What are your top 3 favorite planets and why?You can also list all the planets from greatest to least like I did. But only give me a reason why the first 3 planets made it to your top 3. Optional: You don't have to to do this, but only if you want to. Why are the planets in your top 3 structured as 1st, 2nd and 3rd? For example, why the planet in 1st place is higher than the planet in 2nd place, and why the planet in 2nd place is higher than the planet in 3rd place. My favorite planets from greatest to least are as follows: 1.) Vulcan - (Glyph - Critical Arrow of Logic) 2.) Mercury - ☿ 3.) Uranus - ♅ 4.) Jupiter - ♃ 5.) Chiron - (Glyph - Key to Consciousness) 6.) Saturn - ♄ 7.) Pluto - ♇ 8.) Neptune - ♆ 9.) Pallas - (Glyph - Diamond of Strategic and Methodical Alteration) 10.) Venus - ♀ 11.) Sun - ☉ 12.) Moon - ☽ 13.) Earth - ♁ 14.) Mars - ♂ Vulcan is one of my favorite planets because it is one of the planets which governs our base intelligence; our sense of logic, analytical, critical, discerning and detailed mind, and cognition. Mercury is one of my favorite planets because it is the other planet that governs our base intelligence; our intellect, how we communicate our thoughts and ideas, and reasoning (how we form our understanding and cognition (Vulcan) into a proper and established thought process (Mercury) and then communicate it; reasoning (Mercury). Without these two planets (which are very dependent on each other; so once their energies bind together, they form our intellect), you cannot proceed to any form of higher learning or understanding of anything, period. Uranus is one of my favorite planets because it is the planet which allows us to think up ingenious, abstract and out-of-nowhere ideas with superb creativity to advance our civilization and species as a whole. Jupiter is one of my favorite planets because it adds meaning to our lives and existence with a deep sense of Philosophy and understanding of why we're here, and what our ultimate, ideal goal as a species is. With the knowledge we gain from the world (Jupiter), we then create possible reasons and goals as to why we're here, and make our existence meaningful and have a purpose. And lastly, Chiron is one of my favorite planets because it is our consciousness; our sensitive, conscious mind and awareness, and how we reflect upon and understand our surroundings through our perception (similar to Neptune, except that's our sensitive, subconscious mind, and it subtly picks up influences from our surroundings to intuitively understand something. And it is not our conscious mind or reflection. Neptune is more of our psychic and intuitive planet opposed to Chiron, which is our consciousness and awareness planet) to understand the Universe and how it works with perceptive clarity - in it's truest and purest form, without any filters. In short, those were the reasons why those five planets were in my top 5. (I gave reason to five planets instead of three). (Also, if I were to not include Vulcan, then Mercury is our sense of logic, analysis, intellect, critical, discerning and detailed mind, cognition, reasoning, thought process and how we communicate our thoughts and ideas - like it always was, astrologically... and it would also be in first place for my favorite planets) ~ (I added Vulcan for fun, but if it actually did exist, it would split Mercury's representations so that Vulcan governs half of what it represents (IMO), because Mercury rules both Gemini and Virgo, so Vulcan will then be ruling Virgo instead). And if you're wondering why I added Earth in my list, it's because I believe it to be the modern ruler of Taurus. I created a theory as to how this works on past threads. If you're interested in it, just ask me, and I'll direct you to one of the threads that contains the information. But for this thread's sake, let's not talk about rulers, but rather what the thread's original topic is about, which is what your favorite planets are. Thanks ------------------ ♍ Virgo Sun/2nd/Taurus Decan ♊ Gemini Moon/11th/Aquarius Decan ♌ Leo Ascendant/Sagittarius Decan ♎ Libra dominant Creativity is a gift, Science is but a tool to unwrap it's present. 1. Saturn: I know! Crazy, right? Nah... I have over 25% of my natal influence coming from good ol' grand daddy Saturn, through a Capricorn IC, a Capricorn stellium of Mars-Saturn-Uranus-Neptune, all conjunct, with two of those planets being exalted/domicile. I'm about 55% cardinal-based, as well, and my south node is in Virgo; I cling to routine and convention. Saturn transits usually affect me in a positive way, as I love the structure. Not one of my relationships was without a Venus- or Sun-Saturn contact. It feels superficial and banal without it. And besides, Saturn is so damn pretty to look at! 2. Venus: Ah, lady love. My Venus is in Aries, and with my libra ascendant, I, quite frankly, love love. The idea of love. Being in love. I have Venus conjunct my Jupiter and juno in the seventh house, on my descendant. I live for relationships. I feel like Venus is one of the major primemovers in my life. It gives me a lot of reason to live. And Venus is covered in sulphuric acid. Love hurts? 3. Pluto: Pluto is dark, foreboding, mysterious. The dark horse of the solar system. Hades. I have pluto on my ascendant in the first house, and am very plutonic. I get intense, quickly, and this kind of works in with my above two themes of longevity (Saturn) and passion (Venus), wherein pluto gives me the depth and intensity I need to have meaningful relationships. I have a sun-pluto trine, and I think it makes me have a lot of aforementioned depth. I always come back better and stronger after major life events, having reinvented myself for the better. I feel like I'm reborn after every major relationship, and people say I change a lot in a matter of months. Pluto expands my consciousness in a way. I'm aware of what's beneath the surface. There's ALWAYS more to any and everything. I kind of view these guys as MY own personal guardian angels or patron saints, in a way. IP: Logged |

