The interpretations for natal Saturn in the 5th aren't very positive nor welcoming to read when your self esteem is low.

I would like to know how Saturn in the 5th manifests for those who have it there natally ?

The only thing it really does is make me not ever want to be around kids lol. Except for my cousin, but she's so "in your face" that I don't have a choice. I'm also not into casual dating with men. I need serious relationships only.

My Saturn is in Aries, though so it DOES tend to make me more shy and reclusive while other people my age go to parties and drink and hook up a lot. It's with Mercury so I guess it's not a total loss. Plus, Saturn delays. While I was a very serious, quiet child, I'm much more different now. All good things in time I suppose.

I have Saturn in 5th Aqua. I need sincerity in all kinds of relationships or I just walk away. As a child i was kind of shy too. I don't feel the effects as strongly anymore, thank god! But yes id say it has limited my self-expression before a lot. I have nothing against kids, but can't rly comment on having my own since im only in my early 20s. I dunno, children would hypotethically seem as a burden for me. But time will tell!

exactly! everything you said is exactly me. i don't hate kids really, but i don't want any of my own. saturn in the 5th really screwed me over in high school or so i thought! while everyone else was satisfied with superficial friendships and conversations, i just couldn't do it. and i got out of there a different and much better person.

I agree with this so much, haha!

I will say having a fifth house Saturn in Pisces can make me not really take interest in superficial relationships!

I'm glad my moon/pluto can detect if it's sincere or not sometimes. I also will add that I kinda dread small talk sometimes to as well, but I think my Gemini mercury still loves to listen and converse sometimes ,haha!

Welcome shyberry!
Out of pure curiosity - Are you an artist?
We were having a conversation about art on another thread and I was saying Saturn in the 5th could work (make a career for themselves) in an artistic field.
But Saturn can also represent an area of life where you have struggles as SolarLeoQueen mentioned - so I was wondering how this plays out in your life

thank you, odette! you're a bit late on the welcome though hehe

hmm...depends on what you mean by artist. drawing/painting? sadly, no. but i'm a mean machine with writing and music! which makes me a tad bit confused since it's said that saturn blocks creativity? i have no trouble with mine

mercury in gemini is such a great placement! you're so lucky i have mine in taurus and those cookbook interpretations are correct...i am slow and moon/pluto is also very nice too. i love being around people with a strong pluto in their charts

the funny thing is though a lot of the interpretations for saturn in the 5th say that we will have a hard time opening up to people, take relationships very seriously...and well...a lot of people are like that and i doubt they all have saturn in their 5th house!

I was curious to see how those with Saturn in the 5th approach the topic of dating.

Is it for keeps, do you have a hard time playing it light?
How do you go about meeting a partner, or going after a potential partner.
Does the idea of dating "for fun" seem completely dull or passé..etc.

I think that mercury in Taurus is a wonderful placement because it makes you more stable and stand your ground when it comes to your opinion or knowledge! On the other hand with the "Gemini mercury", we can be very all over the place and just scan the surface of things. I will admit that I can pick up on things with ease and communicate it,but I also can easily forget it just as fast! (then pick it back up again later, haha). The nervous energy can be a lot too, haha!

I feel like when you learn something with your placement, you never forget, especially if its something grounded!

Are you a Taurus or Gemini sun by chance?

I'm not interested in engaging in casual sex and casual relationships. I intend to remain childless. My fertility is most likely decreased anyway. I don't really have a love and sex life and I don't know if it'll ever change. I got over partying when I was still in my teens. I think I need a job that is based on using artistic talents/creativity/intuition to feel fulfilled. Something I'd feel passionate about. Something that wouldn't feel like work to me. Have I mentioned I have a packed 5th house?

that's true i'm hesitant on changing my views and i'm very stubborn. it makes my mom really angry hahaha

with all of that nervous energy i can imagine that you're very energetic when you speak? one of my teachers had a gemini mercury and boy was he sarcastic...he was always VERY quick with funny comebacks too while i never thought of anything witty until the day after!

wow, yes i'm a taurus sun!

Yep Saturn is where the work is, so the sign would be the qualities to develop in your job/career path, and in general. Makes complete sense.

Thnx mm and no didnt know packed 5th, does it have a node or luminary?
