This is not as dramatic as it sounds, but I am extremely shocked and confused by the information that I have just discovered. As it changes my understanding of my family rather significantly - lol.My mother was born in an African city on 20 January 1961. I have always believed that she is a Capricorn, but after consulting with a number of sites... she may be an Aquarius!!!!???? It depends on if she was born before 12pm or after Unfortunately, she does not know/remember the time she was born - annoying!!!! What do YOU think distinguishes a Capricorn sun person from an Aquarius sun person? IP: Logged |

Thinking of those I know of each sign ..Capricorns seem to really care about career and/or be known for the career they've elected to do, defined somehow by others in that way. Aquarians seem to have a lot of different hobbies / range of interests over time and again be known for that. Also, even if not especially social I do think they are viewed or again defined for some presence in a social environment. I also always think of aquas having a duality of being unique, eccentric and yet creatures of habit, conservative. But even if conservative like caps are expected this in itself would have an an eccentricity to it, almost parody it and take it to a new level. I know these are pretty basic assumptions but it's my relative experience too Maybe the surprise of being potentially another sign in itself is Uranian IP: Logged |

My Sun progressed from Cap to Aquarius. I feel much lighter.I think Cap-as said above- focuses on being "productive" a lot. Ambition, achievement and all that are important. Especially when the progressed Moon moves to Aries,Gemini,Cancer Virgo,Scorpio or Capricorn. When in Aquarius, you become more concerned with humanity as a whole. What is going on in the world and all that. Issues of equality, workers rights, liberation, political landscape etc are of interest. You start to think of yourself as a part of a bigger group. They are VERY different. The Cappy Sun will be very dignified. He will value respect, more than ANYTHING at all. He is kind of an old fashioned person. He does not follow trends. He will not do things to be cool. He will follow what is "right"
The Aqua person tends to follow trends. She tends to be taken in by what is "in" She would be much more likely to follow a crowd than to stand alone. She would be more likely to eschew traditional values and go for trendy ones.
That is just a bit of how I see it.

Plus first decan Aquas are more saturnian any way.... For OP, capricorn likes to play it safe. They want to be viewed for their work and status. Cap also like to tell how they have struggled and become who they are today... Aquas are too self denial for that

My son's gf was also born on that day. She has several old astro books of her mother's that say she's capricorn. I put her info in at astro.com and it says she's aqua. She got very upset about that! She seems very capricorn to me. And my son has cap moon so that makes more sense to me regarding their relationship.

If you look at her vedic chart she will be a cappy

I never felt like an aqua.. I mean I did because in ways I am very quirky, but the sun sign never fit me. Then I started learning about vedic astrology and everything cappy clicked.

Thank you to everyone for your responses @Gypseewind, it's not even my sun sign that is up for discussion, but even I was upset lol. I cannot imagine how she felt. The funny thing is, my mother actually exhibits the characteristics of both sun signs. With that said, I would say (from your responses) that she favours more of the Capricorn Sun sign description. She is very productive and HATES wasting time when it comes to housework and chores. Regardless of the time she goes to bed, she will always wake up early to get the job done. She is also quite strict. @theunknown, I think I have heard her struggle story ONE to many times if I am honest :laugh: Conversely, she can be quite the humanitarian. At work, she is on her union and is always fighting against injustice. It is worth noting that I have been playing around on astro.com, and it seems that she could possibly be a Capricorn Sun with Aquarius Rising. Hence why both descriptions are somewhat relevant to her; and why we are quite similar when it comes fairness and speaking up against injustice (I am a Gemini Sun) IP: Logged |