1. Jupiter 'Cause I love everything about it. It adds meaning, expands mental and physical horizons; gives a talent for teaching, writing, exploring, discovering new things; sees the big picture; adds faith, hope, optimism and energy. 2. Neptune Because ethereal beauty; infinite serenity, bittersweet longing; inspiring creativity; everything soulful; the eternal and mysterious and enchanting... 3. Pluto I mean, let's be real. Without Pluto life would be morbidly boring. That little mofo can shake things up pretty severely - he'll steal every valuable possession from you, leave you out in the cold, naked, with nothing to hold onto except for life itself. That's when you encounter your inner strength, your inner warrior. The dark side is pretty interesting, too. Dealing with your own demons, trying to see the light amid the darkness. Craving that purification and transformation yet being afraid of the loss of "self" and clinging to bad habits. Which side will win? The light of surrender and healing, or the darkness of inner resistance and despair? Ah, how beautifully tragic. Let me add a 4. Venus. Sorry, I have to include Venus, because... Human relations, social events, pleasure, art, affection, sensuality and earthy beauty... IP: Logged |

^Haha, yeah. I was going to add Chiron to my "explanations" part. But yeah, you can do all the planets if you like. I just didn't want to bore or intimidate people from responding to my thread because I am asking for too much, lol.And I really like this... it's a cool way to describe Pluto "Craving that purification and transformation yet being afraid of the loss of "self" and clinging to bad habits. Which side will win? The light of surrender and healing, or the darkness of inner resistance and despair? Ah, how beautifully tragic." IP: Logged |

Haha, okay http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum24/HTML/224883.html As for the Vulcan ruling Virgo part, I now believe Chiron to be the modern ruler of Virgo. Especially because Vulcan only has about a 5% chance of actually existing, lol. But I think it's still a nice theory for Vulcan ruling Virgo. IP: Logged |

Neptune ... Creativity, imagination, love Pluto ... For depth, turning the self inside out, sensation of mystery, the edge it gives to human relating Venus ... Imagination made material, pure pleasure, love I put Neptune first because when I feel it coursing through me it's so wonderful a sensation as if all my cells are dilating. So attuned Pluto second because whilst I like its themes and areas a lot .. They do just feel a secondary thread. I'm also not so sure I could invite it in full on and handle so whilst I want meaningful it also scares me Venus third because pure pleasure can be too much esp without a heavier planet interceding sometimes. But sometimes do need Neptune down an octave .. as an earth sun also it's a way to manage it in a way natural to me Chiron as runner up ... For how it affects time, being outside of normal time, what it demands and challenges and results of that Moon Sun Jupiter Mercury Saturn Uranus IP: Logged |

