As some of you know, I'm still learning stuff. I started getting into Astrology mostly to understand myself and I'm sort of done looking at my own chart! I'm moved on to transits, synastries and avoiding composites. :-o Now I'm trying to understand progressions and solar arcs. I've read about solar arcs. I have to be honest, I don't get them. Can anyone explain them in simple terms? Is it possible? For practice, I'd like to try to rectify my mom's chart. I know that rectifying is speculative. (and she knows, she's had it rectified a few times with varying results). So I'd just like to try it as an exercise in (hopefully) understanding solar arcs relating to past events that I know the dates of. Any help? ETA: Ok... I think I'm even jumping ahead of myself... How are solar arcs related to the rectifying the ASC if it's the sun that is moving? Maybe we should stick to what are solar arcs...... Ugh. I'm confusing myself again!

Please don't tell me there is no easy way to learn this!? Of course, having tried to learn it, I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case! IP: Logged |

Solar arcs are a day for a year. For example to see when you will meet the love of your life you take the SUN and VENUS and look at how far apart they are. For example: My Sun is at 8 Cancer My Venus is at 14 Gemini 30-14 = 16 then i take 16+8= age 25 And yes I did meet the love of my life at age 25 and it was exact to the second the day we met. So you take the distance between the planets (using one degree for a year) and that is the age the event occurs. IP: Logged |

Ah. Yes. I remember reading this once. I did it with sun Venus and it is at the age I met my husband. Then there was another thing like Venus to moon (or whatever, I don't remember) and it gave me another option for meeting another love. Any more ideas insights are welcome. And does anyone know how does it relate to the finding the ASC?

According to that I've got 22 years until I meet my "love" and I just gotta say that would be crap. And I've already been in love, and had a fairly long term relationship. Besides someone very psychic told me I would meet someone right at 28-30....IP: Logged |

But also that makes it sound like solar arc is the same as progressions? That's confusing...IP: Logged |

Sometimes when I read about solar arcs they talk about or list them under "secondary progressions". And yes. It is very confusing which is why I'm asking if some of our more knowledgeable folks can help understanding this. IP: Logged |

Ok... More help needed!!! Having gone back to the marriage example. I have a friend who's birth date is not known. He was born between "breakfast and lunch". Because his V and sun are too close and his moon too far for a realistic wedding date, I just as an experiment, I used an asc degree that would put his progressed sun on his asc on the date he married. Interestingly, the put his Saturn on exactly on his asc on the day his son was born..... Could I be getting close to something?! Sadly I don't know too many exact dates in his life. My mother's, that I mentioned I wanted to work with above is too difficult as she has no idea what time of day she was born. I do have more dates to work with though. IP: Logged |
