Mars represents one’s passions, all of one’s passions. This spans the gamut of passion for a relationship to passion for a career to expression of passion such as aggression or anger. Hence, Mars is a very important part of the nature of any given person. If one wants to see the mo-jo of the man in question, check out his Mars. When I use the term mo-jo, I am referring to get up and go, swag, game, and just general “push” in life. There is a Mars suited to every woman. In this case, one woman’s passion is another woman’s yawn factor. Hence, one cannot say that one Mars rules and another Mars bombs. However, some Mars are like race cars and others are like bicycles, the old two gear ones. However, for this article, we are not discussing Mars by sign, but by House. Hence, let’s look at Mars in the Houses.

Mars in the First House

This native will, probably, be assertive. If you step on his toe, he will not politely ignore. He will get in your face and say, “Bug Off”.

Mars in the Second House

This native will have a drive to make money. He may have been one of those children who had a paper route, a lemonade stand or other such enterprises. If you are looking for a financial go -getter, hook your wagon to this star.

Mars in the Third House

This native will tell you what he thinks. Don’t ask him if you derriere looks fat in that bathing suit if you don’t want the truth.

Mars in the Fourth House

This native cares a great deal about his home, both his childhood home and family, as well as his adult home. He may be a homebody or he may just be someone who spends a great deal of effort on making his home his castle.

Mars in the Fifth House

This native likes to play. If other things agree, this native may be a player in the arena of romance. One cannot come to that conclusion simply on the House of Mars but it is suggestive, shall we say. This native may crave a creative outlet. He may be a musician or an artist. He may love to joke and have a marvelous sense of humor, as well.

Mars in the Sixth House

This native will have a passion to serve others. One may find her as a nurse or a counselor. She may have a great interest in health, as well. This House is the House of the Healer. I have seen true healers in natural health with a Sixth House Mars such as my massage therapist who is gifted by God for massage.

Mars in the Seventh House

This native will desire a serious relationship. He will not be a player. He will be the kind of person who truly wants a “one and only”.

Mars in the Eighth House

This native has a desire to understand that which exists below the superficial level of things. Hence, he may be interested in subjects which deal with the depths of the mind, such as Psychology or the depths of the body, such as Surgery. He will likely be a deep person who desires the same level of depth in a partner.

Mars in the Ninth House

This native will want to find God. He will want to know why he was put on earth and for what purpose, He will, probably, want a higher education and to travel to far away lands

Mars in the Tenth House

This is my Mars. I, always, wanted to have a career. The Tenth House is the House of Career and one’s place in society. Hence, a native with Mars in the Tenth will be ambitious. His reputation will matter a great deal to him. Chances are he will not be rash in situations which would damage his social position.

Mars in the Eleventh House

This native may have a great desire to belong to groups. In particular, he may want to belong to charitable organizations such as the Peace Corps. He will have a desire to improve life for those who are less fortunate than he.

Mars in the House Twelve

This native may struggle mightily with assertion. He may choose the passive aggressive approach because anger is extremely frightening to him. Assertion is extremely frightening as well. A mars in the 12th House is a severely restricted Mars. The person cannot help his aversion to direct action. It is a deeply rooted fear, so please try to understand, rather than judge.

Wooo.. interesting.

I have Mars in Aries. It's in my 4H.
I take family life very seriously because I am from a broken family and it really sucked!

I do want to get married but rather not get divorced so I don't have much desire for marriage at this point. Until I find my perfect partner, I wouldn't even dream of having kids. All I want is a perfect family for my kids to grow up and feel secure and protected - something I didn't have when I was growing up..

I have NN in Taurus, 5H so maybe this adds to my view on family life as well.

MARS 10H

I put a lot of energy and even calculation, in my public persona. Not squeaky clean at all, but the effort to keep the personal lows private are HUGE in my book. Yeah, an aggressive approach at being respected and feeling important career-wise means a great deal to me.

I have Mars Virgo in 3rd house. I must admit that this does not apply to me AS MUCH. I do admit that I always have an opinion on something, but when I do insult someone, I usually feel really scared that I had hurt the person's feelings or I don't care at all. But I think you should add that these people very much motivate themselves and compete with their siblings. I always compete with my brother for everything!