Neptune Moon Jupiter Pluto SaturnI love Neptune's mystery and depth...and how its traits are unexplainable. I love Neptune's intriguing beauty, and the compassion that can stem from this planet. I'm a Pisces Sun, Cancer Rising, Capricorn Moon. IP: Logged |

I can't choose three... can I use an asteroid instead? And yes, I have the mythological character in mind too, but if you ask me, it's just not the same without the mythology.1. 3 Juno-Hera She has all the traits I've always admired. Regal, honorable, always there to console, never gave up her identity, and always fought back against injustice (she rules the oppressed), and is the asteroid/Goddess of marriage/divine union, which has always been my dream. Tied for first. If it's just planets, then: 1. Venus-Aphrodite I'm a helpless romantic, so being the planet and Goddess of Love just draws me towards her. And I have her as one of my dominants. 2. h57 Proserpine-Persephone I've always felt I had the most traits in common with her, more than any of the others. Always young at heart, but has gone through loss and came back alive and almost unchanged; almost because she came back more aware of the unseen and consoled the newly dead (spirit). 3. Pluto-Hades I've always been attracted to what's taboo and unknown. Also, I picture my lover to be extremely Plutonian. By the way, you have a pretty good theory, and it looks more at the scientific side as opposed to the mythological side. I don't think I've ever seen it like that before. ------------------ -La Sorcière du Temps IP: Logged |

Jupiter - I love everything about this planet… it gives hope, optimism, good times, higher learning and a higher understanding of things. And I love idealism too, but I feel the idealisms that comes from jupiter carries a high moral too, and something that is only positive and good and make things grow into a new and even greater state of mind.Neptune - It creates so much beauty because its so creative. I guess like venus, but I don't have a strong venus in my chart so I understand the creativity from neptune a lot more than from venus. I also love this dreamy, spacey and "far-out" state of mind, but of course there is also a darker side from neptune that involves delusions. But still I think people with neptune afflictions are very interesting people, and they just need to be understood from our society. The third one is hard. But I think I am going to say "the sun" even though its not a planet. I just like its warmth, and they way that sun-dominant people are so welcoming and nice, easy to laughter and cares very much. They are kind of sensitive but more in the way where they really care for their friends and they shine so much in any room they enter. My boyfriend is a sun-dominant libra, and his eyes are SO blue, they almost shine. I love that with a sun-dominant person there is always something kind of shiny on them<3 IP: Logged |

May I ask why you think Mercury is the scourge of society? I have one reason in mind as to why you might think that, but I'm not sure if that's why. quote: Originally posted by Sailor Gemini:

No, you may put any astronomical body you like (including asteroids, hypothetical planets, fixed stars, etc) ~ (as long as it supposedly has an astrological influence - so that you can give a reason). I just put down the main ones in my 12 list. I didn't list Vulcan because I tried not to go into the hypothetical planets (but you or anyone else may if you would like to), as I created my own interpretation of Vulcan anyway. But if it did exist and it gave the astrological influence that I said and interpreted, then it will be my number one favorite planet. Maybe I'll add it to my list one this thread. And thank you. I just tend to look at the psychological standpoint of Astrology. So I guess that's why I'm more of a Astropsychologist than Astrologist IP: Logged |

Heh. Heh. Yeaahhh. Couldn't have been worded better. Top 3: 1.Neptune: Beautiful bubbles of illusion/delusion/fantasy... until they are brutally popped in your eye and you can't stop crying. Fantastical fanatical nightmares and daydreams. "The brightest light casts the deepest shadow." "Wisdom beyond reason." "He who loses himself shall find himself." 2. Saturn: Cause he's the roughest, toughest most misunderstood angel of them all. "The Angel of Light that reveals the meaning of it all." "Lord of the World in us all." "Saturn builds in time for eternity. In understanding the mission of Saturn lies the solution to the mystery of life." "This angel was given the hardest task of them all; to try and test man's soul until he learned to break his self-imposed bonds and go free." "He who is selfish must know fear." 3. Uranus: Crazy-intuitive-original-electrifying-nonconformist-genius-occultist. "Behold I maketh all things new." (quotes explain better than I do...) IP: Logged |
