression of romantic feelings, impossible expectations; and conversely, great resentment if those expectations aren't met, which in turn can give rise to brooding, vengeance, mind games, and so on. I believe there's often a split in the square and opposition aspects (not sure about the conjunction, although it could work in some instances), where the personal planet can basically function one of two ways: the "original" way i.e unaltered by the outer planet, and the "altered" way, that is colored by the planet it's in hard aspect to. In this case, the Leo Venus would behave in a very loving, generous, albeit self-centered and ego-istic way. It can then be triggered into a Plutonian behavior, after perceived betrayal or rejection, and express itself in a Plutonian manner - intense hate, manipulation, and mental or emotional obsessiveness, for example. This is an ongoing theory and by no means absolute. Just something I've noticed. IP: Logged | |
