Their motivations I guess could be many. Mostly , with men, we all know what the motivation probably is to lie about this.

Now for someone with a ton of introspective water placements, I cannot function what would have to be going on with someone mentally or inwardly for them to be that cold or heartless effortlessly towards others. I am sure many other factors in a persons life can point to this sort of development as well, but for the sake of it lets see if astro has any tips.

I will cast 1 vote to fixed energy in men. Fixed energy because according to me it has 2 extremes. The good side from what I've seen can be very fixed in their loving. The bad side can be fixed in getting what they want at all costs heartlessly. Even if it means completely ******* over the person to no end.

I could see some types of Cardinal energy propelling someone to say I love you because in the moment they thought they meant it. I've been on the receiving end of this from an Aries and a Cancer female. Under the right circumstances though, I could easily see a Libra making the same mistake under the right circumstances.

This isn't exactly a lie, but it is a careless and irresponsible way to deal with other people's emotions.

As for another reason to lie out right, I've seen plenty of people, men and women, say it because they wish it was true, they genuinely care about the other person and want that person to be loved.

Although you are brining up a "if it is felt in the moment" scenario I find that to be a prime example of the irresponsible behavior you are talking about. Choosing to be irresponsible about it is in fact what the lie consists of. Basic emotions are really not that complex. They are natural. They are either genuine or not.

And the people who lie about it generally have some other ulterior motives with it.
