Hi, everyone!I’ve been reading through similar threads like this one on the forum (and other sites), but I’m not really finding clear answers, so I thought I’d make a new post. (I also didn't want to hijack the recent "How could Pluto have the power?" thread as this is a bit different, IMO.) I was hoping someone could enlighten me as to the obsession supposedly found in the following: Venus square Pluto Mars opposite Pluto Is the Pluto person the only one to feel the obsessive qualities of these aspects? I’m always Pluto and can attest to the feelings of obsession found with both of these two aspects; however, does the Venus or Mars person feel the same level of intensity/obsession/feeling? I’m at a loss. IP: Logged |

I would say yes, it's mutually felt. I remember I had sun square pluto with an ex-boyfriend and we were definitely equally obsessive IP: Logged |

That's very interesting. I wouldn't have thought the sun would be affected like that. (I wonder if the hard aspect is what triggered the feelings of obsession on the sun's side.) Anyone else? IP: Logged |

I would say it's a tug-o'-war.Venus is enchanted and obsessed with Pluto's intensity/mystery. Pluto feels in control. The moment Venus shows signs of independence, Pluto fears loss of control and gets obsessed, trying to reel Venus back in with power plays. Venus fears loss of control and pulls away. Pluto hates this, so plays indifferent... So on and so forth. Every aspect is a different seesaw with the hard aspects, unless both are highly mature individuals. The energy is just way intense. I like your description, lvASTRO: "Tug-o'-war" is exactly how it feels to me! It is intense and exhausting, IMO. I guess where I was confused is if the other planet(s) Pluto touches feel the same level of intensity or if Pluto is alone on that front (especially with Mars and Venus). I would think Pluto triggers the same kind of responses in those two planets in hard aspect...

I think it depends on the natal aspects of the people involved. If neither has the same aspect in their own chart, it would be, as others have said, a tug of war type situation where both parties are similarly invested. However, when Venus or Mars is aspecting Pluto in the natal and therefore aspecting the Pluto of everyone born in the same year, Venus or Mars could take or leave Pluto. I have a close Venus/Pluto opposition in my own chart, so I have the same aspect with everyone born within a few years of me. I don't know if it's just because I'm so familiar with that energy in my own chart or what, but it doesn't impress me in and of itself. I think those who don't have a Venus Pluto aspect in their own chart are more drawn to me than I am to them when we have this aspect. Of course, when I AM really interested in someone and we have this aspect, I can feel it come into play in the relationship. I can become obsessive about Pluto. But the aspect by itself doesn't do anything for me because I have it with so many people. Now I don't have a Mars/Pluto aspect in my chart, so when I have that aspect with someone it's a very different story😄 IP: Logged |

I have Venus conjunct Pluto in natal, but I still experience the stereotypical Pluto/Venus dynamic in synastry. My conjunction isn’t very close, though--it’s at eight degrees. I wonder if that’s the same as not having it at all, lol.IP: Logged |

This is worthy of google lvASTRO. I have been looking for a clear explanation of Venus-Pluto synastry, and this is exactly what it is like. I have Venus Pluto Quindecile Natally, and my guy has Venus loosely conjunct Pluto natally. In synastry, my Venus Quindecile his Pluto and my Pluto conjunct his Venus. So like you said, its a CONSTANT battle of wills, desires, and control. I bite on his passive aggressiveness, then he backs away, then I back down, then he stalks me. It's horrible, but addictive.

Okay yea, I have Mars/Pluto along with Moon/Pluto & Sun/Pluto in my chart, and I completely agree. I definitely feel like people are more drawn to me when they don't have their own pluto aspects.
