By chart layout, I mean the shapes the planets form (locomotive, triangle, bucket, etc.). I have a half-triangle my signs fall into the second half of the zodiac from Virgo to Pisces. I noticed that the celebrities I like have the same shape. I don't know their exact birth times.

What happens if the same chart shapes overlap in a synastry chart? What about if they form a mirror image from each other?

Your experience is proving your theory has validity: If you gravitate towards people whose chart resembles or mirrors your own, that's your truth.

And I also assume that people with the same chart type have an advantage in seeing eye-to-eye. In my case, more than once I've seen a celebrity talking, guessed that he or she has a splash chart like my own, and then discovered my guess was correct. There's a kind of energy signature associated with my chart type, and a corresponding world-view. (One astrologer calls this the chart of the "prototypical universal citizen" because we can see things from many different angles and therefore relate to many kinds of people. On the downside, we tend to scatter our energies.)

If your preference for people with your own chart type is very pronounced, there may be reasons for that within your chart, something about you that likes to see your own traits showcased in a larger way, through celebrities...I'm thinking, a sun-Venus-Jupiter conjunction or triangle might do it? But that's a wild guess.

It depends, I think.

Rather than go on and on and on let's just say this.
A hammer hits a nail and accomplishes a lot. Two hammers hitting each other does nothing.

I came across someone last year with a very very similar chart as mine. As far as personal planets I think moon was the only one really different. We were even the same rising sign so house/sign layout was very similar.

Understanding was absent.

I have a Yod, a Boomerang and a Stellium in my chart. Peolpe that are close to me have a Yod, T-Square or a Stellium. It is easier to get along with these people as I do not need to explain every detail of my life.

Looking at the different shapes, I have the bundle shape. And I can relate to what you say about relating to celebrities after hearing them talking. In my case, it's that and reading interviews. They are very intelligent and talented, the two qualities that made me attracted to them in the first place.

For your Sun-Jupiter-Venus theory, I have Sun opposing Jupiter, and Venus trine Jupiter in my natal chart. I have to check how those planets are laid out on my celebrities' birth charts. I know that from analyzing the Pullen aspects for planet dominance, there is a sure Venus aura in the chart. Venus is the second dominant planet in my chart. 3 out of 4 celebrities that are in my Astro.com account have Venus dominants either as the first or the second planet from their charts.
