I'm curious as how this may manifest, any ideas?

What occurred during your Pluto square?

The Pluto square natal Pluto transit occurs earlier in life for the younger set than for our parents and grandparents. Previously it came at mid-life (along with Uranus opp natal Uranus) -- at around the early to mid-40s age range. It occurred for me in my mid-30s.

It is a time of testing one's personal empowerment structure and overall consciousness about yourself. False or flimsy mechanisms of dependency or independence may be exposed, as well as any shady dealings you have engaged in.

I experienced this transit from about 2004-08 and it was a time of breakdown and regeneration (psychological and physical) as suggested described in Robert Hand's book Planets in Transit. This is one of the best sources for understanding this and all other major transits.

"This transit signifies a period of general regeneration, which may not be entirely pleasant. Most of us are attached to our past whether or not it is good for us. And this transit will root out precisely those elements of the past that are not good for you, even those aspects you have forgotten about..."

-- Robert Hand, Planets in Transit, p.517

Everyone experiences this transit in their 30s or 40s, depending on when they were born.

You will experience it in your own way, but don't think of it so much as how 'it will manifest.' This is to let the belief that 'it happens to me' put you into a passive posture. Instead, look at it as an opportunity and know you can come out a better person on the other side.

It offers the opportunity for purging what weakens your personal empowerment and replacing it with something stronger.

your 10th house Pluto has to do with authority and recognition.

My natal Pluto is in 2nd house - cash flow.

so...
My first square happened right after my first child was born. I previously had decided to be a stay-at-home mom. This transit urged me to spend money solely for the benefit of my child's future, because I had plans for her and took parenting very seriously at the time.

Pluto had just entered Sag so I spent money on exploration, learning, traveling and having fun with her. Even though it was a very expansive time for all of us and we marveled at how full of life experience our child gained, it caused great strife in my marriage, so I compromised by shopping at yard sales and 2nd hand stores, living at the library and attending free events.

Shortly thereafter I gave birth to a second child and began a part time job which caused even further strife because my husband did not want to watch the children at night while I went to work even though he insisted I go out and make money. So Pluto basically destroyed my marriage because I wanted it all for my children and didn't know how to balance this with what my husband wanted for us. If I had known then what I know now, I would have done things differently. Pluto wants it all, at once. It's not very patient.

For him, his Pluto nearly conjunct mine but in a different house, he experienced a complete upheaval in his love life, gave less attention to our daughter as a result (his mother was absent growing up and I had become his mother replacement so our daughter competed for his attention), and found tension in his friendships which mostly consisted of my family members due to a relocation and hence more jealousy. I'm so sorry now that I didn't pay attention back then to our differences in upbringing.

How we grow up, our family environment, is the key to how we relate to others when we are grown. It doesn't really have anything to do with class, or status, or money, or education, it has to do with relationship.

Oops, have I said too much? I will keep it here anyway.

D., your pluto transit may bring out issues of balancing relationships with authority figures, perhaps boss or parent, or those under you, perhaps resentments enter into work or love life. the sign is important as well as the house. balance, fairness, is the key with libra. capricorn will make you more serious and determined than usual about achievements. you may want to be number one authority and be it Now, so pay attention to timing and to what it is that you actually desire to achieve

with my natal pluto in leo, i just wanted recognition for being a good mom and appreciation for the attention i gave to my children's well-being, and support for reentering the work force with a creative fun job that was a joy and an escape from responsibility at home.

d., thanks for starting this thread. I'm thinking more and more about what happened in my life before I knew astrology, and looking at events in reference to transits, after the fact. Natural urges in full force. by studying past life events, cycles, timings, we gain most powerful self-awareness. Awareness allows us to change the course of nature and to be our own directors of our future.

I just went through this....a lot of self discovery and solidifying who I am, what I want, how I want my life to go, who and what I will allow in my life.

My Pluto is on my AC, transit Pluto on my IC
