We've had this before where people have asked, "What is the most intelligent sign?"

No no NO. That's not what this is. It's not to cause any problems. I am genuinely quite curious.

There's a guy at work. SUPER nice guy! I chat with him sometimes. That dude is SMART!
I work in Plastic Mold Injection.
That guy knows the molecular properties of all the plastics (even that we don't use), how they behave, etc etc. He knows so much about the mechanics, hydraulics, the electronics, the different technologies available. He's custom designed parts for us that we thought could be improved. He's into physical fitness as a hobby and knows quite a lot about that. Knows quite a bit about history. Just a LOT of things! I sometimes sit there and think, "How does this guy KNOW all of this crap? What ELSE does he know?!?"

Brief breakdown:
He's a Sag sun and Moon
Scorpio Mercury, Venus, and Mars.
Mercury, the planet that I suspect will be primarily used in this thread, conjunct Neptune. (sag)

His mercury sextile Jupiter sounds about right, since Jupiter is benefic and represents knowledge and education, and the sextile is potential for growth. What is aspecting his Jupiter?

Other than that I would say Mercury/Uranus. The people I have met with this aspect are often super smart, but no one wants to give them the satisfaction of telling them so because they're so smug about it! Lol

Well I guess it just depends on how you define intelligence. Personally I think curiosity is what separates intelligent people from unintelligent people, I think it's really that simple. You don't just have knowledge, you had to acquire it at some point and curiosity is what drove you to acquire it. You would be shocked how many people go through life not asking questions or seeking out knowledge. So if curiosity determines how intelligent a person is what placements and/or aspects indicate curiosity? Personally I think prominent: mercury/gemini/3rd house, jupiter/sagittarius/9th house, or Uranus/aquarius/11th house indicates curiosity/intelligence. Maybe it's a little vague but that's my take on things.

What do you have a mercury/Uranus aspect? Lol

Yeah his Jupiter is making only nice aspects and his mercury is sextile Jupiter. Sounds good to me!

From what I've read about mercury/Neptune, it makes for creativity.

uranus is the higher octave of mercury - so a mercury uranus aspect (with maybe maybe the exception of the square).

(but then again there are different kinds of smarts)

It is good that you observe people, DF, and go to the charts. That is one of the best ways to learn.

My baby brother Brandon is a savant; he is intelligent, but in a very unconventional way. He loves tinkering with gadgets and electronics, and is BRILLIANT with people but gets very poor grades....It's downright frustrating at times. He can retain memory like a computer, and memorizes facts like you wouldn't believe, but he has a really hard time focusing in a school setting

*Taurus Sun in 6th square Uranus in Aquarius in 3rd.
*Quaoar conjunct Pluto in Sag in 1st trine Uranus in Aquarius in 3rd AND Mercury/Moon(3 orb)in Aries.
*Uranus in Aquarius in 3rd sextile Mercury in Aries in 5th.
*Quaoar in Sag in 1st quincunx Sun/Mars in Taurus in 6th.
*Chiron in Scorpio in 12th quincunx Mercury/Moon in Aries in 5th
*Uranus in 3rd in Aquarius sextile Moon/Mercury in 5th in Aries.

I, on the other hand, have always been really, really book smart but quite dumb in the real world....people call me incredibly naive, despite the fact that I know better; I let me emotions overshadow logic often.

*Mercury in Taurus in 9th BiQuintile Quaoar in 3rd in Scorpio, Trine Uranus in 4th in Capricorn, Trine Neptune in 5th in Capricorn, Sextile Jupiter in 10th in Cancer, Trine ASC in Virgo.(GT Earth with Mercury,ASC,Uranus)
*Quaoar in 3rd in Scorpio Quintile ASC and Quintile NN in 5th in Aquarius(3 orb)
*Quaoar in 3rd in Scorpio Quindecile Sun/MC in Gemini in 10th.
*Jupiter in 10th in Cancer opposite Uranus in 4th in Capricorn

EDIT: I'm learning sooo much from people on here. I didn't even know about parallel's or contra-parallel's until this thread.

My Mercury is contra-parallel Quaoar by 1*
My Jupiter is contra-parallel Uranus exact and both are OOB's.

See the difference? We are both intelligent people, we just display it differently.

No in his chart.

But I did forget that my own chart has the trine.

TRUUUUUUUUUUU. My bad.

I don't like to look at asteroids as primary source of reference but rather a supportive one. Then again, my knowledge on asteroids isn't exactly extensive. So I must feign ignorance to some extent.

I agree, people tend to get trigger happy with asteroids and use them as the foundation of explanation. They can support and have a role, but I wouldn't place them as the defining end all end all.

All of the ideas in here are great, make sense.

I have Mercury-Jupiter, Uranus-Moon, and Quoar is sextile Mercury, sextile Jupiter, and quintile Neptune.

Iz I a Jeeneeus?

That is interesting! I wouldn't say you are dumb though, I think this is similar to the life path thread that you are idealistic and want to see the best in everyone.

With Mercury conjunct Mars, the mind is on FIRE, this is also an ADHD aspect.

Is that conjunction part of a difficult configuration? That will do it.

wherestheMoon Mercury/Uranus genius aspect.

The square gives it too. Luckily I have Saturn opposite Uranus or it would be more erratic.

Einstein had the quincunx.

I know you said no generic signs but...but!

Think about it.

Mercury in Scorpio will dig, and dig, and dig, naturally. Seeing as how they have the mind of Hades and all. The crazy part is they remember it ALL. Every last detail. Me having Mercury in Aries (conjunct my Sun, mind you) I don't have the ability to. I simply don't, and it's a shame because I LOVE information...but only at the moment I love it. Scorpio is a fixed sign so they are more committed to research than I.

Sags being ruled by Jupiter also seem a lot more knowledgable than their counterpart Geminis. I think Sags learn and "know" subjects, but Geminis express themselves better. Nearly all the Sagittariuses I know are extremely smart and it makes me jealous, but in a good way. In that "I'm so impressed, can I get in your pants?" way. And THEY know, because Jupiter expands everything it touches.

So, you combine Sag Sun with Mercury in Scorpio and you will have one hell of a lawyer.

Mercury conjunct jupiter
Mercury with Uranus
Mercury with Mars
AND Mercury with Pluto
All these aspects provide some kind of cleverness.
