This is something I am also researching. I agree with TempuraNostril. It is not something readily identifiable, especially because most humans endure a form of PTSD, just on a different scale (a continuum of suffering). Also, each birth chart and subsequent progression is an instruction as to understand/ meet the challenges of one's persona *at that immediate moment*. So the event that sparked the trauma could be the chart's relationship to a particular period of time, and not the chart's relationship to the person born under it. I'm not sure that makes sense, hah!Certain questions must be asked then. Did the person develop the PTSD through being abused as a child? Did she develop it after she went to fight in a war? Did she develop it from a neurological disorder exacerbated by poor diet? Did the person sustain a life changing injury, like being burnt alive? Lose a loved one suddenly? This is why it is hard to locate & pinpoint a distinct pattern of symbols that would concretely express "PTSD," as we appreciate the term.
The way a pathology manifests *MIGHT* be indicated by a chart, then through planetary concentrations in certain houses, disruptive aspects, etc.
12th house experiences allegedly potentiate isolation, maybe sometimes through trauma (perhaps karmic), but also the inspire the resolute power to meet such a challenge. I have also found that stress disorders can be induced physiologically (asthma, for example, can cause emotional stress), so one must question whether the stress origin is within the physical or psychic body... Or both, most likely.
From my observations:
A weakened Venus, can lead to grief & depression & weight gain
Afflicted Mars can induce unstable anger toward self/ others
Neptune afflicted by certain poor or strong aspects with afflicted personal planets can lead toward self destructive chemical addictions. Ironically, a similar process can induce great art.
Mercury in affliction can make the person very, very nervous. No eye contact, always thinking, always paranoid. What will happen, what will happen? That sort of anxiety ridden behavior that makes one spin in circles.
(How do we calibrate the strength or weakness of the planets? The traditional exaltation and falls are good places to start, then the aspects to certain planets, the elemental relations are especially important.)
Moreso, these traumas could be continuations of intense past life events. The natal chart can just show us the doorway with which one has been called through, their dharma... It doesn't necessarily tell us all the baggage they brought!
I will let you know if I make any more progress on this. Thank you for bringing the topic up.
