The Air Asia Tragedy [Their Flight with 162 people is likely to have crashed, yesterday morning] and the sudden fire in a ferry [478 passengers] on the Adriatic Sea, plus a sudden cold wave in Europe are the latest additions to difficult events during the Pluto-Uranus square. The most terrible one being the Peshawar School shooting.

Saturn's entry into Sagittarius has not brought any respite. Since Sagittarius rules Long Distance Travel, we might see more travel based disruptions in 2015, during the 7th and last of the Pluto-Uranus squares.

Also, Immigrants in every country should look out for increased instances of Xenophobia in the next 2.5 years.

Noticed this showing up with news about Greece, Italty and France. I am concerned about how far it will go in 2015.

Nothing gives relief from Uranus square Pluto except for Jupiter, which temporarily allows greater outward expression of the internalized/social tensions. The Uranus-Pluto cycle relates to the collective "I" (Uranus) in tension/balance with the concentrated power of cabals/banks/plutocrats (Pluto). Uranus is more expansive/free-flowing, Pluto contractive/retentive.

For Saturn to sedate this is to further suppress tensions that have been building up and ignored by people collectively because it was not important enough or practical to deal with for years. No solution.

In the 1960s the Uranus-Pluto conjunction brought the urge by many to 'check out' and not participate in the system and start setting their own rules (or avoid them altogether). This was necessary, but did not play well within the system as it continued (politics).

While it might appear that Saturn would have a sedating or calming effect upon such Uranian tensions, these must be expressed outwardly in society so that we can really see what we have been dealing with in the way of unspoken or suppressed attitudes, etc, and so that we can actually practice those ideals of free speech, free association, etc, etc. Unfortunately that leads to the exposure of the uglier aspects associated with scapegoating ...

I agree. Unfortunately, while Uranus in Aries brings out the inventiveness in individuals and the desire to take one's initiative and genius further than normal, it also tends to bring out reactionary attitudes in which personal 'anti-' attitudes get magnified. Its as if the circuit of dialogue and learning related to social learning gets short-circuited in favor of the pursuit of personal liberties.

Uranus/revelation in high tension with Pluto/retention of power (by those already in power).

This is a time in which those who refuse to scapegoat others can look at society as a whole and talk about where we are headed, as well as expose the problems that create many of the tensions we are experiencing socially, economically, etc.

With Uranus involved there are probably some unavoidable, some avoidable accidents taking place with flight travel. But the relative rarity of such events makes them the least of our concerns. More concerning is the quality of dialogue and actions of groups in society.

Are we solving problems and making life better for more people?
(Some of that did happen in the last Uranus-Pluto conjunction. Back to nature, alternative communities, etc).

Or are we building tensions and filling the blame bucket as we can see in hindsight happened in the 1960s in the right/left political dynamic?

Good post Kannon.

There is some good news as well. All the positive effort and sacrifices made during this Uranus-Pluto square period will see the excellent reward of positive transformation across the planet in 2023, the year where Uranus and Pluto will be making a trine angle. After this period, the ultimate revolutionary movements for Humanity begin when Pluto enters Aquarius. For me, that is the True beginning of the "Age of Aquarius". The last time we had Pluto in Aquarius, it was the continued success of America against the Red Coats and later on the Fall of the Bastille.

I don't dispute the Uranus/Pluto square effects. But doesn't the extent or potency of a transit also depend on the country it affects?(with regards to xenophobic attacks that is).

SA- which is usually surface polite(Moon in Libra)but occasionally volatile(Mars in Aries opposition)experienced a wave of xenophobic attacks that erupted in May 2008.

When I looked at progressed chart, the progressed Moon was in Aries widely conjunct progressed Mars in Aries,Mercury opposed natal Pluto(exact),progressed Moon square natal Uranus, progressed Moon square Neptune(exact)-hysteria.

In the Solar Arc chart,Solar Arc Moon squared natal Uranus,Solar Arc mercury opposed natal Jupiter(exact)-inability to think clearly.

There are other strong indications. But if you look at the transits at the time- it was all very hum drum really.

Only transiting Jupiter squaring progressed Mars could directly indicate violence-mostly against foreigners(Jupiter). But little else.