Hmm... Virgo Mars in 8h here. I'm really into learning about occult and taboo. I see it as a bit of a journey to better understand the world and why I think and feel the way I do. Sex as a casual fling type thing sounds impossible for me to do. I want to "know" who you are first before anything meaningful happens, or else it's just empty and unfulfilling. Sure you may get something, but will it be worth it?

8th house would be other people's money. I have Mars in the 8th. In relationships, I have to deal with all the finances! The guys see how good I am with money and budgeting, so they put it in my hands. I hate it!

Mars is in Cappy.

Mars in 5th/6th/7th interest me.

Mars in 5th-Player? . Perhaps. When Mars is in Taurus/Libra/Gemini/Sag.

Mars in 6th-Health nut? Could be. When Mars is in Virgo,Scorpio,Capricorn.

Mars in 7th-Romantic? I don't know though hey. Maybe when Mars is in Pisces,Cancer or Libra.

But when in Aries,Leo or Scorpio. Wanting to dominate is more the word I would use to describe them.

Yellow, I'm similar to you.
My parents weren't the mess in my family, my siblings were; and I vow to ensure that my family is structured and not messy like the one I've grown up in. I cannot wait to get married, seeing everyone getting now is making me want it even more. But, I can wait... Especially if it means finding a loyal man who understands how much a traditional family means to me.

My Mars (Aries) is in my 4th house.
My Venus (Taurus) is in my 6th house.

I feel very similarly (Mars in Cap in 4th house). Although my upbringing wasn't necessarily terrible, I do wish some things were different and have vowed to do things differently in my own family (not unlike most people I'm sure). As a result though I do take marriage and children VERY seriously and will not marry or have children unless I know it is with the right person. Divorce is not an option. Saturn is my 5th house ruler so this might contribute to my seriousness about children, but I have always been maybe even slightly "afraid" of marriage and nothing else in my chart would suggest this so I always wondered if Mars in the 4th house had anything to do with it. As Ami suggested I do consider myself a homebody as well even though I am a Gemini. I would choose a quiet night at home with my partner over most other things!

I would like to know how other people with Mars in the 4th house experience sexuality with this placement since there doesn't seem to be very much information on it. That would be a good article!

I have taurus mars in the 8th. I take sex way too seriously. But it's in taurus so I'm stubborn about it and don't care lol. I've given up the dream of every time being mind blowing and earth shatteringly emotional. But it's just depressing how casual everyone else is towards sex. Just makes me want to crawl in a hole and never come out.

I have mars in Leo 8H

This description is TRUE, I love digging deeper into the depths of human behavior and how the mind works all on levels. And also, I can not even imagine dating one who does not match the same depth and intensity as I.

Does Mars in 8H also strong anger eruptions? If I do not channel this energy through a physical activity such as running or through sex, that nasty monster of mine creeps out. *whoo*

Thanks for the share!

MARS in 11H Cap, and I concur. I don't like being in groups either. In fact, I think it's wisest to take care of oneself way before even thinking about trying to improve everyone else's lives.

I think it's probably due to the fact that there are hard aspects to 11th house?

Or perhaps because Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, maybe Capricorn mars doesn't feel good in 11th house where jupiter or moon feels great

I don't think so - MARS is exalted in Cap, after all. Cap MARS likes to shine, but not as part of a group. Since the other 11H MARS people have different signs, I think it may just be a flaw in the house theory. 11H MARS has a different manifestation, I feel, than what was indicated above.

I think 11H MARS wants to be progressive and forward thinking on their own terms. 11H is the rebel, not the sheep. This alone will alienate a person, which seems totally fine to MARS, who is usually doing his own thing anyway.

Obviously, there can be and are modifications to a Mars placement. A simple article is the first step in learning Astrology( or any subject, for that matter)

If one has an 11th House Mars and hates being in groups, then perhaps he has a Mars conjunction to Saturn or a Square. Perhaps, Chiron is in the 11th House. There could be a number of things going on.
