I don't know about moon and/or mommy issues....

But Saturn in the handle of my bucket and it's in the 7th. So partnerships either romantic or business are very important to me. I function better when I'm in a relationship and as much as I've always wanted to start my own business, I feel completely paralyzed by it and really really want to find a partner to start a company with me.

Ideally, I'd LOVE to meet a husband/life partner who has a business and I could help him with that.

Having said all that, my guess would be that his emotional state, his emotions are most important to him. He probably filters everything through his emotions and not his logic. What house it is in? That could be a big focus of his life, where his balance needs to be.

I think it radiates from there, rather than being the chart's focus. Does it make aspects to all the planets?

What do you mean, that it radiates from there, LeeLoo?

I think I might have been wrong about his chart type, because all other 9 planets are very close together, like a bundle (they are within a square aspect so <100 deg) that would make him a FAN chart, not a bucket, which is more loose from what I understand.

Hmm, you are right, it's a fan. I also have a fan when I though it was a bucket. My planets are all within 90 degrees with Saturn across the way in opposition.

Mine go from H11 to H2, then Saturn sits alone in the 7th on the DSC with two oppositions to Venus conj Asc H12 and Jupiter conj ASC H1. Saturn it the 'handle' of the fan. Which is actually more accurate when I speak of the focus being Saturn were as a bucket would as LL said be more radiant over the bowl of planets.

I do not have a time of birth yet, so I don't know in which house it falls. I think he is indeed a man of deep emotions, but he keeps them pretty hidden. I can't say that I have seen him "emotional", not even once. It is true that he and I aren't very close yet, but still. His Moon makes an opposition to Sun if he's born early, or to Mercury if late. Both would make sense; if late, Moon will be conjuunct Chiron and that would make a TON of sense.
I can't figure out this handle thing, it seems like it's your life focus, right? He has a Taurus Moon and he's a commitment phobe, for one thing. I don't get it.

Moon and Sun oppositions are difficult because his heart wants some thing different from his head. And if he's moon is the handle of the bucket it can be quite concentrated. It probably doesn't help his commitment phobia as he probably really really doesn't want to make a mistake.

It certain is a big focus in my life. I feel I NEED a partner, but as I said not just love, but for work, a "partner in crime" to do things with, etc. Though that doesnt' mean I don't do things alone! I'd just rather have one or two important people in my life rather than a whole bunch of friends. I'm happy with that. I don't need 1000 other people around. Having said that I don't let people in easily. They have to be right people, not just anyway. I keep most people at arms length even my family.

Saturn is a big heavy stable planet though. I think it might be easier to have that as a counter weight than the moon. But I only have my experience. So I can't really compare.

http://www.astrotheme.com/files/planetary-patterns.php

THE FAN

This pattern is actually a bucket with the difference that the cluster of planets has a higher concentration (narrower geographical distribution). In the bucket pattern, the width of the cluster can be up to 190 or 200 degrees, whereas the fan allows a width of 120 to 140 degrees only. Actually, the fan is a bundle pattern with an isolated planet, or a conjunction of planets, clearly separated from the cluster.

The duality between the isolated element and the cluster is so strong that it is very understandable that the isolated element takes an importance that is even stronger than in the bucket pattern. The APEX (the name of the isolated planet or conjunction) becomes not only the point through which the native can channel the energy provided by the cluster, but it is also a tool. It seems that, as the apex becomes the dominant of the cluster, it also becomes an integral part of it.

This sort of pattern is strongly characterized. It is relatively rare and usually translates into outstanding personalities or destinies, if the Southern hemisphere is very highlighted.

Wow, Lucie, thank you! I think not all astro sites make the distinction between a fan and a bucket, so no wonder we were mistaking them for buckets. I myself have a see-saw, which is a different type of concentrated energy, but more equally polarized (I have 4 planets on one side and 6 on the other), so it is hard for me to grasp this sort of unbalance - when I'm all about the balance. But at least I get the opposition thing, LOL. It does seem like Saturn would bring more stability. Can I ask you something - is your relationship with your father especially significant, I mean more than an usual father-daughter relationship. I know some astrologers view Sun as the father, for me is Saturn (Moon's counterpart, I prefer them in pairs lol - my chart has a pair pattern, my planets sort of "couple up" two by two lol, at least some haha).

Ha. Yes. That's like mine. With Saturn in place of moon in 7th and two wide oppositions to Venus in 12 and Jupiter in 1st and close opp to Asc.

