I feel a burden for those with 12th house planets. As I do more charts, the angst associated with 12th house planets is palpable, to me. I think that there is one way to deal with the burden of 12th house planets. There is one way to transmute that burden from dross to gold. It is through service. The 12th house is the door to the next dimension. The next dimension does not have the values of this one. On this earth, money, beauty and prestige trump. In the next dimension, it is the quality of your heart. This will resonate with 12th house people, I suspect. I think they already know it. It is written deep inside them. These knowings are part of what makes them both different and special. If you have 12th house planets, consider the form of service with fits with you. Start to put it in to practice,slowly. When you feel depression, as most 12th house planets have, give to someone else. The depression will transmute and something of beauty will be in it’s place.

Some respected Astrologers shirk when they see planets in the 12th house. They shirk with empathy for the person who must deal with planets placed here. The astrological chart is the wheel of life. It goes from birth to death. The 12th house represents death. As such, the person is not your typical earth bound person occupied with earth bound pursuits. Some part of that person lives in the next dimension. As you can imagine, it makes the sphere of life represented by the 12th house planet harder.

For example, if Venus, the planet of love, is in the 12th house, love comes harder for this person. If one has Mercury in the 12th house, one may be afraid to share one’s thoughts for fear of looking silly or having one’s ideas taken lightly or rejected.

If one has Mars in the 12th house, one’s anger and drive may turn inward to such a degree that the person may boil with anger, but be afraid to express it. This would be a classic aspect for passive-aggression.

The Sun in the 12th may make one insecure about shining one’s light, standing out and standing up for one’s unique identity

Saturn in the 12th may want to join in a group, but will wait on the sidelines, for fear of rejection.

Pluto in the 12th may push his primal emotions in to the realm of fantasy and be driven by sexual fantasies that seem to propel him to places he does not wish to go.

Uranus in the 12th house may, similarly, have fetishes and unusual ways that may cause him to feel he is different in a way that may feel hopeless.

Jupiter in the 12th house may make the person feel as if luck is elusive. Other people seem to get all the breaks while he watches from the sidelines. Jupiter in the 12th may protect the person from near miss accidents . It is called the Guardian Angel placement.

Neptune is the easiest planet to have in the 12th house, but it is not easy. No 12th house placement is. This person may be psychic. In particular, this native seems to dream true.

12th House planets may be a gift or a curse. They ARE a force with which to reckon. No one will argue, on that score.

I have been afraid of them. They seem like a behemoth. They seem like huge mountains, off in the distance, too high, too steep. One wants to give up, just in the looking. However, with all things, one can have a shift in perspective and the monster who looked as if it would eat you can seem to dissipate into smoke.

No, it is not this easy. However, I am changing my viewpoint on 12th House planets, a bit. The native with 12th House planets will be forced to forge a spiritual path, as shopping for shoes at Bloomingdales will not do it for her/him. He, simply, will not be able to navigate life without God.

The 12th House is the House of addictions and hidden passions. We, all, know how hidden passions, left untended in a dark closet will multiply as something untoward.

There is a law in Energetic Healing that one cannot leave energy in a hole in the ground, proverbially speaking, and expect it to stay there. No, it will reproduce, silently, and come up and bite you, as it’s reckoning for your silliness in thinking you could push it in to hiding.

Truth be told, we can’t hide anything. Certainly not, deep passion. So, what is the solution for this? A 12th House Person must have stop gap measures. He is a volcano, by the nature of 12th House planets. He may blow, at any time. He may implode, at any time. He must take this seriously and set up measures,such that he cam allow steam to release in small increments.

The most important measure is a trusted friend to whom one can unburden everything. One can find one,if one looks and prays. Such a person is a gift from God, rare but not impossible. Then,one must cry as if one’s heart is breaking because if you have 12th House planets, your heart did.

My mars is conjunct asc from 12.
What are your thoughts on this?
One says it's pretty much like a 1st house mars.

I also have mercury and Venus which means that my 1st, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 12th rulers are in 12th.

Wish I could tell you with confidence but the only 12th house Mars I'm familiar with is my own and it's at the very beginning.

I would guess the 12th house is having more of an effect on your Mars since that is where it is rooted but the conjunction can't be ignored. Since the ASC is how you appear to people perhaps people view you as assertive, but maybe with the Mars on the 12th side you don't feel as confident or you hold back your assertion despite coming off as assertive? This is my guess until I meet more people with this make up.

I think the best person to ask is you. Which description do you identify with more? The 12th house Mars that can lack energy, contains itself, feel thwarted, or the 1st house Mars that appears confident and assertive and tackles the world?
