As I'm watching Moulin Rouge, one of my favorite movies, it dawned on me that it perhaps may be, because it beautifully describes the intricacies of my Natal Chart.Sun conj Uranus - Describes the unique/unusualness of the set, the mixing of music, the costumes. Dominant Venus/Taurus ruling MC/Libra Stellium - A story about love, a story about beauty, a story about investments and assets. Marrying the Duke? Diamonds. Sun in Scorpio/Sun in H3/Scorpio Stellium - A story about a courtesan, intense love, the underworld/A story about writing and communication/A story about the Moulin Rouge and Montemart community H2 Stellium including Moon, Pluto - Money. Diamonds. Investors. Value of love. Pluto conj NN - Power. Power. Power. (of Love ) Mars in H12 - Secret sex. Jupiter in H11 - Working with an organization, a cause (a Bohemian cause!) "The greatest thing, you'll ever learn, is to love, and to be loved-in return." So which movie describes your natal chart--and Why?

Omg, that was my favorite movie all during high school! It's still one of my favorites, but I think it's been topped by The Curious Case of Benjamin Button=) I also have Mars in H12 and Venus in Taurus, and the Venus/Pluto opposition, which I guess accounts for taboo love. I also have Venus trine Uranus (Venus is in H11) which I suppose accounts for how much I love the weirdness of that movie=) I also have Mercury in tenth house, and consider myself a writer, so I loved that aspect of the movie as well. Then with The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, I guess it's because Saturn is supposedly my dominant planet and Saturn in 7H. I also have my moon in Sagittarius, and I definitely think it's a Sagittarius type of movie. Lots of travel and foreign places and beautiful scenery. IP: Logged |

How interesting! Benjamin Button was a great movie--I always think of Capricorn when I see that movie, since Caps usually start off old and end young. IP: Logged |

Ha! I thought of Moulin Rouge too but my answers are completely different. I don't know aspects super well but these are what I thought of:Aqua sun - i mean, hello! a group of bohemian revolutionaries write a play about freedom, beauty, truth, and love....what could be more aquarius than the first hippies insulting bourgeois pigs through the arts lol Venus in Pisces - "Please tell me you're not one of Toulouse's oh so talented, charmingly bohemian, tragically impoverished writers" <--- that right there is EXACTLY who venus in pisces goes for. We fall for the tragic love story every single time and there's nothing more attractive to us than a passionate love-obsessed artist. Plus Ewan McGregor actually has his venus in pisces. *swooon* Mars in sag - the over=the-top ness, the chaos, the goofyness and silliness of things like "Will The Lovers Be Meeting at the Sitar Player's Humble Abode? scene" LOL Venus in 1st - the obsession with the aesthetics of the movie and all the beauty grandeur - although I think the actual visual stimulation of the movie was made through a venus in leo approach. Virgo moon - Baz Luhrmann attention to every single detail within the movie. IP: Logged |

I love The Big Blue and must, without exaggerating, have seen it +20 times. Sorry that I can't break it down in terms of aspects and placements. But I find both the female character and the male to be me. She wants to save him and he wants to find the ultimate freedom from society. IP: Logged |

Love it! Totally gives an entirely new perspective on Moulin Rouge!

Do you have an Aqua or Aries in your chart? Also any Sun/Uranus aspects?

I don't know if mine has been made yet, but it was probably written by Umberto Eco. Something where the layers and layers of the trivial and seemingly unconnected events suddenly show themselves to be not only connected but all part of the whole that is so interconnected that is difficult to see it all in the same single mental image. Then it's gone, leaving you questioning your sanity...That, or Star Trek. I like Star Trek too... IP: Logged |

It's been awhile since I've seen it but I'd say Brave (by Pixar). To be absolutely clear, I'm comparing the movie to the energies of my chart rather than events in my life. (but Granny would've loved it if I had long hair like the otherwise tomboyish Merida and wore a dress more like her...). Not shown in the movie I thought I'd share this brief clip that I think is such a perfect blend of Libra, Sag, and Leo (with touch of Gemini and Cancer), only the Scorpio parts (those parts are in the movie itself) are left out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWSfksdBoVQ I'll start with 3H Libra with the movie showing clear communication and thinking (also see 5H Sag on that) and harmony and seeking to be fair to one's self as well as to others though realizing sometimes full harmony just isn't going to happen, at least not without a lot of work and compromise...the 3H also represents the studies within it and the community/neighboring clans, and how important it is to maintain the harmony between the different clans, no matter how hard they find it to get along they know ultimately they must or they're all doomed...and thus does the 3H (on the 4H Scorpio cusp) Libra Saturn and Pluto watch warily and with concern as the 5H Sag energies manifest themselves with as much strength as the 3H Libra. Ah, 5H Sag...Merida is more about the fun (the Mars-Uranus conjunction within my 5H Sag is also a strong sign of the noncomformist as Merida is) with Sag moon, Mars, and Uranus (and don't forget Neptune) that throws a monkeywrench into the whole affair, and the Libra mercury mixed with Sag passion and philosophy really comes through beautifully through Merida in this scene (this after she learns the first born has the right to compete for the hand of herself and so as the first born exploits that loophole to compete for her own hand!): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vfDyiCY57eo Scorpio Jupiter in Fourth House, rules positive if sometimes frightening transformations as in the movie, including the role of the father within the movie though also the mother (but the most direct manifestation would be that of the witch, perhaps it's positive but even Scorpio energy at its best is dangerous and the transformation it causes normally comes with growing pains at the very least). NN Cancer is also represented by the closeness of the family as well as to tradition (which even though Merida challenges and even changes somewhat she comes to see the importance of it, both to herself and to the community) and also focused on the land of one clan, thus validating the 3H, but also new creations and beginnings and so embracing the 5H, all balanced by the 4H Scorpio! Finally, Gemini MC for the arts and the lore of the various clans (and how they interacted), though interaction would also be part of my Leo ASC (and again I should point out Merida's hair...).