My father died when I was a child. Of course, I loved him very much. I was daddy's little girl like a lot of father daughter relationships. It was extraordinary difficult at the time, as I'm sure it would be for anyone. But of course this shaped my whole life moving forward. I had to deal with it at a young age.

He's a Scorpio sun! Of course he wants a tight grip on those emotions which are surely intense and bubbling below the surface.

Ugh! Go find out what time he was born!! :P

I am sorry about your father, Lucie. That must have been very hard on you. Do you feel you overcompensated for his loss in some way? Did you have another parental figure or do you tend to look at partners as potential paternal figures? I know since Saturn is in your 7th, it makes it an influence in itself, but because of the handle, it feels like Saturn needs to balance the cluster on the opposite side.. this is why I imagine the handle being very important, definitory to the person.

It's a Fan, just like I have in my own chart. It's built around a Yod, just like my chart He's a Yod person. The sextile is Mars/Juno, the apex - trigger - the Moon and the release seems to be on Sun/Mercury mdp. It's really a shame we don't know his TOB. You need to identify what else is on the release and the mdps there. Also, if he has a cluster of mdps on his Moon. Well, in fact you don't know if this config exist, because you don't know the exact position of the Moon. What is the orb range of the Moon for the day he was born? Is it cross-sign? One sign only? Orb range?

I said it radiates because in a config like this, the focal planet activates and permeates the whole chart, it's like a source.

hm...the synastry makes a lot of sense and with the eclipse...I expected him to have something in the 8th...but I think Chiron on MC is a powerful counter-part for that The opp you have with his Sun/Moon makes a lot of sense. Venus on MC - could play out as a desire to submit to someone (from your side).
I like Merc/Uranus on IC opp your Venus, (his DSC and 2nd ruler) but he may be rather unstable with that and Mars in the 4th could make him a little...domineering lol All right, no more Yod, but in this configuration, Moon rules his 12th - a 12th house matter dominates his chart; either an unexpected event, turn of events, a retreat, a double life, a hidden side, mysticism etc you know it! Plus NN in 12th

EDIT: all right, Moon rules his 12th and there's the 8th house connection with Pisces. Everything else I said remains valid. The Sun is still important as the ruler of that NN in 12th, it tells you what that NN is about. Draco could be interesting. I'm also tempted to pay an extra attention to his Neptune aspects. Does he have any asteroids in the 12th?

How does his Moon Persona look like? That's something interesting to check and compare it to your natal.

Then this explains it and you probably got the ASC right. I'll look at your synastry and comp in IA, for more clues

Yeah, I can't wait to get his tob.. but you know Scorps, gotta approach them with caution. They get easily suspicious.

It was a long time ago and to be honest, I'm not very connected to him any longer. I know people who always long for their lost parent. But I don't really.

I'm sure I over compensated when I was young, looking for male attention. But that's also part of my Venus/Asc in Scorpio. I was amused by messing with boys. LOL. I got over that and I'm generally a very committed person. So that was only between BFs.

My mom and I have a very tough relationship, mostly because she wants to be very "motherly" and I don't really feel I need a mother. Apparently even when I was a baby that was true so she always felt I rejected her. But we get along better now that I live an ocean away and I call her by her first name.

Anywhoo.... I could talk about me forever! But I won't. :P

Yeah... I also had to guess within 3 rising signs for my guy and it does me no good. I'm convinced it's Taurus because of where his planets sit doing that. But purely ASC wise he could very well be a Pisces. Def not an Aires rising!

So... We'll just have to live with the uncertainty. Though his mom is coming next week.... I'm going to try to see if I can't get her to talk about the day he was born and see if we can't narrow it down more.

In the mean time, do check out the other aspects and see they feel to you. Keep us posted!

Oohhh. He has Venus Sq Nept. We were just talking about that somewhere. I'll have a look later or tomorrow. Soooo much to do tonight.

Later.

Going back to learning? Good luck at your exam!

I'm waiting for the TOB. I just wanted to say someone with ASC/DSC in Leo/Aqua or viceversa is a big deal for you, in general - even better then having planets there because they embody your interception, what you want to bring to light in yourself for yourself, in a way, what you want to become - related to that part of yourself you haven't shown yet, of course.
I've already experienced this (a Leo/Aqua ASC) and I can attest to that.
