Topic: Quincunx Attraction

Is it only me, does anyone else always attract the sun signs quincunx from their Sun? The signs after and before your opposite? I hate to go so general as Sun Signs but I think this aspect is under-noted. I'm an Aquarius and always of intrigue to Cancer and Virgo. I don't believe the classic Sun Trines have much effect (same element) I never run into or have long relationships with other air signs Gemini and Libra. I have always had Cancer and Virgo friends, and it always feels karmic. My Taurus hubby says his favorite sign is Sagittarius.

Well i think they are legitimate. Sometimes there is just something in the "air" that cannot be explained away. Is the fact that Capricorns solar "exaltation" in Mars,the reason why Sun-ruled Leo is so impressed with them? Is Virgo's dignity in Mercury the reason why Uranus ruled Aquarius smiles at them so often? And what is it about emotional Cancer that enjoys exaltation in Jupiter that fascinates the philosophical Sag so much? But I also think that as people get older,they tend to want more "ease" in relating to their partner. Is it possible that couples who started off bland or as friends(trines/conjunctions) start to enjoy their relationship in the later years? Perhaps couples who started with great excitement and/or sexual attraction need to learn to make peace with each other-as time continues and things settle.Or let each other go? As for me,I prefer sun-sun trines and sextiles to romantic relationships.It just "feels" right after a while.Can't explain it really. Aries and Leo energize me. Aquarius and Libra complement me. Libra especially gets romantic very quickly maybe due to the Venus-Jupiter respective ruler-ship? I can't say I've learned from my experiences with Cancer and Taurus that despite the intense attraction,the in-conjunct relationship gets really CHALLENGING really FAST. I want complete freedom to be myself(Sun) And trying to sensor myself to "keep it together" for the partnership- becomes less pressing in importance. Taurus(though also Venus ruled)can find me foolish,embarrassing, playful and too candid The emotional turbulence of Cancer brings me anxiety  As parents and teachers- these signs are fine. Yepppp!!!! Me allll the way. But the signs before and after also mesh with other parts of my chart, so I've never been able to exclusively say it's because we're Quincunx. My best friend is a Scorpio ASC Sun Merc and Venus, with Moon in Capricorn - so by sign those quincunx my Aries placements and her Capricorn to my Gemini stuff.
Also carried on a long distance friendship with a Sagittarius Sun Capricorn Moon, Merc and Mars in Scorpio. The Sag is quincunx to my Moon in Taurus, Capricorn to my Gemini and Scorpio to my Aries. IP: Logged |

Thanks for the response! It's nice to know I wasn't imagining this for years, because textbook astrology fails to really mention this aspect.
Aries23: I do agree that it can be very challenging after awhile. Even as friends, my Cancer friends can be draining of my energy. I think it is that challenge that is what makes the quincunx magnetizing and so appealing, because it's exciting... at first! IP: Logged |

Hanna: Very interesting! Maybe it does have to do with the rest of our chart as well. Although I really can't explain why I attract Cancers, since I have only Pluto in Scorpio. Anyone experience their Moon quincunx someone else's Moon? My husband and I have that (Sag and Taurus.) Wondering if that has a similar attracting affect.

I LOVE Leos.. my sun in Pisces 9h.
But I also have asc in Leo, Mars in Sag and Venus in Aries...Libras are kinda "meh" for me, too indecisive.. I have that enough for 2 or more.. but Leos...oh my IP: Logged |

Taurus-Libra
Gemini-Capricorn
Cancer-Sagittarius
Leo-Pisces
Virgo-Aquarius

In romantic relationships people most often choose someone opposite or square their Sun.
The inconjunct in a way can also be an opposition or conjunction - by antiscion.
Antiscia are often overlooked.
There are of course Taurus and Pisces Suns I know and like.
But I really like Virgo Suns and generally people with Virgo placements. It probably has to do with the fact that my chart is Virgo/6th house heavy.
But my Ascendant is Aries 17 deg and its ruler Mars is Virgo 13 deg. So basically they are conjunct by antiscion.
I won't say that Virgo Suns make me feel energized the same way as Aries Suns conjunct my Ascendant do, but it's nonetheless profound. IP: Logged |
