What is your moon sign and how do you handle your feelings? Just trying to get a better grasp on the different signs' emotional side.

aries moon.

I often let my feelings flow. If I think that it has the potential to be destructive I'll hold it in and sort it out in my head. In some certain cases where it's better to "keep it together", I'll try to control my feelings.

I'm glad an Aries moon was the first to answer this=) I was most interested in Aries moon, because that's my daughter's moon sign.

So do you feel that you sort of avoid your feelings, or do you deal with them directly, just within yourself? In the context of a relationship how do you handle your feelings?

I'm a sagittarius moon and I feel that I'm very avoidant of my feelings. I was talking to someone about this the other day. My way of handling my feelings is very indirect sometimes, but my impression was that an Aries moon would want to sort of "conquer" their feelings and deal with them in a direct way.

I don’t avoid my feelings. I feel that by avoiding them I’ll just create more troubles.

In interpersonal relationships I often want to share my feelings with the other people. It’s easier than handling them all by myself. I feel that they have the "right" to know how I feel about them, about the relationship/friendship... Sometimes I do need time to sort my feelings out before sharing though.

Thing is I have a lot of moon squares. Sometimes I'm not aware that I need to share. Sometimes I see that others already have a lot on their plate so I don't want to bother them.

Virgo moon in 11th, I ignore them telling myself emotions are a dumb thing, try and think logically about them, then secretly cry when no ones around. I've got Saturn in 4th also.

Thanks for the reply! I have my moon in the sixth, and I can relate to that.

Taurus Moon 10H

It all depends on what I'm feeling. And then who I'm around. I have a tendency to hide my emotions from other people unless it's something overwhelmingly heart breaking and then just the simple question of "Are you okay?" can cause me to cry. I do it for a couple reasons. Partially because I feel like everyone already has so much to deal with and don't want to burden them with my issues. And the other part is that I feel like most people don't actually care. They just want inside info that will possibly make them feel better about their own life or situation. But my reaction to sorrow and anger are the same. I just don't speak unless I'm directly spoken to. Which isn't normal for me at all

I have a capricorn moon. If something happens that absolutely devastates me, I react by burying myself in my work. I can accomplish quite a bit when I'm feeling angry or sad.

I don't deal with my feelings until I go home.

Pisces Moon- the good: soft, sympathetic, hopeful, dreamy. The bad: too soft to being mushy, too sympathetic and at risk of being a sucker, too hopeful when there's no hope, too dreamy that there's danger of wanting to stay in lala land and not coming back to reality.

I'm very emotionally open and honest. If I'm not, my face will betray me since it's very expressive without me doing anything. I don't cause drama, but I do actually LOVE drama. I think drama is funny and I do very well in emotionally chaotic situations. When it's stable... ach...I get bored zzzzZzzzZzz

Cappy Moon here as well, 9th house. I relate to this. Whenever I feel overwhelmed by my feelings, I work or just put my all into some activity that requires a lot energy/effort when I was unemployed. Even cleaning the house (Ever seen that scene in the Simpson's where Marge gets ****** and starts cleaning the whole house?).

If someone starts up a lot of emotional drama around me, I tend not to engage it, even if I'm sympathetic, because that's just not me. I try not to make a big deal of my feelings in front of others.

Sagittarius moon. My feelings are not handled at all. They are out there for everyone. If I am angry, sad, mad, frustrated, etc., then everyone around me certainly knows about it!

Gemini Moon in the 5th house, here.

My feelings are very apt to fluctuation and usually fade into the background quickly as I find my attention latching onto something else. When I talk about my feelings, I don't feel them (at all) and when I feel my feelings it lasts for a very short amount of time as I begin to feel uncomfortable with my own tears. For example, I can begin to cry deeply about something... 5 minutes later I am laughing at cat videos and texting people about random things that happened throughout my day, as though I wasn't weeping just 5 minutes ago. There is a total lack of cohesion and a complete disconnect from one state of emotions to the next. I express my feelings best through writing. I can be sometimes dramatic with my feelings and I feel wounded, even offended, when I sense that my feelings aren't being thoroughly acknowledged.

I handle difficult situations with a surprising, even stinging, coldness. I do not mourn over people I've lost. In fact, I move on like they never existed, no matter how dear to me they were. This usually happens when I feel that whatever falling out that had happened between me and someone else is their fault. I internalize the situation rationally and come to the conclusion that there is no need for grief and tears. So I don't feel bad or cry. Some people might view this as ruthless or heartless, I see it as living smart and saving time.

So that's me... Hope it offers you some of the insight you seek.

I'm similar...very candid about most things because I assume people will be able to interpret my expressions anyway...no point in lying.

But I wouldn't call myself emotionally honest. About certain things, I feel like people won't understand where I'm coming from, and I don't want to stress myself out explaining something when I anticipate clashing with them, so I just keep it to myself.

edit~

There's a lot to say and I don't like focusing on one aspect more than the others...but just one thing, I feel like my having an 8H Pisces moon, with all its sensitivity, is a double-edged sword: it has limited my ability to achieve things, because I can get so emotionally overwhelmed just by being around people and absorbing vibes. School was hard that way; working in a typical work environment was crushing.

