Some changes are happening once again at work, and it made me ponder an article I read a while back that basically said Capricorn Mars benefits in the work place from the misfortune of others.

Now, obviously, if another person were to get fired at the place of work, there's a good chance that anyone could benefit from the change, not just a Capricorn Mars--but the article went into further detail saying how, unconsciously, Capricorn Mars knows how to use this scenario to his advantage. In said times, he uses his hard work ethic and proven reliability to be "THE" most fitting candidate; this showcase of potential and reliability proves there will not be a second failing... he can get the job done, and correctly. It is during times like this that they are often given more responsibility, hours, perks, et cetera; because someone else failed to perform adequately, they ensure all these areas receive special attention. They most often move up as others are let go, or move down. This is outside the realm of normal bonuses and promotions, per se. It's specifically a cyclical phenomena of one's misfortune being the Cap's own gain.

Thinking back on most opportunities I've had in my life, and not just career-wise, this has kind of been the case with me. Someone messes up, and then an opportunity just sort of falls into my lap. I slowly and steadily do a great job at whatever it is I'm doing, and then I'm handed something I might not necessarily be next in line for.

Anyone else have a similar situation like this and a Capricorn Mars? I'm curious... your placements, and stories!

I'm Cap Mars.

I hadn't really thought about this too much. But it may be true! Not just in the workplace though -- when people need a 'rock' in their life to reply on in hard times...it's generally me that they come to.

How weird. I have a capricorn mars and this is very fitting. For a couple of months until this week, I was doing my job along with 2 others until the people returned from their absence.

Thinking back, I also have had promotions happen to fall in my lap. Everyone's attitude towards me no matter where I work is always "she can handle it". Everywhere I have worked, I take multiple roles at some point because of short staff or someone can't handle their work load.

For me, mars is the 6th house. Trine sun and square venus.

Also something I noticed with me and wondering about others- all of my managers have been capricorns with the exception of 2 aries. I always blame mars for this.

I don't see that pattern. I feel like I make my own fortune.. and if a situation like the one you described happened.. there would be no direct connection between one person's success and the others' misfortune.
I don't see the two things as related.

If one person underperforms they can be let go - for that reason.. This is their own problem and their own life experience.. and it's based on the fact that they were either unable or unwilling to fulfil the requirements/expectations of that position. I don't see this is as "misfortune", because it's a direct result of their own actions and choices.

I would see something like a natural disaster (e.g. a bush fire burning down someone's home).. as a misfortune - because that is something they would have no control over. Or alternatively, an illness or misadventure affecting the person in question.

The fact that a Cap Mars person might take their position is not "fortune" or "good luck" either. It's based on their own hard work.. and their ability to fulfil that position.

I don't believe the scenario you described happens frequently though. Different people have different sets of skills and interests and hence would be better at different jobs.
There are many jobs Capricorn Mars would not normally shine in. They do best in the corporate world, not so much in other areas.
Mine is conjunct Neptune so I'm very passionate about humanitarian issues, but this isn't something I've noticed with -pure- Capricorn Mars energy.

The main point of difference is that Capricorn Mars people (since this is an exalted placement) have a knack for choosing jobs that really suit them - jobs that they know they are able to perform 100%.
Other people might acquire positions that they are actually extremely unsuited to (and hence end up underperforming).

Uh... I have sun conjunct saturn in 10th and sun square pluto so Noooo! Things don't fall in my lap.

With that said, people recognize that I'm reliable and give me more responsibilities because others flake... Do I want to work? If I don't have to, I wouldn't. But that might be my aqua self speaking.

This is the best description for me. It's long but worth it http://sanjaperic.com/2012/12/13/mars-in-capricorn/

I have been thinking why cap mars is not as noticeable as scorp or aries. In fact I rarely notice that someone has a cap mars until after a long time when I see their consistent achievement. I think cap mars has contempt for things that come easily. I am not ambitious in the sense of trying to do things for my own professional gains. But I do things that are worth while. I don't like picking the easy way out as it is no fun. All the things I have today are the things I work hard for. And with Saturn on my MC, people don't give me an easy time at all. If I slack off, people jump on me right away. That or I punish myself.

Another reason why cap mars is exalted and gets along with scorp mars would be that Cap mars doesn't do a half ass job. It's the ultimate placement for "early birds catch the worms." Hence I would think a cap mars probably plan for responsibilities to fall in their hands.

Yeah, yeah, yea.
I mean no offense to anyone with this 'Exalted' position of Mars. Let's be realistic, exalted does not necessarily mean Better.
This should come as no surprise, considering this Mars functions best for example: within the structure of a corporate environment. The psychological profile of Corporation, is that of a Psychopath and a possibility of this Mars being their sociopathic corporate counterparts. Mars doesn't consider, Mars carries out orders, effective, efficient, and an Oh Otay Mars.
It needs to be said: Choose well, who's and what 'Vision' you give your incredible focus to. Or what you may consider as someone else's failure, just may be your own lack. As I believe you'll see the tough love and intention instilled herein.
