For example both my 7th and 8th are empty, but both their cusps are on Aries. Placidus house system is the one i have my chart on.

Im going to answer for myself and others who were wondering. Simple googling gave me the answer.

The latitude of the place of birth is the reason. The closer you were born to the South/North poles, the more likely it is to have extended house sizes. For example in my chart the houses of the "North and South" of my birth chart are wider than 30 deg and houses of "East and West" are narrower than 30 deg. And this causes the intercepted signs!
