I was off on a run and start thinking about someone I dated who had a Leo rising and she had a tendency to speak loud without realizing.Then I realized my best high school buddy that I've made fun of for years also speaks at a high volume without realizing. Has anyone else noticed this? Is this an attribute to assign Leo rising? IP: Logged |

In my opinion, it is. It's kinda like a roar.
I have also had people tell me I speak too loud sometimes and ask me to speak lower.

Masculine energy seems to indicate loudness in general. Dominance of such energy could be the cause. Mars in the third house can be another culprit. IP: Logged |

My brother is a Leo Riser, not a loud talker at all. Calm and low actually. Aries Merc to boot. Forgot what his aspects are.------------------

The lady, who is by far the louder one of the two has Mars in the 3rd. She talks loud almost as a default. The guy doesn't have the 3rd house Mars but he only tends to talk loud when worked up but he never realizes it either. I think Mars in the 3rd house is the culprit. IP: Logged |

Leo asc @ 29.21 degrees here & yea I can be loud lol. This trait also runs in my family though where we'll be discussing a hot topic & get loud. People usually think it's getting heated but no we're just passionate about what we're discussing with one another  IP: Logged |

Quiet Leo asc here. I have a fire dominant chart too. However, I do tend to be animated and overly excitable or dramatic in my speech at times (even if my volume is low). ------------------

Quiet leo rising with fire chart here 
And i have sag mercury conjunct sun and aries moon.
Very aware of others being loud too. My scorp moon people are loud and make me cringe in certain settingsMaybe it's a respect thing? I don't want to sonically invade other people's space. Lol Also, mars in virgo in the first maybe tones it down IP: Logged |

Supposedly Leo rising (guys especially) that don't have a strong presence or strong voice are more likely actually Cancer rising (or Virgo if the time suggests late Leo). Its not that Leo risers 'must' be loud, but if they do not have strength of presence, then there will have to be strong angular aspects to the Asc and/or Moon/Sun that explain this. (Neptune, Saturn, etc.) ------------------

My mom is a Leo rising and she definitely has a tendency to talk loud. Sometimes she acts a little surprised when someone mentions it, but she is aware of it. It's just simply how she speaks. But yes, sometimes annoyingly loud.My boyfriend is also a Leo rising, but I wouldn't really say he talks loud. He just talks very passionately, with laughter and all smiles. IP: Logged |

Aspects to Saturn maybe? What's your sun sign? My dad is a loud Leo rising, but my older brother (also Leo rising) is just pompous. (And I'm a Leo!) I have Aries on my 3rd, so my words can be rather blunt, but I've also got the rather low-key Mercury in Virgo in the 7th. I have a low voice. I would say look at the third house and Mercury too, since these modify things. If anything I would think the LOUDEST would be Sagittarius rising.

22 Degree Leo Rising here. I am not loud, my voice is soft and low. I get the feeling most people struggle to hear what I say.Am I capable of being loud? Absolutely, if I need to call something out, or instruct a group of people. Why talk loud when you don't have to? I don't feel you can attribute a lack of volume control to a single placement. If that was the case, then everyone I ever see in a pub must have a Leo Rising, cause the volume is ridiculous. ------------------

Same here! 23 degrees Leo rising, 3rd house Scorpio Mars, 1st house virgo Mercury conjunct Sun. I can be loud if I have to, I'm not shy, but I don't like to overpower other people in a conversation. I was speaking very softly and low until my teens and I always felt embarrased because teachers always said "speak up! We can;t here you"
Then I suddenly lift up my voice and stopped hiding. I'm not loud, I'm just a confident speaker.
