Does anyone else feel that houses should be determined by sign? For example, If you are a Leo rising, but you notice that Virgo is also considered to be in your 1st house, would it be more accurate to see it as the second house instead? I have noticed several times that although certain houses extend further into other signs, it is still more accurate when the sign is seen as the counted number away from the rising. For example, my moon is said to be in my 8th house, but it is in fact the 9th sign away from my rising which means it should be considered the 9th house. I myself display more 9th house moon qualities than 8th. And my mother displays those same qualities towards me. And in synastry those same 9th house energies are displayed with my relationship with others. My Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are all in Capricorn. The 12th sign from my rising in Aquarius, and all of these planets have had a great impact on my 12th house nature as well. What do you guys think? IP: Logged |

I cannot say I over all agree with it for my chart. The planets in house placements definitely do not match that way for me.Maybe you are experiencing some transits or progressions which are activating those house energies more. I believe for some people when you switch over to whole signs this happens too, what you are saying. And some people do claim to say that makes more sense for them. IP: Logged |

Doesn't work that way for me.. you know, I switched to an entire different house system (koch) for a while, because I was so sure that my third house was in pisces, and not aries (im a cap asc). I switched back to placidus cause it wasnt working out so accurately for people i'd read, but then guess what? Turns out my birth time was off by 20 minutes and now my third house is in pisces! Switch to the system which fits you. Astrology is supposed to help you, if you can’t even relate, it certainly won’t help you. In my own case, I can’t relate at all to a 4th house stellium(in Placidus). I’ve never been attached to family, land etcetera etcetera, neither can I relate much to Sun, Mercury and Saturn in 4th. If I use whole sign which places my stellium in 5th, things start making sense.IP: Logged |

I've noticed equal house system works quite well. For example my ASC is 12 Libra, but when saturn entered Libra 0 I still felt as if it was on my ASC. However when Saturn was exactly on my ASC things began to unfold. IP: Logged |

I use vedic which is equal house. To see the chart you choose hindu/lahiriI was always labeled a aqua sun, and while i do feel my aqua venus, I never really feel the sun. Vedic changed my sun to Capricorn and I FINALLY identified with my sun. IP: Logged |

yes transits are the main reason for my question. When a certain planet goes through a certain sign, I feel the house that is away from my rising sign more than what my natal chart says. This has been going on for a while and i have been paying close attention to it.. IP: Logged |
