A Minor Triangle is an aspect configuration that involves at least 3 objects. Two are in a TRINE, and the third is just between them, in a SEXTILE to them both. You can recognize them easily in your natal chart because they look like, well, a small triangle. No great mystery there. Unlike a Grand Trine, which confers inborn talents to an individual so easily that they take it for granted and sometimes even waste it, a Minor Triangle is a lot more practical and "workable". You know there are things to be learned and lessons to go through to fully harness the power of it, but you don't mind learning them and the journey is easy to stick to. What is yours, and how do you see it/them coming out in your life? I have a Minor Triangle with 5 luminaries in mine, Moon and Uranus on one side trine Mercury and Venus on the other, and all of them sextle Jupiter in the middle. I feel that this configuration made me a quick learner and gave me an ease with studying, I never struggled with lessons on anything in my life. (except for driving classes. I failed my theory test TWICE before I finally passed with 100% the third time. I couldn't figure out how to work the clutch correctly even about three weeks into the practical lessons. dark times.) I thought a luminary = sun and moon. End of list. Really, you took your driver's test with a manual transmission? Why complicate things? Ohhh...I see...Mercury-Jupiter-Uranus likes big challenges?? I sorta have a minor triangle... 6 Sag Venus 5 Aqua Mercury 7 Aries BML If I work it right, I can be charming. *IF* IP: Logged |

Hah, you are totally right. I've been using it to reference all the celestial bodies for years. You really never stop making mistakes, no matter your age. I guess my confusion is that only the Sun really gives out light and all the other bodies only reflect it, so they're all luminaries in their own neighbourhoods of the Solar System. It made sense to me. Thanks for setting me straight. quote: Really, you took your driver's test with a manual transmission? Why complicate things? That's a proper minor triangle, 2° orb in a 3 planet configuration is still very strong. I think this would make you a very seductive communicator. And someone who can understand, and communicate, the inexplicable and obsessive in love very well. Any Mercury-focused Minor Triangle is a communicator's configuration to me.They only did manual in my school. Everyone I know drives manual. They all say you can't learn to drive on automatic, what's the point. I sort of get it but uuugh. The amount of times I accidentally shut down the car right at the intersection... I'm sweating just thinking about it. IP: Logged |

Mine are as follow:Mars-Venus-Moon Mars-Mercury-Moon Mars-Mercury-Jupiter Mars-Venus-Jupiter I'll think through how they are working in my life and add later. I can say now that they are connecting my 2nd (Venus and Mercury), 11th (Moon and Jupiter) and 10th (Mars) houses. My income is increasing based on my career which i have in an organisation through social contacts, i also do voluntary work there and basically most of my friends are from there. That is how the houses are working here. Actually, when i think so, these are quite lucky placements for me.
Oh, and that organisation is also based on our values and principles, so the 2nd house Venus fits in very well, as it is also 2nd house ruler.

A luminary is by definition an object bright enough to cast a shadow. On Earth, that would be the SUN (of course) and the MOON. On MARS, the MOON would no longer be a luminary. What you're referring to I've always heard called a talent triangle. A trine connecting to its midpoint, bring out the full potential of said trine. Yay! Aspect patterns My planetary Minor Triangle is made of Moon in Leo 7th (7th ruler) trine Neptune/POF/NN in Sag 11th (2nd ruler, Taurus IC) pointing to Mercury in Libra (conj Pluto) 8th (Mercury rules 5th and 8th) What talent does this suggest to you?
