I don’t think that one ever “stops” being a particular Sun-sign. But the progressions are also significant. I say this because I noticed a radical “shift” in my focus this year – that is very different from previous years.
Transits explained just a little bit, but not enough to convince me that this was a fundamental change. Because really, that is how it is feeling right now.
So when I checked my progressed Sun, I found it was lingering on the 29th Degree of Cap and shifted to Aquarius sometime this year. It was an “aha” moment.
I am not so concerned about the past anymore and want to start something new. I want to do something completely different. My progressed Sun coincided with my Saturn return.
I wouldn’t say that the progressed chart “outweighs” the natal. It is exactly that; a “progress” report. An evaluation on what the status quo is and what matters to you right now. But you will always be your Sun sign.
A Sag who has progressed Sun moved to Capricorn becomes more serious about life.
This happened to me when I was 1 year of age. That is why my mother thought that I was a Cap Sun.
A Virgo whose Sun progresses to Scorpio (probably at an older age) may become more sexually provocative or conversely decide to abstain/cut down from sex altogether.
A Capricorn whose Sun progressed to Pisces wants to care for people a lot more: Their stance on money, success and power shifts. They feel an obligation to the downtrodden. They may even start to see the “benefits” of smoking weed and lazing around all day.
Heaven help those who are already married to an Aries whose Sun progresses to Taurus. The stubbornness will increase but the good news is, they will become more “sensual” instead of looking just for physical gratification.
For the single Gemini whose Sun progresses to Cancer, they may want marriage/ to commit a lot more
