To answer your question, a stellium is when there are 3+ planets in one house. Usually, it is more potent when the planets involved are the personal planets. The house in which the stellium falls is the "area of focus" of the stellium. It shows a lot of activity in that specific area of life. It becomes a decisive and defining aspect of one's character. It is often recommended that one should also look to the opposite house and direct more attention there to create a balance between the area of focus and the opposition of the area of focus. I have a 5 planet stellium in the 1st house (self). In general, I should focus on 7th house (relationships and/or partnerships) issues to establish balance in my life. However, I have Chiron conjunct Vertex in the 7th in opposition to that stellium. I realized that I have found my balance not through romantic relationships (which cause me pain and stress, and hence why I do not date) but in therapizing, helping, and healing others. Unfortunately, my stellium is impaired by Chiron, so I never find myself too focused on myself to begin with. Hope this helps! To be more specific, I believe that when a stellium consists of planets that tightly conjunct each other, it makes it even more potent because the energies are tightly fused. 4 planets of my stellium are conjunct and I feel that they construct a large and dominant part of my psyche and that, thanks to the mutual reception between 1st and 12th, the focus is on conscious vs unconscious self. If there is anything 1st house-esque about me, it would my need to understand and reconcile my identity.

this more or less sums it up. however, the stellium can continue into 2 houses and does not need to be in 1 house - provided they still conjunct. i have a 7 planet stellium, 5 fall into the beginning of a house and 2 conjunct from the last degrees of the prior house. the planets are all tightly conjunct and do not exceed 9 degrees. t makes you intensely aware of the area of life/house that stellium falls into, almost to the point of obsession(s). it's important, imo, with a stellium, to recognize that you'll be inordinately focused on things and try really hard to diversify yourself and not become overwhelmed by one or two things and negclect other areas. a stellium can also "change" you to some extent. i have a rather "soft" sun sign by itself, but because the sun conjuncts the mars and pluto exact it turns me pretty aggressive. a stellium, as the above post indicated, fuses the energies to such an extent that they can overwhelm softer parts of your chart and actually have you behave in ways that are more aggressive/soft, depending upon what planets are involved. Excellent point, starmoon. I'm in a similar boat and very much agree. IP: Logged |

Well I don't have 3 or more planets in one house, but I have my Ascendant, Venus & Mars conjunct each other in Cancer. Hence my username :P
