Their changeable nature makes it hard for them to really stick around for good… My moms oldest friends is actually a virgo though (and she is aries), her gemini friend was always "around" but was not good at keeping contact… Besides that her Aqua friend was actually the most loyal (fixed sign again) I personally believe the fixed signs are the most "loyal" But the mutable signs also have a clear tendency to "stick around" people… my dad is a gemini and his best friend have been a leo for all his life almost… my own best friend is a scorpio with taurus moon and she is also extremely loyal to me (and I'm a virgo) Mutable and fixed signs seems to make great friends
I mentioned Taurus *waves hand* I'm a Gemini and I'd say I'm a pretty decent friend. If you haven't done anything to make me feel either uncomfortable multiple times or hurt me multiple times I'm there always. I have two people I've been friends with for 20 years now (both Scorpio rising lol). I have a lot of water and earth in my chart, I'd consider that staying power. I think the reason fixed and mutable signs make such great friends is because they balance each other out. Fixed signs teach the mutable signs a bit about stability and mutable signs teach the fixed ones how to let loose a little. I've always compared it to a ship. The fixed sign is the ship and anchor, strong and steady and unmovable and the mutable signs are the air and sails. IP: Logged |

I see the OP says "loyal and best" friends. I don't recall seeing that "best" there before (perhaps after reading it I just went to the title itself and forgot it), but it changes the nature of the question for me.I guess it depends on what you mean by loyalty. Some expect loyalty to be the same as butt kissing who will back you no matter how absurd you're being, tell you whatever you want to hear instead of what you need to hear, or stay your friend no matter how much you abuse them. Others expect it to be unethical in favor of the friend even if it means treating others wrong. Still others show loyalty by being there and keeping secrets but at the same time giving honest advice (rather than what the friend wants to hear) and even smacking you upside the head when you need it (and we all need it occasionally). The idea of what constitutes loyalty varies from individual to individual (and sign to sign). That and other reasons (including astrological) are going to be what determines which sign is likely to make the best friend. As for me I can't pick a sign even in my own life for that. IP: Logged |

I dont think scorpios are loyal friends at all... I think people who are loyal tend to be:
Virgo risers which means 11th cusp in cancer. Libra in combo with Cancer placements, and Cap placements in combo with Aquarius placements. ADD:
*Perhaps having your 11th house ruler in a fixed sign is a good indicator. Actually I would say this is a very important indicator; 11th house ruler either in a fixed sign or in cap or cancer. IP: Logged |

Taurus, Scorpio, Capricorn,. In my experience they always stick around and won't bail out if you're in trouble.IP: Logged |

Love the analogy! I'm an Aquarius and I seriously love all the mutables. I have Virgo rising and mutables on all my angles. So that could contribute to the mutable people love. Also, they're the only people that can put up with how fixed I am. I get fixated on things and I need someone that will bring in fresh air, show me a new perspective or even change themselves to accommodate me. IP: Logged |

Someone said Gemini? LMAO that's hilarious. Aries are also very calm and boring, but chill people who just like to sit around and do nothing too!IP: Logged |

Honestly, I think mutable should be friends with mutable. Fixed and cardinal seem to be better in the long run. I find mutable to "drop in and drop out."
Saturn is on my desc now so I have little patience for people who don't mean to stick around IP: Logged |

I'm mutable/Gem and I'm a drop in drop out type. But I will hang around for years so long as there aren't too many demands. I hate feeling like I'm tied to anything. My bestest friend is an Aries-Gemini. We haven't seen each other face-to-face since 1996, but we're up to date on each other's life. To me this is a great/loyal friend. IP: Logged |

Agree, I'm also mutable sun/moon and I drop in and out of peoples lives, but I do have some friends that I see regularly. And I think I see these few people regularly because we somehow give each other a lot of accept and relax a lot with each other - no demands. One of them is a capricorn with fixed venus, the other is scorpio with fixed taurus moons. These people are VERY loyal, in the way that they always stick by my side no matter what. Being a BEST friend is more than this though, it also takes the gut to really help you and guide you even though the right answer is not the most popular one or the easiest thing to do… luckily I have such great friends IP: Logged |
