I always think everyone is out to get me... Ulterior motives... A secret to hide. If my guy doesn't respond to my text message right away, I start creating stories in my mind of what he's doing, et cetera--these narratives in my mind are just horrible that string me along until I feel the most intense emotions. I hate it. I obsess mentally and just can't shut it off.

I'm skeptical, paranoid even. I always fathom the worst.

The conditions of my mercury that I feel contribute are this.
Mercury conjunct mars in 12th square Gemini moon.

There's a few things I've done that really help.
One is to remind yourself as often as you can that you DO, do this. Always remember that it can be, and likely is just your imagination.

Keep your mind busy on a daily basis. Crosswords, drawing, exercise, and I like music. Anything. Find some outlets for that energy in your brain that just snowballs.
Stay calm. Be direct but don't assume. Meaning, if something bothers you so much then you can politely ask them. Or ask them somewhat investigative questions and see how they respond.
Learn to first, separate your thoughts from your intuition. Focus and listen to yourself. It's critical that you don't allow thought to run over your intuition. Trust your intuition. It's easy to mix them so you'll just have to practice.
Assume the other person is a good trustworthy person. I know that's kind of the problem but TREAT them as if you feel that way. You can't treat them as if they are not trustworthy if they haven't given you any reason to. Give yourself time before you speak or act. Fight and fight yourself to not let it out. Just buy some time and after a while that person generally, without them even knowing, prove you wrong. You'll begin to see that it really is all in your head.

DF is right. I think anything touching Pluto goes into overdrive and, like with most things, if you have an excess of energy in one area of your life it's better to keep yourself busy and focused on trivial mundane tasks - basically living in the moment, literally.

DF has good advice in there about giving people time and also always, always, ALWAYS keeping your mind positively active and engaged.

Treat a person as he is, and he will remain as he is. Treat a person as if he were where he could be and should be, and he will become what he could be and should be.

The worst thing is, though, that having easily delusional aspects with neptune, my Pluto tries to compensate but it doesn't really work like that to find reality. But if I ignore it ill end up with obsessed and paranoid partners probably because I have the opp but in either case I think passing material through those circuits for the sake of it - even doing puzzles helps stave off that kind of thinking. Try sporcle!

Ooh! Me too! I'd write more but this is perfectly explained.

And I've always felt that I'd be a good detective or lawyer. But for some reason I chose neither career. At least not yet! There is always time.

I have mercury sextile jupiter ( Pis 3rd ) - it helps to lighten up.

I always feel like I am in between light and darkness.

I think this is a very good point! When my BS detector goes off, that person gets put in the keep at arms length category. So I've never really had the need (if that's the right word?) to get to the paranoid point.

I tend to figure out people's preferences and some people do not text back ... (Cough... Earth signs) in their head they think it makes sense as it means they have nothing to add.

This all takes practice and you WILL fail at times. Barbie and I were just talking the other night. People really tend to underestimate mercury sometimes. It can be a real powerhouse.

I am suspicious about other's motive, but ONLY when i feel something IS GOING ON. I trust people and lovers if they deserve it, but the moment i start losing trust, normally, THERE IS A REASON. I would say that is difficult to fool me and maybe it makes me more paranoid that those without the aspect, but hey.. at least i never get caught by surprise.

I've always had a tendency to think (merc.) very deeply (pluto) and I always go back over situations I've been in and conversations that I've had with people multiple times which I feel is because of my Mercury being in retrograde (reverse, having to go back over things). I have to analyze every little thing that's said/done around me and try to understand why people do the things they do, what their motives are, how things have affected me and my mood and the moods of people around me. It gets pretty exhausting lol.

I also like to delve deeply into any subject that I'm interested in and I almost get obsessed with whatever I'm into or reading about. I like finding the deep and hidden meanings in things. And since Mercury has to do with communication I find that I love having deep conversations with people. Small talk grates on my nerves after awhile because I feel that it's pointless. I'd rather get down to the deep seated issues that people are having in their lives and have intense emotional and heartfelt discussions that bond me deeper with people.

Also My rising sign is Virgo which is ruled by Mercury and my Sun, Mercury, Venus and Saturn are all in the 6th house which is ruled by Virgo and Mercury so I feel like this strengthens Mercury in my chart and amplifies everything I've just talked about lol.