On the other hand, I've always derived self-esteem from knowing that I am a caring, generous person....and you don't feel lonely when you can so easily "fade into" other people and sense your commonality with them.

Thank you for the answers everyone!

This answer sounds very similar to my Sagittarius moon. Maybe because they are opposites. I just need to "bounce back" really fast. I can't tell you how many times I've made jokes with tears still on my face cause I'm just ready to not be sad anymore. When I'm crying after a little bit I'm just like "this isn't me," and I need to move on from that feeling.

I do this as well, but more as a way to supress/ignore feelings than actually getting over them quickly. I have Gemini ASC so I don't like to appear broody or even like being broody or emotional. Leo Mercury (Chart ruler) is also opposed Moon, a big part of it. Where is your Mercury and what's your ASC?

Gemini moon in the 1st. Literally everything PisceanDream has said is me. When it comes to the dramatics, I'm normally only dramatic if I feel slighted (like she stated) or disrespected.

What house does your Moon fall in? When I'm crying or upset, it is often quite raw. I do laugh sometimes but I feel it through then suddenly I find myself somewhere else emotionally. It's more of a sudden disconnect than a conscious attempt at cheering myself up. I always admired that about Sags. Their energy is just so positive.

Sag Moon in 3rd house trine Mars(7th) & Mercury(9th&12th), Conj Uranus(5th), Quintile Venus(1st&8th).

I express my feelings without reservation.

I don't care what ever the reaction lol... I don't give a tiny rat a@!#!@ss

I'm so aloof and free that people just don't get me.

I just do and laterrrrrr come back and see the reaction. I'm like 2 step ahead of what I'm doing if that makes sense.

I'm glad my description resonated with you! Yupp, that's when I get dramatic. Otherwise, I'm very emotionally cool and even-tempered. But easily irritated as well...

Figured this would be a more popular thread, honestly. I'll chime in for one that hasn't been mentioned yet. I think all aspects to the MOON count, including house placement and rulership, but we'll just go basic here.

Libra MOON, 8H.

We can rationalize just about anything, which will lead us to playing devil's advocate by reflex. We have a built-in "pause" button for our feelings, so we can stop a moment to ponder what we're feeling, why we're feeling it, the consequences for them, and the best way to handle them in present company. First and foremost, Libra MOON doesn't want to ruffle any feathers, so if making a scene will have consequences, then we do a bang-up job of making sure that one is not made. Libra MOON natives are excellent poker faces.

We can also relate to just about anybody, due to that irritating knee-jerk habit of seeing the other side of the coin. Other people's feelings can take precedence over our own. This kind of prioritizing can give others the illusion that a Libra MOON native is cool and detached, when in reality we're just taking the other person into consideration first. I've been called "Spock-like", when I am highly emotional under the surface.

I think Libra MOON natives have an inherent vision of beauty to subscribe to, as well - an ideal. "Ugly" feelings are despised, especially when the native has them, and will do everything in our power to ignore and/or bury them. We'd much rather take the "high road", even if it goes against our gut. We'd much rather be notable for our fairness and relate-ability than blind, emotional passion.

Libra MOON likes graceful solutions. And has a keen understanding of other people's emotional state. Reading other people comes naturally.

When personally upset or overwhelmed, that pause button comes in handy, and we can usually funnel that energy into something productive and worthwhile.

When push comes to outright shove, Libra MOON natives will break into tears, and hate that it came to that - much more than whatever it was that pushed us into that situation to begin with. We're not confrontational, so will typically retreat in the face of a fight. A failure to avoid conflict, or an inability to uphold the poker face is the ultimate bane of the Libra MOON native.

We don't hold grudges, forgiveness comes easily, and tend to operate on the principle "benefit of the doubt". We aren't as detached as Aqua MOON natives - who try to make everything exposed and worldly - we want to make everything personal. We feel just as quickly as Gem MOON natives, but will hold onto and try to make something of them. Of the airy MOON signs, Libra takes the most "care" of feelings - both our own and of others.

Give me a heart to heart talk,a hug and individual attention-now and then. And you will go a long way to totally obliterating the infamous mood swings of a Cancer Moon.

I'll hate everyone and be all crabby to all people. But you You will have my heart.

That's a huge contrast. Moon seems like it's would provide a quick and changeable states but Rx Pisces Merc can digest all of it really well. I can see why you said writing works best for you.

So, two people I know are practically married, but not married, just friends. Because one of them is asexual (can you guess which?). One has a Pisces Sun and Libra Moon. The other has a Cancer Sun and Gemini Moon.

They were trying to decide what to have for dinner.

Libra Moon says, "we have chicken or fish. Which do want?"

Gemini Moon says, "I don't care, whatever you want."

Libra Moon says, "No, you must prefer something. I'll make whichever you prefer."

Gemini Moon says, "I really don't care. Either one is fine. Pick which you want."

This does not compute with Libra Moon. Libra Moon thinks Gemini is just not saying what she wants, that Gemini must have a preference and he must be accommodating. Apparently this went on for 15 minutes before Gemini Moon finally suggested they go get a hamburger and avoid the decision entirely.
